study of the love note
there is something about the action of folding that is integral to the love note. once folded, it’s charged with a furtive and hopeful magic, like finishing a spell

King Frederick of Sweden received a lion as a gift and was so proud of him, that in 1731, when he died, the king wanted him preserved, but there was no taxidermist available, so he began to decay. They finally found one who likely had never seen a lion before, so this is what the king received back. To this day, King Frederik's Lion can be seen at Gripsholm Castle, a former royal residence that is now a museum in Mariefred, Södermanland, Sweden.
The taxidermist based his work on a Lion of Medieval Art.

They had a fun corner in the natural history museum in Bern about the taxidermy process, and they showed the effect the eyes have on how realistic or uh. disturbing. a mount is

The first fox had all black eyes. Not super realistic for those who know red foxes usually have orange or greenish eyes, but still pretty cute

The second one had normal fox eyes. I think they could've gone with a size or two smaller, but still. Regular orange eyes with a vertical pupil as it should be. But then. Oh. Oh no.

Drawings I’ve been working on (in order). They are going in the right direction. They are getting noisier, which I want but I’m struggling to find what the right subject is. The shadows puppets, are a start? It’s a method of projection -it as a drawing in some ways still operates as instructions- but it is a flittering image the act creates. It’s the right direction but I’m not quite there yet.
I don’t really know if it counts as a drawing, I’m doing it all by hand, or a photograph? In some ways, it is a method of rendering. Idk i find them interesting.
I need to find someone to crit and talk with me
