daughter-of-caesarSong: Pompeii {Appropriate much?} 'And the walls came tumbling down in the city that we loved...'He was absolutey terrified, wide eyed and lip quivering as they were brought into the city. His small fists were clenched into the fabric of his sister's clothes, terrified that if he let go she might disappear too, just like mama and papa had. Ptolemy briefly wondered when they would come back and get them. He did not like the blonde man who had made them leave Egypt. He was too pale, and too small and papa should have made him afraid like he did the servants when he was mad. Yes. That would have been a very good thing for him to do. The woman who looked like him told Selene to follow, and Ptolemy held tighter to her until she knelt to his height and spoke to him gently. "She's just showing me where I will sleep. I can't sleep with you two, in a room with boys now can I?" The way his sister spoke so lightly, so calmly made him give a small smile, she wouldn't disappear too. That left him with Helios and a woman he could recall his mother speaking of...Caesarion's sister. Not his sister though, no, he only had Selene. Looking up at her he decided that since they shared a brother it would be okay to hold onto her hand and wait for Selene. And so, he did just that.

"“If people bring so much courage to this world the world has to kill them to break them, so of course it kills them. The world breaks every one and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially." —Ernest Hemingway
