But the narumitsu fluff communication here is juuuuuuuust so good. The nth chapters of fluff them just opening up and talking what needs to be heard. Farewell, my Turnabout - Final

So let's recount. Reasons why Phoenix became a lawyer was Miles was such an inspiration to him as a kid. Miles disappeared so suddenly. Dahlia happened in college. Mia happened. Phoenix saw the demon prosecutor papers.

Noooow, If I project on Phoenix, I don't think I have that guts to send letters through adulthood. And it's absolutely insane to do legally blonde because of what happened as a kid. Like law is an insane course. Now doing all that especially because of one guy? Either your obsessed or maybe juuuust insanely in love. Or feels really strongly. It's still a lot.

Next. Phoenix is absolutely stuck on this idea on who Miles was as a kid. It's fixed in his mind. SEARED to his brains. Phoenix is aware something is going on during college years and Miles is sooo ghastly different because of the rumors.

Miles disappearance is a giant smack that Miles is no longer the Miles he knew as a kid. Betrayed because of how Miles changed or because his image of Miles is shattered. Phoenix must have realized his kid friend Miles had changed. Changed and flawed. Disappeared without a word. Possibly dead or alive. Regardless of reasons, he is dead to him because the Miles he knew was gone. The Miles he met in court might as well be a stranger.

This case is also for Phoenix to reconcile who Edgeworth is now. To which, he now accepts and realizes how much he trusted him. Miles he knew as a kid is not gone. He is there but just different with added layers.

Reuniting with your little sister. Just have to love the Family built between these three. Also makes me see how big Phoenix actually is. I also can't help think why does Phoenix's skin tone range from tanned to more japanese mayo? I think it's a sweet found family. The three only have each other. Pearls says she only has Maya. Maya has Phoenix and Pearls. And Phoenix feels responsible because of Mia.

This is what drives Franziska. Miles juuust goes on and moves leaving everyone behind. Franziska's thoughts are like Miles' in the past year. I can see so much of a big brother here on Miles. It's so offscreen. Like when Franziska got shot and Miles probably dragged her kicking and screaming into the hospital. Mother hen Miles was in the house. I also find it funny how gullible Miles was to the nuts director. lmaooo.

JFA was where Miles moved and left Franziska and Phoenix behind. Leaving two people who loves him into pieces. They were both a wreck in JFA.

I do think that while Franziska is someone who takes in dirty tricks from Manfred. I don't think she's that bad. Contrary, she is better than Manfred and Miles. She is fair as much as she could and does her best to what she believes to be the right verdict. Altho, perfect win is rooted into her and she does play a little dirty to get the correct verdict. Like the end justify the means. It's just that, Phoenix in JFA is in so much angst. Miles leaving leaves him with heavier tones of accusations on how Franziska handles her cases. If you switch how Franziska and Phoenix handles cases, I think there is a similarity on how they handle things. TT Phoenix is peak Phoenix. He makes people slip. Farewell, my Turnabout is just a unique case. If things were different, Miles would have won that case. Had Franziska handled it, Franziska would have won. Phoenix also had many instances where it's not just getting a not guilty verdict.

I love how the game showed that. More than winning and losing. It's what's important. Mias said it perfectly.

So when does Franziska hands this evidence back? Probably when both of them are in a good headspace to be around each other. When Franziska is ready. The reconciliation is not completely there but it's there. For Franziska and Phoenix. Like, this to me is why the final case in AA had Phoenix and Franziska acting the way they did. Just wish there was mooore. Like I crave Franziska and Phoenix friendship badly. I think they make a good pair of frenemies. hahaha.

Farewell, my Turnabout pt 2

I missed to take a pic on Phoenix's. His was something on putting a hole into Miles argument. But these twooo with their sexual inueedos. Helllooo. You two are 100% in public. Why is it natural for these two to be sooo utterly shameless?

This just hits hard. From JFA to DD. Tho. Unrelated enough, I can see that Franziska and Phoenix are people who are not afraid to get their hands dirty. Both, I think tend to think somewhat similar. Or may have better understanding how each other thinks. I agree that Franziska and Phoenix working during disbarment to bring Kristoph down makes more sense.

I find this sooo funny because Miles comes in and juuust hauls that giant bear. Also I remember Gumshoe damaging it so it probably looked liked having a mangled bear. Enough to give Pearls nightmares.

The only time we will see Edgeworth hesitate. Like internally, he's probably screaming like Phoenix's once did "Ahhh. I can't say it."

The turning point where Phoenix realizes how much he trusts Edgeworth. This is where Phoenix realizes what was built from game 1. That both work together for the truth. It's endearing that they both did not fear what the other one would do or say. Phoenix is the one being slapped, he needs to cooperate on how truth should be handled.

Also this trial makes me think how Miles and Phoenix case handling is soooo different from any other prosecutor-lawyer pair. Absolutely natural. The absolute trust they have. The insane things they do in court and trust that the other would not just end the trial just like that. Miles never let the trial when he could have. Phoenix did not let the trial end when he could have done the same. Also This is just where both slapped each other really well. Both the defense and the prosecution gets themselves into holes they could barely dig themselves out of. I wished more cases do that. I love these two so much that way.

Humbly requesting to know more about your aa swap au 🙏

Hihi, I am more than happy to oblige :3 At first I wanted to doodle some of my ideas but it is clear I will not have the time for that sadly, but I have a lot of thoughts (tm) lol

I imagine in this au that Edgeworth's dad still dies, but he gets adopted by someone other than von Karma. Maybe Misty Fey doesn't run away and instead adopts him into the Fey family and he grows up with Mia and Maya, going off to lawyer college after Mia (becoming a defense attorney in his image/to honor his dad).

Miles and Phoenix still go to school together when they're kids, the kid trial happens, and Edgeworth leaves after Gregory's death to Kurain village to live with the Feys where he is homeschooled for a while.

Phoenix lives his life pretty similarly to cannon, if not a bit more extra. He goes to college and majors in theater, dabbles with the idea of getting into law because he remembers and misses his childhood friend. Dahlia still happens, but during the trial his faith in love, himself and the court is shaken. After the trial he finds himself at his lowest point in life yet, he is depressed, lonely, he is unable to trust anyone around him fully and changes majors with the steely resolve to become a prosecutor. As someone in my notes mentioned, he is so shaken up by Dahlia and blinded by his trauma, that he decides to personally make sure all criminals are rightfully convicted.

As an aside, his defense attorney is still Mia in this case, but he has no idea she has a connection to Edgeworth and they don't keep in touch much.

Phoenix does really well in college, he gets obsessed with being good, if not perfect in his field. It's at this point that Von Karma recruits him because perfection is something to be capitalized on. He and Franziska have a passing, sibling-adjacent relationship. They don't see each other much but whenever they do, Von Karma attempts to pit them against each other. This works with Franziska, who always tries to one-up Phoenix at every chance she gets, but Wright is not interested in competition or comparison, he is interested in his own results and spotless case record.

Prosecutor Wright is ruthless and quite rude in court, he is impulsive and has zero filter. Whatever Phoenix thinks in canon, this guy says out loud. He might be eccentric and rude but he is damn good at his job, there are few arguments he can't win. His appearance and crassness makes it so people tend to underestimate him in court which he uses to his advantage. He still bluffs quite a lot, but hides it well under a masterly crafted layer of over-confidence. He has a looot of emotions, but keeps all the negative ones under wraps, sadness is a sign of weakness and defeat and anger could be exploited. He is basically Feenie, but the crybaby part is repressed along with every other trauma and mental health issue he has and his smugness dialed up to 11.

Miles Edgeworth, attorney at law is still roughened by the years of Fey family drama, the loss of his father, and the lack of friendships he could establish while isolated from the rest of society in a matriarchal spiritual village in the mountains. He grows up to be even more emotive than in canon, and he is openly a nerd. They obsess over the stell samurai with Maya and he proudly displays pins and charms on his bags he carries to court. He probably gets a bit cringey at times. Still, he takes his distance with strangers and is very slow to open up to people but is quite literally ride or die with the ones close to him.

He acts quite stand-offish with Prosecutor Wright (mostly because the man takes every opportunity to flirt with him, as if it's appropriate work-place behavior, even in the middle of court mind you), but also due to how he, like many others, thinks that there is nothing beyond the persona that Wright projects and is disappointed to know that his childhood friend is gone. At first at least.

The first time Edgeworth beats Wright in court (which is one of the handful of times he's lost a case in his 5 year long career), Feenie wants to break free lol. Phoenix tries very VERY hard not to ugly cry in the middle of trial when he sees that he is starting to lose and has no substantial counter to provide. It is probably a worse scene than if he had just cried.

Edgeworth feels kinda bad for him, but is proud to have gotten a not guilty for an innocent person. Still when they pass each other in the hall a while after the trial and Miles sees Prosecutor Wright's puffy eyes and face (and especially when he spots what might be a developing black eye on his face) he can't help but feel his heart break a little for his childhood best friend and wonder what happened to him and how he ended up like this.

Phoenix enjoys the job perk of seeing Edgeworth a lot again, while Miles develops a mild savior complex and severe obsession with Phoenix. The flirting might be a ploy to get Edgeworth off his game in court at first, but it doesn't take long for Prosecutor Wright to start meaning what he says and for Edgeworth to start believing him.

(They are a bit toxic yaoi at the start, but I think everything with one of the characters spinning wildly out of control and the other trying desperately to catch up with them has to be until it can get better. I mean look at canon narumitsu lol)

MY FAVE CASE

Replaying this case after so many years. I just needed a screenshot of Miles smug face after his return. It looks so different.

I am prepared to see Phoenix put Miles through the wringer.

Like really lots of feels I have here. First thing Miles does is address Franziska. Wow. He does not mince words.

The reunion. These two sound like ex-es. The one year away was torture to Phoenix that he could not bear to even hear his name. Either Phoenix believed he was dead for one year or he is alive and he is dead to Phoenix. Phoenix should be smart enough to know Miles is alive. There is a possibility he tells Gumshoe not to make mention of Miles. The implication of Miles never telling Phoenix the truth at all hurts. Altho it's possible Phoenix could not bear to investigate more on Miles note. Or Phoenix just staying silent as he would just silently bear his pain and shut everyone out.

This screams Phoenix to me. He has a savior complex that Miles confirmed in a way. Like Phoenix would do the questionable things for the sake of those people he holds dear. Which is also why he takes Miles disappearance so bad. The super confident facade Miles mentions is so like Phoenix himself.

This is one of the things what drives Godot nuts about Phoenix. Somewhat similar. Phoenix is not Mia but who he tries to appear, what drives him is a giant contradiction. But also without Mia, Phoenix feels very lost. Without Edgeworth, even more so. That's how it symbolizes anyway.

This could also go eitherway on Miles and Franziska. Franziska following Miles because he disappeared. Or Miles disappearance due to the von karma creed or how MvK almost successfully won despite the revelation on his case. Guy got brainwashed implied or gaslight implied. Now that ROTA case went and slammed on him, it was all Miles could do. Instead of getting help.

I imagine defense lawyer Edgeworth still a bit closed off but more of an open nerd with even less of a poker face lol. And Prosecutor Wright is just Phoenix but with less of a filter, more theater kid and mental health issues stemming from repression and denial.

5 Tiny Writing Tips That Aren’t Talked About Enough (but work for me)

These are some lowkey underrated tips I’ve seen floating around writing communities — the kind that don’t get flashy attention but seriously changed how I write.

1. Put “he/she/they” at the start of the sentence less often.

Try switching up your sentence rhythm. Instead of

“She walked to the window,”

try

“The window creaked open under her touch.”

Keeps it fresh and stops the paragraph from sounding like a checklist.

2. Don’t describe everything — describe what matters.

Instead of listing every detail in a room, pick 2–3 objects that say something.

“A half-drunk mug of tea and a knife on the table”

sets a way stronger tone than

“There was a wooden table, two chairs, and a shelf.”

3. Use beats instead of dialogue tags sometimes.

Instead of:

"I'm fine," she said.

Try:

"I'm fine." She wiped her hands on her skirt.

It helps shows emotion, and movement.

4. Write your first draft like no one will ever read it.

No pressure. No perfection. Just vibes. The point of draft one is to exist. Let it be messy and weird — future you will thank you for at least something to edit.

5. When stuck, ask: “What’s the most fun thing that could happen next?”

Not logical. Not realistic. FUN. It doesn’t have to stay — but chasing excitement can blast through writer’s block and give you ideas you actually want to write.

Summary:

Ren was just so tired. He was so lucky to have the world's best boyfriend. He shows up unannounced and Yu welcomes him inside like he expected it.

I am just hungry for a fic where Phoenix is tsundere because he is the bitchy one and people don't seem to know this and is shocked. And Miles being, so besotted because he is the open and honest one and Phoenix is the secretive one.

Also Phoenix is the one with romance issues, finding it hard to trust someone with his heart. It takes Miles. Miles who narrates poetics inside his head how each feature of Phoenix is so beautiful. Miles who is just there anytime Phoenix asks or does not ask. Miles, who stays because that's what Phoenix needed.

Like, I just am craving for Phoenix being bitchy, secretive and being difficult. And Miles being the sweet, devoted that softens Phoenix instead.

Reading too much tsundere Edgeworth makes me think how those two are actual opposites.

I have some nrmt headcanons for you to celebrate the occasion

Phoenix does most of the cooking at home. Miles is notoriously a very bad cook, but whenever he does make an attempt, Phoenix "Iron Stomach" Wright eats it anyway and tells him he loves it.

Conversely, Miles is a very good baker. His favorite part is laying out all the ingredients before he starts in a bunch of little ramekins

Whenever Miles is having a bad day at work, the first thing he does when he gets home is take off his shoes and his coat. Then, he silently bumbles around the house until he finds Phoenix, and then he lays down on top of him

Once, Phoenix borrowed a DVD using Miles' library card and lost it before he got home. It's been five months and he's looked for it every single day, and he's terrified to tell Miles it's missing + find out about the late fee

Miles found the DVD the day after Phoenix lost it. He turned it in on the day it was due and is waiting to see how long Phoenix will take to confess. He's wondering if it would be funny or cruel to stage his own arrest for excess library fees.

Apollo has a crush on Miles and, conversely, Klavier has a crush on Phoenix. None of them have any idea.

Despite the fact that Phoenix is good with children of any age, Miles is actually the better of the two at handling babies. This is primarily because most of Phoenix's kids get to him as Standing and Walking children

As most of Miles' nightmares faded after AA3, Phoenix actually started getting some of his own after the bridge and "the big reveal." Miles likes to comfort him by holding his head to his chest, running his fingers through his hair, and humming to him. It's very soothing for both of them

Trucy films for him and sometimes you see her glove just sticking in from the upper right corner of the screen. Sometimes the recording starts or stops halfway through her counting down

Eventually Phoenix learns about editing and puts a star wipe everywhere he possibly can

Kay does not tell him what people use the website for

Edgeworth also does not tell them and just stands there red as a tomato while Phoenix tells him how well he’s doing

(Phoenix absolutely knows what people use the website for and he’s honestly kind of just waiting for Miles to stop him and explain it one day)

Phoenix is wearing his suit from the Phoenix Wright trilogy, but with no badge. He is running, trying to escape the clutches of a dark, morphed arm with claws, but fails as it grasps his forearm. He glances back at it, terrified. Pictures of Kristoph Gavin's darkened gaze with a smirk and little Trucy giving him a piece of paper flash in his mind as the monster hugs him from behind, only its creepy smile and eyes comprehensive. The monster has long, loose hair flowing and branching everywhere, and something resembling two braids at the top. The strands of hair separate the previous imaginery into scenes.

Phoenix gasps as wakes up, sweating with unshed tears in his eyes, and clutching his blanket with his eyes widened. He is unshaven, and his hair is a mess.

Page 2:

Panel 1:

He sits up quickly, clutching the part of the t-shirt where his heart is, as he breathes heavily. With his other hand he is tightly grasping his blanket.

Panel 2:

A long-sleeved hand grabs the one clutching the blanket, and it jolts. "Phoenix," the person mumbles.

Panel 3:

"M-Miles," Phoenix stutters as he turns his gaze to Miles, who is hidden by Phoenix as he's still laying down. Miles' hand moves to the hand grasping at Phoenix's shirt, talking to him. "Listen to my voice," he speaks, still tired, "Come lay down." Phoenix's grasp on the blanket loosens.

Panel 4:

Phoenix falls back down on the pillow with a thump. "That's it," Miles praises him, with his eyes still closed, trying to emerge from his half-asleep state. His hair is a mess too, one of his bangs tucked behind his ear and with a slight scruff on his face. Phoenix, still shakened, glances at him. Miles holds his hand. "Take a deep breath. 'm right here."

Page 3:

Panel 1:

Miles lifts himself up, getting an arm under Phoenix's head. "C'mere," he says, and Phoenix with his trembling lip tries to apologize, "I-I'm s—" but he is cut off by Miles' shushing him. His other arm is caressing his chest.

Panel 2:

Miles tucks Phoenix in his own chest, wrapping his arms around his neck, one of them scratching his head. He scrunches his eyebrows, "I'm here, darling." Phoenix's eyes fill with tears once more and he hiccups, shaking.

Panel 3:

Miles wraps Phoenix up in his arms, burying his head in his hair. "It was just a dream," he says as Phoenix lets out a sob. Tears roll down his face as he buries himself entirely in Miles' shoulder, hugging him back. "You're safe," Miles continues, "It was just a dream."

What I just crave right now is maybe share an Edgeworth-Wright-Fey Family through the 7 year gap being family oriented. SO here I have a long headcanon series post on Phoenix during the 7 year gap. Mostly Phoenix coz he's my fave.

Just Phoenix being a dad. Burning cookies. Learning to cook because he is now a dad. I am PROJECTING but I firmly believe Phoenix had to budget everything. From food, daily expenses, medicine, Trucy's school supplies, Phoenix's therapy (because Edgeworth would not stop honking on him. Phoenix insists on paying him partially despite being on Edgeworth's dependent list. No, he will not drink BECAUSE he needs that money elsewhere.

Phoenix did tend to eat lesser which drove Miles and Maya nuts. The man does not need diet. He is UNDERWEIGHT! They've been trying their utmost to fatten Phoenix up (Phoenix's words). With an ongoing bet to drive them. So the moment they found out this money strategy of Nick to save money, they both are so frustrated and upset for many reasons and am even more determined. Miles creates a report or power point for every debate Miles will have with Phoenix on this. Maya got Trucy and Pearls involved to ensure Nick eats 3 times a day. When Edgeworth is in LA or when he drags Phoenix to another country, he makes sure Phoenix gets his food even if had to drag him kicking and screaming. Phoenix was no Franziska. It was no contest getting him to eat despite Nick's bitchiness. Edgeworth made it his goal to bring him not only to a 5 star (because he wants to spoil that MAN) but also realized that brining Phoenix to an affordable but delicious place worked like magic. Phoenix did not see that coming. He only realized far too late when Edgeworth is not in LA and he is craving for a certain European or Asian cuisine he ate with Edgeworth in a restaurant.

Maya's strategy is to bully Phoenix into treating them mostly. Dinners also consist of Maya and Trucy slyly piling food onto Phoenix's plate but he can't complain. Pearl's will look so upset if Phoenix tries to skip on any food, ready to punch or kick her Nick for being ridiculous. Maya just straight up bullies Phoenix if he tries to contest not being hungry. Edgeworth gives him the eye, lectures him until his ears bleed if he doesn't eat! If that doesn't work, Miles threatened to bring the one famous restaurant chef to Phoenix once which made Phoenix concede. Pearls makes sure everyone gets to eat their veggies. She will lecture everyone who avoids being healthy - and Phoenix being the worst offender next to Maya, would concede since he is weak to a determined Pearl. Somehow Franziska got involved because of Maya and Miles rantings. She sometimes shows up, out of the blue to get Phoenix to eat properly, driven crazy by Maya and Miles endless topic. There is no escape for him.

He is hell no to a lot of modern appliances and stuck to traditional cooking. Meaning he'd use the stove. If he's really desperate, he'll do charcoal cooking - as he could not afford to order gas to the displeasure of his neighbors. This man could not be stopped. His neighbors pitches if he ever comes to attempts charcoal cooking. A trade off was to attend a neighbor thing and cook for everyone and yes - he does not have to spend a dime. He cooked rice traditionally versus a rice cooker. Learned a lot of cooking. Chinese food, Japanese cuisine, also German cuisine because of Miles. It doesn't help that Miles brings Phoenix to a lot of European countries. And when Edgeworth treats him and Trucy, Phoenix back at US is driven crazy half the time of the food he tasted there and with the money issue, he just obsessed at one point to cook that food he tased in Germany or what country Miles brought him to.

Phoenix is, when stressed, stress bakes. Lots of sweets. And they all look absolutely adorable. His cookies are sometimes steel samurai or whatever Trucy is into. It's so artsy.
