Final Project
For my final project, I chose to create a video about Coronavirus(Covid-19). Throughout the process of creating my final project, I used various news sources and images from news articles to create a piece on Covid-19. In my project, I wanted to establish a cohesive video in which I convey the effects Covid-19 has had on the world and will continue to have for years to come. As the world continues to change and new normals are established, we need to remember to care for one another. We should all come together and unite during these unprecedented, difficult times. As stated in the video, “we are all in this together” and together, we are stronger. Although we cannot see each other in person, we still can connect. Through technology and other forums, we can connect and unite.

Exercise #6
Throughout the semester, I attempted to film a one-second clip every day; what I shot varied from videos of the weather to clips of my friends and me. Due to the circumstances related to Covid-19, the shots I filmed changed significantly. I was no longer going out, seeing my friends, or at school. Therefore at home, I began filming clips of my dogs, my coffee, the weather, and the lake I live near. The content I was shooting was different from what I had filmed earlier in the semester. However, I think what I filmed in quarantine is better than what I had previously filmed. The shots I took from my house and the areas near where I live are more aesthetic, and the compositions are better. Having more free time has allowed me to spend more time filming my one-second a day clips, and as a result, the quality of my clips improved.
Due to Covid-19, the current climate of the world has significantly changed in more aspects than we can imagine. My perspective of the world has evolved during this time as I have been able to reflect and think about my self and the world that surrounds me. As an artist, my view of the world has changed. I have found more appreciation for nature and have been embracing its beauty in these uncertain times. In many ways, the world is experiencing grief and chaos. But in light of this, nature has given me an escape, a place of serenity and beauty.

Amanda Maciuba Exhibit
As the Crow Does Not Fly, 2019
Screen Printed artist’s book

I found Amanda Maciuba Exhibit to be very interesting and I really enjoyed seeing her work. Amanda Maciuba’s piece As the Crow Does Not Fly was a piece in her exhibit that I was very drawn to visually. I thought the muted colors and warm tones of yellow, green and orange helped convey a sense of serenity. The colors used in this piece are not very contrasting and as result the colors create a relaxed tone. Additionally, the use of colored paper to create this exhibit formed texture within the work. Amanda Maciuba used paper cut outs in this piece and by layering pieces of paper and making certain cut outs larger or smaller she conveyed dimension within the piece. Amanda Maciuba also used green, yellow and brown colors to paint the land and convey the look of a birds eye view of the world below.
