"It's been a week though, so maybe we should pick another direction instead...?" There had to be land somewhere, she'd seen birds wheeling high in the sky a few times and birds didn't lay eggs in the ocean so there had to be land around.

This ocean was just too big.

"Well, whatever. We'll keep going for one more week and then if we don't find any land pick a new direction."

tinkering is a coping habit she has when she's stressed enough; having something to do with her hands and keeping her mind occupied and unable to spiral is always a good coping mechanism.

she is not a fan of medical appointments or procedures. she was punished as a child for illness and injury so she associated medical stuff with being punished. she'll do it if it's necessary but actively seeking out medical assistance can be hard and may take her awhile to scrape up the courage to do

running her mouth to dangerous opponents. sometimes it's a tactic to get them angry enough to make mistakes and get sloppy but most of the time it's just habit. her filter turns off without meaning to.

she tends to curl when she sleeps; as a child she had a pillow and nothing else in her room and since the base was always freezing that was the easiest way to bundle into as much of her clothing as possible and keep as warm as she could. even when she's older and no longer sleeping in freezing rooms, she still tends to default to curling as tightly as she can to sleep.

bonus that she takes up less space that way.

Exactly what happened to her under the Masked Man's care; she'll share with a select few people she trusts deeply enough to allow them to see all of her scars but for the most part she never does more than drop deeply alarming tidbits about her past without elaborating or going in depth on what she means. Most of her history between 5 and 10/11 is a blank wall for people.

Gold's already looping an arm around her shoulders like he was intending to steer this mission. An Adventure━ and with Blue? How could a guy say no to that !

"Yeah but how do jet engines work?" she clarified, mimicking him with her own belt before leaning forward to look outside again. "I've never seen one in action before." She'd only ever traveled by boat or by pokemon. "I use Puriri to fly when I need to go places. Or Kame-chan."

Did he know about Hydro Pump flight? She'd have to show him that sometime. Blue watched the ground fall away with interest, noting how smooth it actually was. Definitely a lot less jarring than getting into the air with a pokemon.

"This isn't too bad."

The image of a plane flapping it's wings made Steven chuckle a little but also... how did she not know? Whilst many had never flown on a plane before, most people at least knew that planes use jet engines. He hummed as he thought how best to describe it.

"Well, Garchomp don't flap their arms, they fly via jet boosting, similar to Latias and Latios, right? That's how planes work too. It's all the force, air resistance and torque. I myself have not flown a plane... That takes years of training and I'd rather do other things!"

As they spoke the train began to taxi across the tarmac to the runway for take off. Steven put his seatbelt on.

"It can be a little sharp on the take-off, but it's all very safe."
