This one was such a nostalgia trip, omg. I've been dying to draw some Witcher stuff again and I had to start with drawing Regis for the first time in yearsssss I'd love to draw some more characters like this soon <3 some of you have been asking about Yen and I really want to draw Vesemir and Roche again!

More Modern AU (first part here)... Expanded a bit of the True Detective AU part but again there's not really a consistent setting (cuz if I had that ability I would have been a writer instead). But it could be if you want it to. I'll hide my loose ideas under the cut.

True Detective AU version of the book scene cause it'll never be too much.

Yes THE scene. And I imagine in this AU Regis exposed himself to protect Geralt too hehe, and they had been partners for a bit longer at this point, that's why he's so smug here, cause he's sure Geralt won't really hurt him. So an even more flirtatious version of the scene, cause why not.

General settings/vibes, naturally with Geralt being a loner/stubborn/somewhat problematic detective, while Regis is the most reliable one in the precinct, with suspiciously encyclopedic knowledge.

I have not even decided whether it's a world where magic, monsters and witchers still exist, or an actual modern world(well cause I'm just drawing not writing). I think it works either way, although I do prefer a modern witcher setting.

Two scenarios I imagine. 1. it could be a x-files kinda situation (sorry if this is a wrong reference I have yet to watch it) where both possibilities exist. Geralt from the witcher's special department got partnered with Regis on a specific case (then well how the turn tables!)

2. Or Geralt could just be a private detective/witcher let's not be cops. And Regis was just an outsider that got fascinated by Geralt and somewhat got involved (just like the books, my boy's a romantic)

Ok, I do not know where I'm going with this, but just putting it out there. Who knows, maybe someone sees this and comes up with something better.

Modern AU stuff compilation! It's all pretty random and doesn't have a consistent setting. But it's fun.

I'll leave stuff for your imagination here. But master @tio-trile said that they're watching The Exorcist (1973) (which kills me), and that Geralt's favorite ice cream flavor would be super sweet stuff like rocky road which is literally perfect...

Also who would write a true detective modern au pls??? I'll give you my soul

I finally got this thing out of my head. Texts are from "My Last Thought Before I Succumb to Sleep". I'll keep the context and my mumbles under the cut.

I originally planned for the time to be some point after the gwent journey story, depends on whether you view it as canon, I guess. But in general, it's just some time after his regeneration, Regis finds himself walking through this world all alone, again.

I'm yet to finish the books, I'm not sure whether the books would make it even more devastating for me, or would they prove these texts inaccurate. (Please no spoilers)

But I just wanted to make something for it, on its own. Something about it that really gets me is that it cuts open the other side of an perfect, calm, restrained, even saint-like character, so harshly that I cannot stop thinking about it. All his pain, his shame and his vulnerability that he would not show to others, to those he cares for and takes care of.

And in my heart I especially believe this selected part to be true. Cause it's indeed his path, one that neither side would really understand, one that he chose knowing this, one that he has doubts about (I think it's inevitable) yet still carries on.

He's someone who doesn't belong.

And that's what makes me love him so much and want to give him all the best things. But I still have to get this out of me, I'm sorry.

Here are the lineworks, cause I struggled hard and I do not know what it better. I'm not entirely happy with this thing but I have to move on. Maybe I'll continue working on the landscape sometime, maybe not.
