Kovu was growing tired of lurking around in the Outlands, his mind always back to where he had first met the lioness he was beginning to think he’d never see again. There was never anything good to do out here, nothing that would put the dullness of this boring land on hold, nothing to keep his interest. There was only do what his mother told him, and try to focus his mind on what his future goal would be; Snuffing the life out of the false-King, Simba. Though, a sound ahead had his gaze traveling up from the rust-colored dirt, and he heard the patter of steps just a few paces ahead of himself, near a bit of cracked brush; Nothing rarely grew to anything luscious and green around here. The Outlands was practically a desert, and he hated it. The closest to greenery was the swamp that outlay the edges of the Pride Lands. Those were lands where they were not allowed to step foot in, and it angered him a bit. Now, though, his sights were on whatever was just ahead, and he felt his instincts immediately force his body into being on the alert, in-case of any danger comes from these rustling bushes. | @hyaeniidaes |

“Yeah, well… At least these idiots won’t ever go away. You’ll always have company, huh.” He half-smirked her way, and scratched lightly with his back-paw under his chin. Kovu didn’t like being called that, but he did not mind it that much coming from one like Vitani. She, at least, wasn’t spitting out lies to appease anyone here; Unlike the kind that Nuka would throw out, occasionally, to make himself look good. | @slsxlsawa |

The Pride Lands were safe, that much he was sure of, and he had made it his goal to keep it this way. Always ahead was his sights, always looking for anything strange or amiss in these plains. He wandered on further, past borders he know that he shouldn’t, but a flock of birds frantically flying upward had his attention, and gave him this urge to go on forward into what was considered the Outlands. He had to know what had spooked them, and if it could be dangerous for those in the Pride Lands, that he guarded with everything he has in him on a daily basis. Just as he was about to come to the edge of a small cliff, overlooking the valley of dried grass and mud below, his footing was lost as the edge gave way to his weight. Kion tumbled on down, rolling to a rough stop at the bottom, and he coughed hard as he tried to gain his senses back from the swirling dizziness. “Ugh!...” | @aggregaticn |

“Well yes. He is the King afterall,” Scar told the cub. It wasn’t a lie afterall, but telling her the whole truth right now would ruin the fun. He had no way of knowing if Simba had ever spoken about what had happened to Mufasa or even that he had an uncle. Considering how sensitive his nephew was it wouldn’t surprise him if Simba was keeping quiet about him considering he thought Scar was dead.
“Brothers? Nonsense. I am nothing but a rouge lion minding my own business in my own lands that you so confidently wanted to trespass and explore at your own whim,” Scar told her, “So why would I not tell your father that you are snooping around in places your should not be?”
“I’m sorry! Please, don’t tell him! It was stupid of me to go out this far, I know, I know... But... I couldn’t help it! He’s always going on about how dangerous of a place it is. I just had to see so for myself. You can’t blame me for my curiosity, sir...” Now, she felt really terrible about all of this, and didn’t realize that she was intruding upon someone’s land. This really isn’t a place for Pridelander’s. She concluded regrettably, and knew that if her father had any wind of her being so far out of the great plains, he’d chew her ears off! Though, all this aside, there was that still-lingering bit of wonder at just who this lion could be. No one ever mentioned rouge lions being around, and perhaps it was for her own good that she wasn’t told of them. Yet, this one didn’t seem so bad, really! What was she to be fearful of? If anything, she was more than curious to find out more about him, but guessed that he was about to send her away. “Well, I-- I can leave, if you want. I didn’t mean to intrude.” | @ashinynewera |

By the sounds of things, Simba surely had taken after his father a great deal. Though as far as advicing their cubs to stay away from the outlands were by all means were good advice. The cubs would always act out the same predictable way whenever they were refused to go somewhere.
“Your father never told you not to sass strangers?” he asked. Pondering whether to lure her into a trap she would not get out of. Or perhaps even try and win her over by playing with her assumption that he didn’t seem bad. That way he would be toying dangerously with something so dear to Simba it would be all the more delightful to destroy it, “You sound just like your father when he was a cub,” Scar said.
“Wait, you know my father??” Then she felt this sudden bit of panic building up with this knowledge, and thought she was in deep trouble the second she heard this from the other. Immediately, she tried to cover all the bases, and rushed up to him with apologies written all over her features. “Please, don’t tell him I’m out here! He’ll never understand. He doesn’t know what fun is!” She never recalled her father talking about another lion like this, as all she knew of was the other females and their respectful cubs. No one really ever spoke about their pasts, and she had always been curious, but it was out of the question to ask much out of her father. Now, she began to wonder if his troubled gazes whenever she’d bring it up, had something to do with this lion? So, of course she had to ask, after a long moment. “Are you and my father... brothers??” It was wild to assume it, but what did she know! | @ashinynewera |
