Headcanon the Little Wolf was Odysseus's nickname for Telemachus. The suitors use it to taunt him, but Athena shows up to help him reclaim a childhood nickname (and beat up the suitors)

The water stood still for what felt like an eternity. The wind from the bag had finally run out, carrying your ship as far from Poseidon's grasp as it could. A heavy silence hung over the deck, thick and suffocating, broken only by the shuffling of weary men—some clinging to each other for comfort, others rushing to the ship's edge to empty the last of their stomachs into the sea. You didn't blame them. You would have joined them, too, if you weren't petrified—frozen in place, mind racing a thousand miles a minute, desperately trying to make sense of what had just happened. One moment, you were sleeping peacefully. The next, over five hundred men were rotting in the depths, devoured by the horrors that lurked beneath the surface.
The force of the wind bag's release had sent you tumbling to the back of the ship, where you were caught by the railing—though not before colliding into Eurylochus. Your legs had buckled beneath you, dragging both of you to the floor. His arms had instinctively wrapped around you, but as he stirred and his bleary eyes took in the scene before him, you knew he was coming to the same grim realization as everyone else.
You, however, couldn't bring yourself to look. Your gaze remained locked onto the wooden planks beneath you, unblinking. The deflated wind bag was still clenched tightly in your grasp—too tightly. Your fingers trembled from the sheer force of your grip. You could probably tear it apart if you squeezed any harder. Maybe you already had.
Through his own grief and horror, Odysseus pressed on. He barked orders to the few men still willing to listen, commanding them to find land—any land—as long as it was far from the sea and Poseidon's wrath. The ship had taken a brutal beating, slammed and battered from all sides. It wouldn't be long before it gave in, dragging the rest of you down with it.
Eurylochus shifted, attempting to unwrap his arms from around you, but the moment he moved, you gripped his forearm and pulled him back, locking him in place. A small, broken "no" escaped your lips before you even realized you had said it. Your thoughts were spinning, the shock, the pounding of your heartbeat in your ears—it was too much. You needed something, anything, to ground you.
He hesitated, then glanced toward Odysseus, who was already watching the two of you. He gave Eurylochus an understanding nod. He buried his face in your hair and gave you a reassuring squeeze—a silent promise that he wasn't going anywhere.
From the corner of your eye, you caught a sudden movement to your right, and you flinched. The figure immediately froze.
"Sorry." They murmured.
You barely registered who it was, too lost in the storm raging inside your head. But you were sure they had asked if it was alright to join you, and you were sure you had nodded. Slowly, Eurylochus unwrapped one arm, just enough to allow Polites into your small huddle.
When you finally turned to look at him, you saw the thick streaks of tears cutting down his face. He was trying to hold them back, but failing. You reached for his hand, grasping it gently. And then, finally, you broke. Your own tears fell, spilling over in silent streams at first—then in gasping, broken sobs you couldn't swallow down anymore.
Odysseus watched from his place, the weight of failure pressing into his chest like a boulder. No matter how many orders he gave, no matter how far he sailed, nothing could change what had happened. He would carry this guilt long after you returned home. Because, of course, he would.

How protective is Poseidon in general (both for his priests and your oc (or someone he cares about in general) ?
He’s truly protective when someone matters to him. As long as he’s able, he will safeguard them—especially if they’re within his domain.
