1. First, you need to know that each language is a different language. No language was made looking at the rules of another, so you cannot expect the system of pronunciation in French to be the same as that in English or any other language that looks like it. 2. French is derived mainly from Latin which accounts for about 60% of English vocabulary either directly or via a romance language. French also includes words from Gaulish and Germanic languages

TEF CANADA EXAM PREPARATION GUIDE
The TEF Canada exam is an official proof of French language proficiency recognized by the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) and the Quebec Ministry of Immigration and Cultural Communities (MICC) for permanent residency applications, Quebec Selection Certificate applications and Canadian citizenship applications. It is a French language test for francophones and non- native French learners structured to assess their linguistic skills in four linguistic abilities: Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing.
TEF Canada Exam Modules
The TEF Canada exam has the following 4 sub- tests: ● Oral expression (Speaking) (EO): 15 minutes: Face- to- face with examiner ● Oral comprehension (Listening) (CO): 40 minutes: Computer- based (Headphones are provided) ● Reading Comprehension (Reading) (CE): 60 minutes: Computer- based ● Written Expression (Writing) (EE): 60 minutes: Computer- based The assessment scale is based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) by the Council of Europe. It is assessed as per 6 proficiency levels (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2). As per the Canadian Language Competence (CLB), there are 12 levels. Your performance in each sub- test in the exam is assessed through a 7- level scale, from level 0 (basic proficiency) to level 6 (highly proficient).
