I can never understand how Snape apologetics can stand up for him when he CANONICALLY does this shit.
I can maybe, maybe, understand those who haven’t read the books standing up for him, because honestly the movies don’t cover all the horrible stuff he does. But those who have read the books and still stick up for him baffle me.
I mean, you don’t see anyone sticking up for the Dursley’s or Umbridge, when they do the same stuff to Harry as Snape. How is Snape any different?

“So, how does it feel?” Emmeline asked sitting next to him, breaking the silence.
“What?” Sirius questioned her back.
“Being so blindly in love with Marlene McKinnon that you have to deny it to your dearest friend?” A playful smile came across her lips.
“What? I am not-” Emmeline gave him one of her don’t-you-dare-lying-to-me looks, he snorted and looked away “I don’t know what you mean, besides, you’re one to talk, Miss…”
“I don’t understand what you are trying to imply! I’m clearly not deeply in love with any McKinnon, especially not with my friend Marlene” Emmeline said making a dramatic gesture.
Sirius rolled his eyes, “Well neither am I”. This time she was the one snorting.
“Of course you aren’t” she replied sarcastically “That’s why she’s the only exception to your ‘never dating a girl more than once’ rule and why you actually care what she says…”
“You are absolutely not my dearest friend”

“Alright, Marley, now lie on my feet,” Sirius told her.
“Why? And don’t call me Marley,” she snapped.
“Just do it,” Sirius answered annoyed.
“Fine. Ah! Sirius!” Marlene laughed.

Just a Kiss Between Friends:
“So,” James grinned, “are you going to tell her?”
“I don’t think I have much of a choice. I can’t stop thinking about her.” Sirius smiled softly.
It was Halloween. The Marauders had organised a ‘small gathering’ in the common room. This ‘small gathering’ turned into an alcohol infused party- the biggest yet might I add. Sirius had been battling with himself over his feelings for Marlene. The tall, fiesty blonde that had befriended him in first year, had grown on him over the years and he slowly started to realise he liked her more than ‘just a friend’. This was a title he had use prefusely to deny his feelings for her.
After weeks of internal turmoil, Sirius decided it was time to ‘man up’- that and the encouragement of James who had finally stopped teasing him.
“I told her to meet me by the Astronomy Tower at 01:00 but I think I’ll head up now or I’ll drink too much and be late.”
“Good luck!” James chuckled, pulling Sirius into a bear hug and patting him on the back.
Sirius jogged happily to the Astronomy Tower. He pulled out his cigarettes and patted his jacket to locate the lighter, but something made him stop dead in his tracks. He heard whispering as he immediately noticed the presence of two people standing on the balcony. Her blonde, un-tamed curls hair caught his eye. Her hands wrapped round the shoulders of a tall boy. Sirius watched her pull back from the kiss only to reveal the face of Remus Lupin. Within seconds, Sirius found himself sprinting down the stairs and heading back to the Common Room. James followed Sirius up to the Boys Dormitory after he had seen him rush in and grab a half full bottle of Firewhisky off the table.
“Did you hear that?” Remus said, looking past Marlene towards the stairs.
“People sneak up here all the time, where do you think Sirius gets most of his snogs,” she grinned.
“Are you sure it wasn’t him?” Remus said, his voice dripping uncertainty.
“I’m sure. He told me to meet him at one and let’s be honest, when is Sirius Black ever early?” She smiled, leaning on the balcony. She closed her eyes a thought of his big dimply smile and dark curls. She had like him for a long time, but she had always denied it. They were only friends.
“So you think I’m a good enough kisser then?” Marlene asked, throwing her hair up into a bun.
“Yeah. You had nothing to worry about. I don’t know why you asked me though.”
“Well you’ve kissed loads of girls Remus and so has Sirius. I really like him and you are the only person who knows.”
“No even Lily?” Remus interjected.
“Nope. I know she doesn’t like him or James so she would just tell me they’re stupid and that I shouldn’t waste my time,” she sighed, “I couldn’t ask James, I’ve know him so long he’s like my brother. Peter has a girlfriend and all the other boys would get weird about it. Anyway, I trust you.”
“Well I’m glad you do, but if I was you, I wouldn’t mention this to Sirius. I have a feeling his has a crush on you and he might literally kill me if he finds out. He can’t control jealousy very well.”
“Well thank you and I won’t mention it. I just didn’t want to embarrass myself infront of him if he did try to kiss me. I mean why else would he invite me up here?”
“True,” Remus smiled, “Anyway Mar, better get back to the party. A little birdie told me Emmeline Vance was looking for me.” He smirked.
“Oooh okay,” she grinned, “I’ll just wait here for Sirius. He should be here soon.” She smiled.
Remus walked slowly out the Astronomy door only to bump into a very angry James Potter.
“What’s wrong with you?” Remus asked, not sure what to say.
“What do you think?” James retorted, crosding his arms.
“Fuck..” Remus sighed, “I knew it was him.”
“How could you kiss Marlene!”
“Look it wasn’t like that. Sirius invited her here and she thought he might kiss her and she was worried she might be a shit kisser. Prongs look, she really likes him.”
“Sirius is in the dormitory now, drowning his sorrows because he saw his best mate kissing the girl he’s fancied the pants off of for ages.”
“I was just trying to help Marlene out.”
“By shoving your tongue down her throat?”
“Hey, that’s not fair. She came to me and asked me. She hasn’t kissed a lot of boys, she was nervous.”
Neither boy had realised Marlene was standing by the door. She watched them quietly, a twinge of guilt clenched her stomach.
“Moony, Padfoot has never really liked any of girls he’s been with and you’ve just tongued the first one he actually does.”
“He likes me?” Marlene found herself asking.
“Yeah he does. He’s in the dorm now, he’s pretty upset. He was going to tell you tonight. He’d been working up the courage for ages.” James said, his tone softening.
“Shit…” she sighed, holding her face in her hands, “I like him too. That’s why I asked Remus to kiss me. I didn’t want the first kiss we had to be shit.”
“It was a bit of a stupid plan,” James smiled gently.
“Yeah we know that know thanks Prongs,” Remus piped in, scratching his neck but smiling nonetheless, “Should I go and speak to him?”
“I’ll go,” Marlene smiled, walking quickly back to the tower.
