DAY 107:
let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions. 1 John 3:18
My dear sister,
It’s not enough for him to say he wants a relationship with you. It’s not enough for him to just flirt here and there, send you texts here and there, kiss you here and there…whatever it is, love is more than just words. It’s actions, and as followers of Christ, if we truly desire to do things His way by being intentional and godly in our relationships, we have to give our all to it, not just parts of it!
Love goes deeper than just going on dates or going on an emotional roller-coaster with a guy. Love must be deeply rooted in Christ and deeply rooted in the things of God. We don’t just do things just because. We don’t just enter into relationships out of boredom. Because of Christ, everything we do has purpose.
So if you’re talking to a guy or are interested in someone who has words with no actions, it’s time to really look at the time you’re investing. This is important because no matter what this guy says, it is his actions that will really show you where his heart is! Remember this when it comes to:
1. That guy who just wants to text and talk but never commit 2. That guy who likes to flirt with you, but flirts with other girls too 3. That guy who is not respecting your time, your heart, your body 4. That guy who you’ve been thinking about all day, even though you know he is not willing to pursue you 5. That guy who is leaning on you emotionally, physically, or spiritually and he is not committed to being in an intentional relationship 6. That guy who are not in a relationship with but keeps sending you mixed emotions 7. That guy who you are no longer in a relationship with but still wants to talk to you regularly and be completely involved in your life 8. That guy who you are constantly going back and forth over if this is “the one” God has for you
Whatever it is, don’t retreat back to what he said. Think about what he does. Don’t think about the time he said, “Yea, I’m a Christian!” Think about how he LIVES for Christ!

And He said, “My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest. (Exodus 33:14)
Cast your burden upon the LORD, and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken. (Psalm 55:22)
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)
When I am afraid, I will put my trust in Thee. In God, whose word I praise, In God I have put my trust; I shall not be afraid. What can [mere] man do to me? (Psalm 56:3-4)
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6)
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Final words
So all in all, the things that I learnt to do in relation to being strong in the Lord were immensely helpful. And yes, I could go deeper, I do want to to be honest. This is just the first layer of being string in Him. I am able to fight battles knowing that they I will be victorious because I'm not going by my own strength, for my own cause and I'm in the right battle. So be strong in the Lord. Take time to sort yourself out, read His word, pray and ask Him for strength. Get to know God intimately, be fully committed to Him and you'll see His mighty power in your everyday life.

Trust in Him and rely on The Holy Spirit
God knows everything that will happen, that is happening and that has happened. He knows the battles you will face and also knows the way out of them. It makes sense to seek Him for direction. And when we ask Him for direction, there's no confusion, just a straight clear path. What does that have to do with being strong in the Lord? Well, if you're seeking God for every step and trusting in Him with every step you take, not only is He able to work freely in you and through you, thereby strengthening you, but also you'll have the wisdom you need to know which battles to fight and invest in, and which battles you need to be still in and let the Lord fight for you. You don't waste energy in situations that won't get you anywhere and you can fully invest yourself into the battles God wants you to fight in.

Grow in knowledge of God and Ask
Let's start with The Word. This is something that at first glance throws people off because sometimes we don't realise how important The Word is and we downplay the effect The Word can have in our lives. Now my first question is how can you draw strength from God if you don't know Him? You can't. You wouldn't know the protocol, what His voice sounds like, how He acts and so on. If you don't know Him, you won't know how to seek Him. And if you don't seek Him, you won't know how to draw strength from Him. And how do we get to know God? Through His word, and for this, we turn to 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Colossians 1:10 and 2 Peter 3:18 And as for prayer, well James 5:16 should make that part obvious. Asking God to give you strength, believe it or not, will allow Him to give you strength. In James 4:1-3, James talks about quarrelling and fighting that was happening at the time. In this he tells them that the fights are happening because they have desires within them that have gone unfulfilled. And the reason they have gone unfulfilled is because they have not asked God. "You do not have because you do not ask God". You might desire to have strength, but if you don't ask God, you might get frustrated because you'll feel like you're not getting anywhere while everyone else around you seems to be pushing on ahead of you. God is our Father, and He wants you to talk to Him, to ask Him and He will surely give. (Granted, your motives must be right, as described in the latter part of James 4:1-3). So Pray. God will hear you and He will answer your prayer.

Realise He's the giver and sustainer of strength
Here's when we turn to two of the most well known bible verses. Philippians 4:13 and Isaiah 40:29. God is the giver of strength. Time and time again in the bible we read of how He provided the strength to win battles, to have peace (yes, you actually need the strength to hold on to His peace), to the weary and heavy laden. Whenever God's people have required strength, God has been there to provide it. At it's only by His strength that they were able to overcome all obstacles. It's a special kind of strength that glorifies God and points to Him. A kind of strength that humans can't muster. When you recognise that God is the giver of strength, you'll turn to Him in all things.

Recognise that you are weak.
Whaaa??! That made no sense. But we are. There's a limit to what we can do; if we do too much we burn out. That's true physically, emotionally and spiritually. We are weak and we need to recognise that. It's why we need God. Read Isaiah 40:29. It's not the strong that He gives strength to, but to the weak. If you were strong, you wouldn't need His strength.

"Be strong in the LORD and in His mighty power"
Helpful scripture to look at: 2 Chronicles 16:9 So from last week to today I've been finding out what being strong in the Lord really looked like in my everyday life. And it's easy to think that to do this means to find strength in yourself or to 'man up' or something along those lines. And to some degree, yes, it does require action. But not in the way that I first expected. I started out thinking it involved me doing a lot and I'd have to find 'inner strength' or whatever. But then I re-read it. Be strong in the LORD. What does that even mean?!
