Briana Boston didn't threaten anyone.
When my grandmother was sent a death threat through text message, I reported it to the police. The officer told me that "it's not considered a death threat unless the message mentions a weapon and a deadline".
As a result, they didn't do anything. Not even a verbal warning to that person.
Or, there's a double standard when it comes to billionaires and big corporations. Who'd have thought.

When you kill a healthcare ceo, itâs terrorism. When someone shoots your kid in elementary school, itâs thoughts and prayers for like a week and then they move on. It truly shows the fact that terrorism is whatever the american government wants it to mean.

If the system worked we wouldnât be here
If the system worked they wouldnât need fear
If the system worked people wouldnât be freezing and starve
While you put billions into trying to make it to mars
If the system worked our mothers and sisters wouldnât be dying
Our partnerâs family and friends wouldnât be crying
If the system worked our voices would be heard
But you snap your fingers and silence us with one word
Terrorist
Terrified and falsely testified against those who want change
you are the terrorists
Anarchist
And when things get worse and we are on the brink of war and death it will not pay to be a pacifist
A voice that is silent is a voice that lets them know it is ok to treat us like this.
But when a shot was heard around the world the gun barrel aimed and it did not miss
A spark was lit a hunger for a life we should already own
Where our money our time and our lives are our own
Can you not hear us scream the pain we feel
When we are stuffed into this train with a mad man at the wheel
When our lives and our loved ones are chained to a system that drains and only causes pain
But we are free
Yet are we not like indentured servants in a system designed to serve us
Are the people finally waking up are they finally conscious
When can we finally breathe without all of this weight on us
When can I finally get off this tormented bus
I finally want to live before I die..
so I ask why..
why make us suffer and torment your people
What do we do when itâs our own government thatâs evil
When did living become blocked by a paywall?
Why did you start selling poison as a cure-all
When will American finally wake up
Itâs not me vs you itâs down vs up
Defend. Deny. Depose
Signed, rose

For so long, the US has been a battle of left vs right. But CEO Brian Thompson's assassination has kinda done something incredible..... The conversation has shifted from being "left vs right" to "rich vs poor." The cracks have begun to show, and maybe, just maybe, the conversation will continue...

Defend, Deny, depose
And in their gardens red flowers grow
Grown with blood and souls of those who dare defend deny depose
With marble statues and glittering gold a story always told
Where the rich and famous give little to sustain us and itâs getting fucking old
We Defend deny depose
When our blood spills while their cups fill
We defend deny depose.
And we shall remember the 4th of December where one man dared to go
When the government shame us we cannot stay in stasis
Defend deny depose
And when we fight which is our right
And deliver our blow
Remember remember the 4th of December where one man dared to defend deny and depose

As I sit and watch a man dragged in front of a jury and as I watch my fellow Americans stand behind him I ask myself is this really about the so-called violence and distaste of supporting a supposed murderer? Heroâs are marked by morals. If Superman didnât have humanity he could have just destroyed the world but if Batman didnât have morals he would be like the rich and elite of America. You question our morality while signing death warrants for our brothers and sisters, our mothers, fathers and children when you deny countless health insurance claims and condemn us to at best death at worse constant pain and suffering. You accuse us of being violent but we have not been. You accuse us of having no humanity but when you who has most of our wealth let millions go homeless including veterans who fought for us, when millions cannot afford basic necessities and life saving procedures are being denied, when our quality of life is so bad that those of us living with constant pain have no relief and our quality of life keeps deteriorating with no end in sight. When you can let innocent children die in schools and move to take rights away from the American people, changes that put more profit into your pockets do you in turn not also lose your right to be called human? When you line your pockets with the blood money of the working class and treat healthcare and our lives as a luxury you lose your right to be called a human because your humanity is gone.
We are not monsters we are humans who want to live we are people not just numbers we deserve to be able to live to be happy to be free that is the most basic principle of our system, you encourage us to protest but as long as itâs not in your sight for using our voice we are met with riot shields and tear gas but is it not our right? We ask for clean water and healthy food but what good is life sustaining necessities when you canât afford to buy them when we are told to work harder and save but where is that money supposed to come from when our paychecks are minuscule and our bills take most of our money when groceries costs have gone up and our food is pumped full of chemicals. You feed us shit and tell us itâs a feast you give disease and sell the cure. People are so easily bought and sold that we have become as complacent as cows and pigs, we are seen as tools, no, cattle for you to make money off of. When CEOs are saying healthcare food and water arenât basic human rights things need to change.
Peace has always been the goal but you have locked us in cages designed by a system that will not let or allow us to get ahead. The heroes and martyrs of the American people are villains to the same group who want to keep us locked in our cages and use us till we are dead or canât give anymore. You take and take from us and use it to buy your second or third houses, your fancy cars and boats. capitalism has drained the American people but we have been complacent in our caging. We want peace but know that peaceful protests will be met with violent policing and violations of our right to protest peacefully. People are killed every day, women who canât have medically necessary abortions, people with life threatening illnesses who canât afford medication, children who canât even go to school and learn or play outside. Innocent Americans who just want to live who have family friends children people who have mothers and fathers, yet, you want sympathy for a man who has had a hand in killing millions while not directly pulling the trigger still pulling the trigger all the same, sure Mr. CEO has a wife and kids but so do billions of other Americans who die daily due to the neglect of our system to say we should care more because one has wealth is hypocrisy.
You judge us for the supposed violence of an individual and call us inhumane and cruel. You quote Martin Luther King and Gandhi telling us there are peaceful options but have we not voiced our displeasure and grievances before just to be snuffed out and silenced. Frederick Douglass once said "Where justice is denied, where poverty is enforced, where ignorance prevails, and where any one class is made to feel that society is in an organized conspiracy to oppress, rob, and degrade them, neither persons nor property will be safe.â Is this not the feeling of the American people? Could you not from your ivory towers built with blood war and lies, hear the cries of the people? Are you so desensitized to the suffering of our people and our country that you could not feel our anger our outrage? The answer is yes you could hear and you plugged your ears you could see the suffering of people and close your eyes and now and only now do you feel our rage when the cost is one of your own and you blame us for the violence you have shoved down our throats for years.
We want peace but America it is time to wake up now more than ever. The threat to our lives, our people, the very foundation of what America is built on is right in front of us, a system that has been repeated throughout the world for centuries. A system designed to never let us get ahead to keep us as sheep to keep us oppressed. We have been feeding the monster and looking the other way as it grew. Now is the time for the American people to stand up and say enough is enough. We must prove that we, just like our brothers and sisters in other countries, will not stand for tyranny, we will not stand for the removal and violation of our rights, that we will not let those who hold power pit us against each other. Change will not come without effort, we can not let our voices be silenced. Peace is what we want so we will march for it, if you can not march, write, if you cannot write then sing, if you cannot sing then scream. Until our voices are heard through the world until those who oppress us understand we will not roll over and take this brutal beating anymore and that we will not be divided. This is not a religious issue, it is not a left vs right issue. It is us the American people versus the elite we cannot settle and we cannot lose focus for the future of America we will have to fight. But IF and only if we are met with violence for our peace, then bare your teeth, sharpen your claws and most importantly think and understand that while violence isnât the answer, America's history is a bloody one. We must be one regardless of religious beliefs, political beliefs and affiliation. We need to understand that these are obstacles that they say separate and divide us because they fear us being united. Change cannot happen if we donât stand together.
Please America it is past time for a change, we are past sick and tired it is time for our voices to rise together until all they here are the voices of the American people until the elite understand we are not backing down until we can proudly call ourselves the land of the free and the home of the brave again. And may whoever is watching out for us, whether gods or ancestors, protect us all.
If it was one of us, your average everyday American who got shot you wouldnât care so why should we.
Signed,
Rose.

As people say "ohhh luigi's a right wingerđ„ș" i will say, as a radical leftist, with all my heart: I do not give a fuck. My whole fucking life has been run by medical bills. My medication costs $300 a month WITH insurance. This dude has done more for national class consciousness than anyone has in the past decade. For the first time, so many people are realizing that it is not left and right. It's up and down. Do NOT listen to whiny ass separatists.
