Reorganized my altar area.
I have started working more and more with Hygeia and Asclepius, so I decided to move their statues out to my main "working" altar.

Personal Practice and a healthcare provider
I am wondering if there are other practitioners who are in the medical field.
How do you incorporate that into your practice? Do you even do that? Does it influence the deity you work with? Do you have a ritual that maybe you do before you go to work?
Please share! I am looking for ways to expand my practice.

Hey! You're one of the only people I've found who worship Hygeia and I wanted to do so aswell. However, there's not much info online regarding what sort of offerings to give her besides the typical libation. Do you have any tips or anything you've noticed she liked in particular? TYIA
Hi!
I know there really isn't a lot out there about her.
I have kind of come up with my own offerings. I have some bay leaves with words written on them (Health and such).
I have a devotional candle for Her and Asclepius. I use a light blue colored chime candle that I anoint with olive oil and then roll in herbs. I heavily use Hyssop and Lavender. I burn this on the day I dedicate to Her and Her Father which is Wednesday for me.
I do daily offerings of water. Sometimes I will use full moon water.
Honestly I would just try things and see that feels right to you!

Witchy Tips #3
A quick and subtle way to practice your craft is by using glamours; there’s many ways to use glamours, and this one’s my personal favorite.
Get yourself a translucent face powder that has a hint of glitter; my personal favorite is Bare Minerals Clear Radiance face color. Using a big fluffy brush, brush the powder all over your face and think about how you want people to see you; think adjectives such as beautiful, independent, powerful, etc. I personally like verbally projecting the words I want people to see me as but you can do it however you like. This step is typically best applied after you have finished the rest of your makeup or at the end of whatever beauty routine you do before going anywhere :)
Go forth and be glamourous!

🌙 daily witchy self-care🕯️
Tumblr media
Taking care of yourself day-to-day is important- even more important than a full-blown, in-depth spiritual practice. Here are a few ways you can incorporate witchcraft into your daily self care routine.
witchy baths or showers: bring some (water safe!) crystals, herbs, or even corresponding soaps into your hygiene routine. correlate these items to an overarching intent. try even bringing in specific colors or scents!
affirmations: when you get ready in the morning, get ready for bed, prepare to sleep, or make meals, try to recite some affirmations and reaffirm your intent. this includes things like stirring soup or a drink clockwise/counterclockwise to attract/banish something, telling yourself you are perfect the way you are as you look into the mirror, and affirming your intentions for the next day before you fall asleep.
sigils: try putting sigils on things you use in your daily life. perhaps a glamour sigil on a makeup item you frequently use, confidence sigil on your mirror, luck sigils on the soles of your shoes, relaxation and sleep sigils under your pillow, etc.
mindfulness: take a moment to be present in your life. try to notice the weather outside, observe what's happening outside your window, focus on your breathing, observe what you can with all five senses, or do any kind of mindful exercise to remain present and aware throughout the day. notice how this makes you feel.
journaling: write about your feelings! how mindful were you throughout the day? what did you notice? what did you do to enrich your spiritual practice that day; did you research, or focus on anything in particular?
Remember that you don't need to do a lengthy ritual daily in order to have a daily practice. The idea that your practice must be in-depth and energy consuming every day is an ableist mindset. Not doing extensive work towards your witchy goals doesn't make you any less of a practitioner. Your practice is valid, friend.
Love yourself and witch on!

Kitchen Witchery - Lavender Earl Grey Cookies
The Spring/ Vernal equinox is coming up!
I don't have a lot of time to set up a party like I usually do, so instead I plan on making these cookies and taking them to my friends and family on (or near) the equinox! Of course I plan on offering some to the Deities and house spirits as well.
Tumblr media
Find out more about the spring equinox here.
Here's what you'll need:
10 tbsp unsalted butter, at room temperature
½ cup powdered sugar
½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt optional
½ tbsp Lavender syrup
½ tbsp earl grey tea
Here's what you do:
In a stand mixer, beat the butter, lavender syrup and vanilla extract until creamed.
Add the sugar and salt and mix until combined.
Scrape the sides of the bowl, getting the mixture back into the center, and add flour while beating on low.
Add the earl grey, scrape the bowl again and mix until combined. It’s will be crumbly, not a cohesive dough. This is good!
Take out the crumbly dough and smush the crumbly bits together to shape the dough either into a rectangular prism or cylinder , wrap in plastic and chill for at least an hour, or until firm.
Preheat the oven to 350F (177C).
Cut 1/2 inch thick slices of the cookie dough. You’ll have little rectangles or circles depending on how you shaped the dough.
Place these sliced cookies onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, making sure they are at least an inch apart.
Create a pattern on top if you’d like.
Bake for 10-15 minutes, making sure to rotate the baking sheet in the oven halfway through.
Move the cookies to a cooling tray if available, otherwise you can allow them to cool on the pan.
Tumblr media
You can change the additions to this as you like, maybe make some chai shortbread cookies or another tea! Maybe matcha? The possibilities are endless!
Tips:
Add a tsp of lemon juice instead of earl grey to make a great springtime desert!
Use a toothpick, fork, or skewer to make designs on the top of the cookies.
Use Lady Grey tea instead of earl grey to create Lady Lavender cookies!
Serve with black tea (perhaps earl grey!)
