My online shop will be closing the months of July and August. Sorry to tease you with a picture of one of my travel mugs as those are all sold out, but I have a nice selection of other pieces of pottery in the shop. This beautiful teapot is off to its new home! Do you stop for tea time? I used to be religious about 3pm tea time and since leaving grad school and being on my own I have forgotten the habit. I think it’s time to bring the tradition back for my daughter and as as she will make great company for the time. More flowers picked from the yard. I love these shorter wide vases for displaying flowers! 🌼 Vase made by yours truly. (at Rocky Hill, Connecticut) https://www.instagram.com/p/CQOXZUrjPNV/?utm_medium=tumblr

It’s a good day. Time with my girls, eating Korean takeout, and enjoying my yard. Anyone else love eating their meals off of handmade pottery outdoors? (at Angry Tofu Korean Cuisine) https://www.instagram.com/p/CPG3gjLjig2/?utm_medium=tumblr

My favorite snack this spring has been my homemade granola bars. I am slowly but surely cleaning up my diet and that usually means making more of my own food from scratch. 🍪 I have shared my new and improved homemade granola bar recipe on my blog. Also, I am loving making flower bouquets non-stop from the yard. (at Rocky Hill, Connecticut) https://www.instagram.com/p/CPEAXF2DQLJ/?utm_medium=tumblr

Celebrated my first Mother’s Day! 🥳 I had no idea our baby girl could bring me so much joy! She just started giggling and it is the best sound a mom could ever here. Thanks @catesredpot for making a breakfast feast of your famous waffles, farm fresh bacon and eggs, and maple syrup samplers fresh from our trip to Vermont. Happy almost Mother’s Day! My online shop is reopen and now through Monday you can get 10%off gifts for all the moms in your life. 🌼 It’s tulip season in our yard so I had fun picking my own Mother’s Day flower bouquets. A hike up to Comptons Gap in Shenandoah National Park is a great way to wrap up a trip seeing family. 🥾 These old mountains warm my heart every time I see them! 🥾 It’s really special living back on the East Coast, and getting to celebrate my dads 70th Bday in person. The adventures with my daughter are in full swing. (at Compton Gap Trailhead) https://www.instagram.com/p/COVT_3MD8zv/?igshid=1cr3iajybpatd

I love old spaces, and how my sister created this beautiful little nook outside. Bushes are in full bloom in Virginia. I made a flower bouquet with one of my pitchers and clippings from the azalea bushes in the yard. https://www.instagram.com/p/CNqEmwfDCN7/?igshid=1a24gplr7mr3t

I love seeing how friends style their homes with my pottery! This little Bud vase I made was a center piece for an Easter dinner and it looks so good! 🌼 Pottery update: I have not had access to a kiln since May of 2020. Between moving to Connecticut , getting settled into our new home, having a baby, and of course impacts of COVID... there have been quite a few delays. 🌼 I do have a lot of pots made and waiting to go in a bisque firing. And I can’t wait to glaze more pots with this happy yellow color. 🌼 Getting my electric kiln installed is awaiting figuring out how big of an electrical update our house will need, and getting more quotes to decide on a contractor. 🌼 In the meanwhile, I’m loving my flowers that are coming up in the yard, and precious time with my newborn daughter. I celebrated another year of life. 🍰 Feeling totally spoiled by all the amazing food options near our home. This amazing German Chocolate cake came from @chimirrisitalianpastryshop And it’s served up on one of my plates I made during my Germany art residency. I highly recommend their cakes! I also got a lemon flavored slice of cake that was just Devine! 🍰 I’m excited for this next year and all the amazing memories I am going to make being a mom. I’m back...well maybe once a week for starters. 🌼 Being a new mom is definitely an all consuming and wonderful job. It has been really fabulous to take a break from social media, and to enjoy these new born snuggles while they last. 🌼 This morning I am thankful for my family, my first bouquet of flowers from the yard, and my bloom @stonecreekcoffee that just arrived in the mail. 🌼 Happy Friday! A new adventure will be beginning here soon! 🌲 As of tonight I will be hopping off social media for tentatively a 2 month long digital sabbatical/maternity leave. I would highly encourage every person to tryout a digital sabbatical. It’s pretty amazing just how addictive our phones are, and how freeing it can feel to take a break from them. 🌲 If you want to get in touch text me, or email me (lisayorkarts @ gmail.com). I do plan to keep my online store open. (at Rocky Hill, Connecticut) https://www.instagram.com/p/CJvqEmhDP2S/?igshid=djtoieqec3f9

I really love how flowers look in these low vases, and while we are just starting to move into the coldest part of winter I am already day dreaming about picking flowers from my yard this spring and summer. (at Rocky Hill, Connecticut) https://www.instagram.com/p/CJtT6qfDwU5/?igshid=gdnr97qn830t

The last pots to be made in 2020, and they will also be the first pots to be finished in 2021. Trying to get my hands back into clay since it’s a little chilly to woodwork outside. Also, making smaller items as I’m not sure how soon my maternity leave will start, but I definitely feel big and much more ready to become a mom. https://www.instagram.com/p/CJedhAcja0C/?igshid=eikti45ki0q7
