Gym Etiquette
Don’t stare at people. it’s creepy.
You sweat on it? Wipe it off with sanitizer and paper towel.
Re-rack your fucking weights.
Get out of other people’s personal space. Example: If there is a line of open treadmills, do not get on one right next to someone else (unless you know them and they are fine with it).
Wear deodorant. No one likes the stinky person.
Unless you’re rowing 100lb dumbbells and using the rack for support, do not stand/work right in front of the rack.
Don’t hog machines. Let people work in with you.
Don’t hover over someone while they’re working out. It’s creepy. Go find something else to do. If you want that piece of equipment next, ask them to let you know when they’re done and then go do something else until then.
Don’t hog equipment while having phone conversations.
If someone has earbuds in, don’t try to have a conversation with them.
Don’t make fun of overweight people. They are trying to better themselves and you being a dick does not help. Same with skinny people.
Don’t walk into someone’s space while they are exercising. If they hit you while doing lateral raises, it’s your fault.
If you’re going to drop your dumbbells, control those sons of bitches.

Hey I'm new to field hockey and was wondering how much a decent stick should cost? Also does it have to be composite to be sturdy? Please reply!
Hey sorry I'm so late on this!! New sticks are usually like $70-$125, like beginner sticks. But sticks range from just below $100-$500. Composite means a mix of materials, like fiberglass and carbon. 100% fiberglass is weak. Usually the more carbon the stronger. My current stick is 30% I believe (I'm too lazy to check rn). My first stick when I was a little kid was 100% fiberglass; my mom left it outside during the winter one day (she always tries to put them outside, I keep them in my room now) and it shattered from the cold temperature to give you an idea. But it's less stiff than carbon. There's a site called bquipped.com and they have a lot of info on different sticks and reviews from players. Also, http://www.fieldhockeyforum.com/threads/wood-vs-composite-sticks.8167/

Hi i just joined field hockey, any tips on how to stay fit and run faster? Also, are there any specific workouts u would suggest?
hey! personally i try to run for about 30-45 minutes a day when i don't have practice, it really helps with endurance. I also live in a very hilly area so it works my muscles a lot. I don't have any specific work outs, i generally go to the gym to lift once or twice a week during the school softball and hockey seasons, winter i go to the gym every day. My lifting workouts are a bit odd and specific, it’d be difficult to explain without showing. But i always try to work my shoulders (helps with power behind a swing), back (just generally good for any type of athletics), and of course legs. I’m not insane about core or arms, but I do work them out from time to time.

Work to be your best and play your heart out so when you walk off that field, they can’t help but curse your name and remember your number.
