Only would have done as much harm as a Fox or Badger tbh. We live in a country where cats being outside isn't a huge deal, even the animal charities and agencies suggest you let them. Even the RSPB, and they have all the reasons ro say otherwise.
Heck, in some parts of the country we have Wild Cats, though I will admit, if we didn't let domestic cats outside, there would be more Wild Cats, as long as they're protected better that is.
"Just keep your cat inside"

This nightmare creature worked out how to open an electronic cat flap and escaped into the woods in under 24 hours of being in a new home
#i really hate the don't let cats outdoors crowd because#while their hearts are in the right place they don't really listen to others about it#it has to be dead set that and there can be no other options#it makes sense in several places#but here?#nah#banning all cats from outdoors here will cause a negative impact#though it would have some positives#for example the wild cats

Somehow I don't think "Suffering from crippling depression and anxiety and an incredible amount of bad luck that pushed me to wanting to die every day" is an acceptable answer on job applications under the "Explain your gaps"

the real challenge of adulthood that no one tells you about in advance is how many goddamn pieces of paper you have to keep up with that are never important until they are suddenly VERY important

It's been 501 years since the letter J was introduced, it's about time we got a new one.
Just like, V, W and J before it, the new letter should be an extension of another, that has more than one sound.
They should add a new letter to the english alphabet I think. Just to keep everybody on their toes.
#well double U#V and U used to be the same#written as double V due to their interchangeability#W comes from#J is an extension of I#yes this does mean his name wasn't Julius Ceasar#But Iulius instead

I used to know someone who would always air quote normal. Like "Normal" and pull a face. I'll take heteronormative over that. Though same person would probably start saying that with the same flair....
I cannot take seriously anyone who uses the term "heteronormative." I just can't. It's so pretentiously pseudointellectual.
Thoughts?
It's a stupid term. You can just say "normal". It has less letters and syllables.

I didn't get the level 2 TA entry position I went for because, despite doing well and the kids liking me, they hired someone with experience instead.
Which is really annoying.

It's really fun having 2 brothers. Especially when one has gone far right and the other far left. The get togethers are exciting!

Fun fact, in my experience of teaching at least, we have aids to help if a pupil has a disability that hinders their writing ability. These are mainly used by the visually impaired students, but are also very useful for a range of other types of disabilities.
Basically, this is accounted for, at least in primary.
An ex-colleague of mine was complaining to me the other day about the ai problem in her students' papers, and I told her, "Just make your students hand-write them in class. Easy." She looked at me like I was insane and tried to explain how that would never work, but I just said,"That's how we did it for a thousand years. The invention of word processors doesn't erase all that."
To me it seems obvious. Readings are done out of class, handwritten essays are done within it. No more ai papers.
