“Wow mentor, he sounds like a great guy, very smart, very wise, I’m sure you like him a lot?” Tony was convinced that he had been that mentor so he wanted to play a little, it was nice to feel that 10 years haven’t gone by between them. Tony cleared his throat and looked at her I work at the Danse Noire, I’m the manager” He wasn’t really ashamed of his work, he actually had a job and that was a lot to say, even if it also meant getting his hand dirty but he also felt a strong need to make his sister proud, and he wasn’t really sure if she would. He smirked “Sounds as a plan, I a lame cook, but I’m a fantastic helper so just tell me what to do and I’ll do it”
“Oh, sure. Super smart and wise. Also a giant block-head, but I do love his smug ass,” she agreed with a laugh. If anyone had ever asked Lilith about who, besides her parents, was the biggest influence in her life, her answer would have been her family; Meredith and Tony. They were the ones who gave her a feeling of purpose and a sense of wholeness for the first time in the years since she’d lost her parents. Danse Noire. Lilith had heard of it, of course, but she’d never been there. Not like she had a reason to visit. “Manager? Damn, that’s impressive.” What they did at the club didn’t matter so much as the fact that it was a big business, and for Tony to be in charge of the whole thing? She was proud of him. She knew he would be the type who would actually take care of the employees, unlike others. “Do you enjoy the work?” That was the part that truly mattered. If Tony didn’t actually enjoy the job or take pride in it himself, it wouldn’t matter how important the job was. “You always were the best helper in the kitchen.”

Even Malachai found it difficult to believe Rydell agreed to go on a date with him. So it came to no shock others were surprised he managed to finally get her to say yes. “Yeah, truth be told I didn’t see it coming either. Not sure what actually made her say yes. I like to say all the constant attention, but I think that really just annoyed her. Just maybe she saw something in me that wasn’t there before. I dunno.” He said with a shrug. “But I think our date went well.” Kai chuckled as he nodded, “yeah, gentleman caller. What else am I supposed to call him? Or y’all official yet? Like real life boyfriend and girlfriend?” Hearing her bakery was doing well, his eyes lit up. “Awesome, you are gonna have to bake me something soon. One of my best friends is actually going to baking school or something. She is amazing. You need to meet her, I think you like her and be impressed with her skills.” Hearing about Alex, he nodded happily. He didn’t know much about the guy, besides Daniel was friends with him. And well any friend of Dan’s was a friend of his. “That’s great, happy for you. You deserve someone you makes you feel special. I mean, I’ve always know you were awesome. Glad someone else see how great you are.”
Kai took another drink from his beer as he looked around. “Anyway, what is going on? It has been awhile so you need to catch me up on things. You and Alex unexpected, but have you two gone on a date? Are things getting serious? Tell me everything.”
She would admit she was impressed. Lilith didn't think there was anyone who could get past that werewolf's walls, but if anyone could, it'd be Kai. "Maybe she finally just opened her eyes and saw the guy the rest of the world sees?" she countered, not really feeling sympathetic toward Rydell so much as she did toward Kai. He was a good guy, and honestly, even with his immaturity, she was sure he would treat any woman well. "Regardless, I'm glad you think it went well." Then again, Kai was prone to optimism where most people wouldn't have any. Sometimes Lilith wished she could be more like the warlock in that respect.
"If that's the case, send her my way, man. I'd rather hire someone I sort of know rather than a stranger. Or, I guess at least someone who's a friend of a friend? You know what I mean. I can't continue without help for much longer, so I need to suck it up and figure out how to be a boss," she admitted with a grimace, not being a fan of being in charge of anyone but herself. The grimace was replaced by a flush of red in her cheeks, the shifter ducking her head to take a sip of her drink. "I'm not that awesome. I certainly didn't expect it either, but the more I started to think about it, the more sense it made. We've been best friends for awhile - I think it's always maybe been a little closer than that, but I wasn't willing to admit it." Lilith paused for a moment, thinking over her relationship with Alex, a warm smile creeping over her features at the thought of him. "He's so sweet. I wouldn't say we've gone on like, an official date, but you know me. I don't need anything fancy, and he knows that. It feels serious though, and I know he's serious. We just-- it's easy and comfortable, but new and exciting at the same time. I swear I'm not even making sense," she finally finished with a laugh. "Enough about me though. How exactly did your date go with Rydell?"

jez-dragoumis:
Both of the blonde’s eyebrows rose in question when Lilith asked if she was looking for Tony, almost asking why she would assume that but then thinking better of it. It made sense, she supposed, that Lilith would consider that a possibility since Jez had made it clear that she and Tony had become friends during their time in each other’s lives. Except maybe she had downplayed how much she cared for Tony. And since then? Well, things had gotten a fair bit more complicated between the two of them then just simple friends. When she had met Lilith? Tony hadn’t yet let the proverbial cat out of the bag about liking her as more than a friend. Flash forward through a lot of internal turmoil, a near disastrous movie night that ended in a makeout and a full on blow out with her twin and friends didn’t seem to cover it anymore.
“Another day, another family dinner actually,” the witch mused, shrugging her shoulders slightly as she approached the counter. “And last time Mama was so tickled I stopped inhere and brought cupcakes she asked me to do it again. Not sure if Kai is gonna be by this time- he’s got a lot of his own stuff going on lately- but the-promise of free food will probably draw him in. Boy could never turn down a free meal.”
Surely the witch knew Tony was living above the bakery - though the curious look shown by her eyebrows made Lilith second guess that assumption. Ah well, the verbal answer proved her initial thought was incorrect anyway. "Well I'm glad she enjoys them still!" She offered another genuine smile - it was those loyal customers who kept her in business, and even helped her little shop grow in popularity. Word of mouth was a powerful thing in a city like New Orleans. At the mention of Kai, the shifter let out a soft chuckle, shaking her head in bemusement. "I have no doubt of that. Last time I saw him I thought he was going to stuff himself silly with sweets here." Not that she begrudged him that, given the helpful tip he'd offered in return. "So, you guys have these family dinners often?" she questioned, unable to stop herself from wondering what it would be like to have a family as large as the Dragoumis clan.

@lilithxcarlisle
She supposed she was lucky, catching a break with such a decent looking place. When Alicia got the chance she’d have to tell – her friends – about the opportunity. With everyone graduating she was a bit surprised no one else snatched it up. The brunette held the door as some guests left before entering herself. She had no idea what to bring - what to prep for, it wasn’t like school gave them any real instruction on the beginning aspect but she did bring a container of her famous snickerdoodle cookies hoping to top it off.
“Hi – Lilith? – I’m Alicia, sorry if I’m early.”
While her interviewee was newly graduated, she did come recommended by a mutual friend in the form of Kai. Something he reminded Lilith of while he stuffed several of her cupcakes in his mouth during his visit. It was the main reason she'd taken the sign out of her window advertising her need for help. Now that business had picked up, Lil definitely needed at least one helping hand around, possibly even more, but considering she wasn't sure she'd be a decent boss, one employee seemed like a good start.
When a few of her last minute customers straggled out, Lilith looked up in time to see the brunette step in, offering the younger girl -a human - a smile. Well. Kai hadn't mentioned that his friend was human, and while it would be easy to assume she knew all about the supernatural world, Lilith wasn't going to be the one to burst that particular bubble if she didn't. "Nope! Right on time," she assured her, stepping out from behind the counter and moving over to lock the door behind the woman, flipping the sign to 'closed' before she gestured at one of the small tables. "Shall we?"

Since the first time Lilith had run into Tony's... 'friend', Jez, she and Tony had had more opportunities to talk. She could admit that she'd taken some of her hurt and frustration out on the woman unfairly, but she hadn't expected to find out that her brother had been around for quite some time before seeking her out. She couldn't help but feel a little low after that, as though she was low priority for him, even if deep down she knew it wasn't true.
She'd told herself she'd apologize the next time the opportunity arose, but she hadn't seen Jez in awhile. At least until she looked up from the counter, almost as if by instinct, and spotted the witch outside the bakery, seeming as though frozen in indecision. Lilith couldn't help but smile at the realization that the last encounter had probably been just as uncomfortable for Jez as it was for her. At least that put them back on even footing. Not wanting to seem like a predator lying in wait, the shifter went back to her business, rearranging the display case until she heard the bell chime above the door. Straightening up, she made sure that Jez knew she recognized her before she offered a welcoming smile, leaning up against the counter. "Hey, Jez! Are you back on family business or were you looking for Tony?"
So, the first time she had been to the bakery? Kind of a disaster. Or close to one. Jez had a tendency to be a babbling idiot when she wasn’t sure what to say or do and that had most definitely been the case. Somehow she had said the wrong thing pretty early on- okay, it was probably letting Lilith know that she had known Tony for a couple of months already before the siblings reunited that did it. But regardless, it had been mostly a disaster and so it wasn’t like the witch had really wanted to go back. Nothing against the shifter that owned the place. She was sure once you got to know Lilith she was great. Hell, Tony loved her to pieces and Kai liked her so she doubt the woman could be bad at all. The witch was just awkward.
But oh the things she did for her mother. Despite the fact that her family was definitely a source of strife and discomfort for her at times Jez would do almost anything for them. It was a juxtaposition that even the people that knew her the best sometimes struggled with. How could she hate and love them in equal parts? She wasn’t even sure. But her mother had asked her to make the trip to the bakery once again before a family dinner and so once against Jez found herself in front of Lilith’s shop. And somehow not being able to go in. At least not for several beats before she convinced herself it hadn’t been that bad, right? So with that hopeful thought in mind the witch took a deep breath and opened the door to the bakery, stepping inside and hoping this time her mouth wouldn’t run away with her. Fat chance. @lilithxcarlisle

Once again, Alex couldn’t stop himself from grinning at her teasing, and sent her a playful wink. Unfortunately the conversation took a more serious turn, though he knew they would have to talk about it at some point. Better to get it out of the way now. The worst thing that could happen was one of them bringing up a deal-breaker that somehow hadn’t been thought of before. “I know you are. I am too,” he assured. He didn’t take her honesty for granted. His heart couldn’t help but clench in his chest at the thought of people hating Lilith. While he knew it to be true, it wasn’t something he thought about. There were people out there that could hurt her. She could take care of herself as well as anyone, but even she couldn’t guarantee her safety. Life itself was unsafe, yes, but know there were people out there that wanted to hurt her for something she couldn’t control terrified him. “Yeah, I considered it. I don’t know much about it yet though, so it’s not like I got very far.” There was a lot that came with the knowledge that their children would be halflings. Way too much for him to even try to process when he hadn’t thought he and Lilith would ever get together. “What are you trying to say?”
God, she could only hope he wouldn’t change his mind after hearing all of this. “Okay, well, there’s a fifty percent chance that they’ll be shifters like me… but there’s also a fifty percent chance they’ll be human like you.” Normal, she had wanted to say, but refrained. “If they’re human, that’s pretty much all well and good, they can live normal lives and honestly wouldn’t have to worry about the supernatural world. It’s not like anyone can really tell they had a supernatural parent.” Then there was the flip side. “If they’re shifters though, because one of their parents is a human, they’ll be looked at as halflings, and unfortunately a lot of members of the supernatural world look down on halflings. As if supers can help who fate decides to pair them with or who they choose.” Halflings still had all of the same abilities as their supernatural parent so it wasn’t as if they were actually any lesser. “I guess what I’m getting at is our kids could have a somewhat harder life… but also you should know what you’re getting into, in case you don’t want to have to worry about what your kids will be.” While Alex didn’t seem to have an issue with shifters and the like, she still didn’t know if he’d want to have his children turn out like her.

“That seems like cheating if you ask me, but hey I can use a training so maybe fighting a panther could look good on my resume, not sure when that might come handy.” He smirked, of course, he knew his sister was far larger in her animal form, it was funny how someone of her frame could get such a height different animal, but he could see how in spirit she could be like one. “You do know that wasn’t me trying to take advantage, I mean we don’t have to make anything we can just order something, smoke and eat junk, and drink beer. You just have to tell me when are you free I don’t want to interrupt another date with your friend “ Tony smirk at his sister, of course, she could see behind her denial that the guy had a thing for her and that she did too, which made him actually happy, happy that she had someone special in her life, cause she deserved to feel that kind of love and to have a nice guy in her life. “Wow no need to get hissy fit, I was just kitten-around”
"Cheating?" She gave him a mock offended glare. "I'll have you know that my mentor taught me to use everything in my arsenal if that's what it took to win," she shot back, knowing full well he knew he was the one who had taught her that. "I'm curious what kind of resume you'd be putting that on though." Which reminded her that she didn't even know what sort of job he had now. He'd mentioned work, but hadn't elaborated. "Speaking of, where are you working?" Tony's quick interjection had her holding up her hands to forestall his worries as best she could, an affectionate smile on her face. "I know you're not. I never thought you would. Doesn't mean we can't make an awesome cake together." Her eyes narrowed once more at his jokes, a disgusted scoffing noise coming from her throat as she elected to focus on his horrible puns over comments on Alex. "Wow. I can see our time apart hasn't improved your jokes."

malachai-dragoumis:
Life tended to get in the way a lot. For one reason or another, Lilith and Malachai have not met up in some time. Lilith now wrapped in an actual relationship, while Kai spent his time pining after a woman that hardly let him get close her. Whatever the reason the other had for not being able to make it disappeared when they both finally decided it had been far too long since they interacted.
Per usual, Kai was running late. It never seemed to fail, the man hardly was ever on time. As he entered the bar, he noticed the brunette and sat down next to her. “You’re a peach,” he smiled reaching for his beer. “Uh, things are going fairly good. Manage to finally get that date with Rydell. And got a new job at this club as a bartender. Oh and got a roommate. Pretty cool guy. Anyway, what about you? How is the bakery? And your gentleman caller?”
Being an adult was complicated; more complicated than she had thought as a kid. Priorities shifted and you didn't always get to do what you wanted to, but sometimes things lined up - like free time - and Lilith knew enough to take advantage of the opportunity. The smile on her face showed she didn't hold the gap between visits against her friend.
She chuckled at Kai's offhand comment, unable to keep from thinking that a peach hardly described her, but that was how Kai had always been. Generally upbeat and kind. She couldn't honestly think of a time she'd seen him mad at someone. "Wow, really?" Rydell was a frequent topic of conversation with him. Lilith didn't know the werewolf well, but she did know Kai had been pining for her for a long while. "No offense to you, but I gotta admit I didn't see that coming. What made her finally cave?" While she was happy for him to have a new job and a little surprised he'd found a roommate, Rydell was definitely the biggest news, so she figured they'd hit the other stuff later. With a chuckle at his phrasing, she arched a brow. "'Gentleman caller?' You make me feel like some southern belle. But the bakery is doing well - think I might hire help soon, actually. And Alex is... still unexpected, honestly. It definitely wasn't something I went looking for, y'know? But it just, I dunno… we click. I think it all worked out the way it was supposed to, I guess."

Everyone had flaws, but not everyone had ways of balancing them out, so Lilith just shrugged. Even Tony had flaws, and she loved him more than words could say. Kai had never come across as even capable of cruelty, which is one of the reasons that Lilith had been able to actually open up to him even that little bit. Other people had given her a fear that they were only trying to talk to her to tear her down - Kai only ever came across as kind and curious. “That’s good,” she replied to the other woman’s instinct, nodding her head. She didn’t know anything about Jez or the chaotic mess thing she was talking about, but she had no problems imagining Tony being somewhat of a calming influence. It was one of those paradoxes he encompassed. As tall as he was and as intimidating as he might look, he was really a gentle giant who just had that calming air about him. Lilith’s brow arched at the last comment, her head tilting to the side. “All the girls at the club?”
Had what she said about Tony come across as weird? Sometimes Jez wondered why she was allowed to speak to people she didn’t know very well. More often than not it seemed she either sounded strange or insane. Maybe neither was completely far off. Had to be a little crazy to be from her family. But the more she spoke? The more she wished she wasn’t allowed to. “Yeah, well,he’s the manager. The girls have to feel like they can trust him. To keep them safe, to keep their job in order. And they seem to. Like they know he actually cares about their well-being. Your brother is definitely one of the good ones even if sometimes I don’t know he sees just how good he is.” Now is a good time to stop talking. “Anyway,I’ve kept you long enough rambling on. Could talk someone to death my yaya always said. But…thanks. For the cupcakes. And I’ll be sure to let my mama know her favorite baker in the city made them.” Casting the other woman a quick smile Jez made her way for the door pausing only briefly to turn back to Lilith. “And by the way- I’m glad you got Tony back in your life. Family is important.” And with that the witch offered one last smile and exited the shop.

Tony finished the cookies chuckling at his sister’s comment “You really think you could beat me up now, huh?” There was no way he would even fight her, to prove him wrong, but it was fun to tease her because it was what it makes things feel at home and familiar. He laughed “We can make it a space cake and we can just watch some cartoon movie, with milk?” Tony wanted to say something more serious about not going back to jail again, but it seemed a joke would fit better in their conversation. He was quite amused about his sister’s reaction and it was for it that he would not let it go so easily “The one you were going all chick-flick movie within your kitchen, is he your loooverboy?”
“Of course I could,” she replied with a cocky grin. “You might still be bigger than me, but I could always shift and just sit on you.” It felt odd to be joking with Tony the way they used to, but it also felt right. Like a missing piece of her had finally clicked back into place. “Hey man, whatever you want, we’ll make it.” While Lilith knew he wasn’t exactly fresh out of jail anymore, it still felt like it to her, so she was willing to do whatever he wanted to do. And apparently what he wanted to do was dig at her weak spot. She let out a groan, shaking her head and closing her eyes for a moment. “You are seriously just like a dog with a bone, you know that?” Her eyes opened again as she stared her brother down. “I already told you, Tony. Alex is a friend. Not my loverboy. Not my boyfriend. He’s my friend. Gonna let it go now, Fido?” Maybe she was denying it just a little too hard, but it wasn’t something she wanted to be overthinking.

One of the perks of being your own boss was the ability to set your own hours, which included closing up shop a little early if you decided you to. That’s exactly what Lilith had done for the day - nothing too out of the ordinary for a Thursday. Business was usually pretty slow during the evening hours anyway. It meant she got an early start on the baking for the next day which also meant she finished everything early. Lil had been closing early more often than not, ever since she and Alex had started dating, but tonight she intended to hang out with Kai, since it had been awhile since they’d last caught up.
They’d agreed to meet at their usual hangout; one of the out of the way bars that tended to be free of tourists more often than not, and Lilith beat her friend by a good twenty minutes, as usual. She didn’t mind though, it was just how he’d always been, and she found it somewhat endearing. When he finally walked through the door, she stood up on the rungs of her stool to give her some added height, waving the warlock over to where she already had a drink ordered for him. “Hey!” she chirped, giving him a brief hug before sitting back down. “Been awhile, how are things in your life?” @malachai-dragoumis

“Top 10? Wow. I’ll take that,” he laughed. He knew that he was attractive, but it wasn’t something he thought about often, or even worse let it get to his head. It didn’t matter how many people thought he looked good. As long as Lilith found him attractive, that was all he cared about. A few things came to Alex’s mind when she mentioned other thoughts and worries. How many was too many to mention in the first few hours of a relationship? But there was one that he wanted to mention that had been a large worry of his the past few days. One that he needed to know her thoughts on. “If we’re being completely honest here… I’m scared about how me being a human might affect us. I mean, I know it hasn’t affected us before really, but things are going to be different now. There are a lot of things I won’t be able to do.” He couldn’t blame her if she would’ve preferred him to be non-human, not that he could change it (okay, he could get bitten, but he wasn’t doing that). Despite his high athleticism compared to most other humans, it wasn’t able to match hers by even half. He would never be able to fully understand that part of her life. Not to mention the kids he wanted to have. Supernatural children was not a topic he was knowledgeable on. “I don’t know how well they’ll be able to appreciate the homemade nature of them, but I’m sure there’s plenty of things you could make that they would like if that’s what you want to do.”
Lilith couldn’t stop herself from elbowing Alex just a little bit harder at his return jest, giving him a faux admonishing look. “Oh come on, you know you’re definitely top. At least for some of us. Those with taste, anyway.” There was truth in her words even if they were playing with each other. She waited patiently as he gathered his thoughts after her question, not wanting to rush him. His admission had her biting her lip to keep from immediately jumping in and interrupting him, wanting to refute his worry, but she gave him time to finish and thought before she spoke again. “Well, we are being honest. At least I’m trying to be.” She studied his face for a moment, trying to think of how their differences would be an issue. “If it makes you feel any better, I worry about the same thing, just that there will be something about me being a shifter that will cause issues. I mean…” Lilith dropped her eyes for a minute before taking a breath and looking up at him again. “I know you’re not one of them, but there are humans out there who hate people like me. And our kids-- have you considered that?” She was certain it had crossed his mind, but she also wasn’t sure how much he knew about halflings and how they were perceived.

He snorted and responded with his mouth full “Well you either got way better than I remember or it just my new way of seeing food that makes his cookies hundred times better.” Tony did saw food differently after all his years in jail. He didn’t really have much to eat while he was locked down, in fact, he felt like he spent most of his days almost starving, especially when someone tried to fought him or calling him dog and throwing his food to the floor so he would eat it on the floor. “Dumbasses” He smirked at his sister and poke her. “Nah, I probably would have eaten them too without even noticing so let’s not put anything other than food on the food.” He put one of the cookies full on the milk and took a large bite of it, before taking a sip of the milk “What about the guy? Is he, you know?”
Lilith rolled her eyes, amused that clearly some things didn’t change, including her brother’s boyish lack of manners at times. At least this time around he didn’t stick his tongue out at her. “Let’s go with both, how’s that? I don’t know that I’ve gotten any better, but I have learned some new tricks here and there.” Besides her ability to fight and take care of herself, her baking prowess was one of the few things Lilith was most proud of. She let out a laugh at his ‘dumbass’ comment, secretly pleased that he thought so highly of her skills still. “Dumbasses is right. Hell, I might even be able to take you now,” she teased with a wink knowing it was probably not true. She could easily overpower him in panther form, but doing so in human form was a much harder task. “Well it’s not like I’m gonna bake you an escape cake now. Wouldn’t do you much good at this point.” Her eyes followed the cookie’s path, her head cocking to the side and her gaze becoming a little more guarded. “Which guy, and is he what, exactly?”

He laughed with her and started to look around the bakery to see what he could get to have a quick bite, he was amazed by how there were so many options and all of them looked to great but eventually, he took some cookies that seemed to have salt and chocolate on it and took a seat right in front of her, he listed to her and took a bit, letting out a growl “What the fuck? These are… holy shit Lil, since when did you become this good” Tony smirked at his sister “Well they were assholes, they should have known better. But hey their stupidity made you have all this, how much fights are we talking?” He took another bite “Fucking hell I could have gone so many cigarette boxes by trading them one of this. Also, do you have milk somewhere?”
If he had asked, Lilith would have gotten him anything he wanted, but she loved the fact that Tony made himself comfortable by rummaging around and grabbing some cookies before sitting down. She snorted at his growled out comment, beaming with his compliment and shrugging her shoulders. “Since I kept baking all these years, I guess. I didn’t really think I’d gotten any better... Maybe it’s just that you haven’t had any of my baking in so long?” Her eyes rolled playfully as he continued to compliment her, her cheeks flushing. “If they’d have known who taught me, maybe they wouldn’t have been so quick to dismiss me,” she retorted playfully. “Uh... too many to count, honestly. And if I’d known where you were, I could’ve sent you all kinds of goodies. Maybe even one of those cakes with the files in it like you see in the movies!” Without even answering out loud, she nodded her head at Tony’s question, rising from her seat and making her way to the kitchen area, coming back with a tall glass of milk and setting it in front of him along with a few more cookies.

“My brother has his faults but not being kind isn’t one of them. Even when he makes you mad or hurts you it’s never intentional and even if he’s bad at showing it? He’s always sorry. He just doesn’t have it in him to be intentionally cruel.” It was something Jez rarely admitted to herself but only because as his sister? She had a different take on him than most people. Having literally spent her entire life with him- or rather his – she had seen all sides of him. And while he could make her madder than she thought possible and hurt her with his lack of thought at times? She knew in her heart Kai never meant any of it to turn out that way. It was why she could never hate him. Be mad? Yes. Get hurt? Sure. But never hate him. His good heart made that an impossibility. “Oh, I don’t doubt your brother’s good heart,” the witch replied after a moment, shaking her head slightly. “Had an instinct about him from the day we met. Just knew right away he was someone I could trust and he’s done nothing but prove me right. I can be a little bit of a chaotic mess and Tony is always nice and kind and making me laugh to calm down the rapid fire in my brain. Ain’t hard to see the good heart in him. I think the girls at the club see it, too.”
Everyone had flaws, but not everyone had ways of balancing them out, so Lilith just shrugged. Even Tony had flaws, and she loved him more than words could say. Lilith’s brow arched at the last comment, her head tilting to the side. “All the girls at the club?”

Alex nodded. “Well, if it makes you feel better, my dating life hasn’t been the most exciting either. But even if you don’t believe you’re worthy of an amazing guy, you are, and I didn’t like thinking about the possibility of some guy sweeping you off your feet. Especially if he was sexier than me,” he joked. He knew that it took a lot for Lilith to let people close. If he could be close to her, there was every possibility another man could. It would take some time to stop thinking about that fear. He also knew that she’d had her fair share of sexual partners over the years, and he didn’t hold it against her. His biggest worry was himself. Not being able to live up to her expectations, especially with his human stamina. Whatever he lacked in skill, he hoped the trust and love between them would be able to make up for it. “I know that. Like I said, my thoughts weren’t the most logical ones I’ve had.” He grinned. In his opinion, Lilith was the perfect size. “I’m not quite sure. We might have to test some things out and see what they like the best. I usually just feed em fruits and veggies as treats.” Alex was willing to buy whatever they wanted if it would get them to like Lilith.
In a weird way it was sweet to hear Alex was a little bit jealous, even if he was teasing her with part of his words. She hadn’t ever been the jealous sort before, but then again she’d never been with someone she actually cared about. All of her hookups, even the ones she came back to time and time again, were nothing more than friends at best. “I think it’d take a lot to find someone like that,” she teased right back, pretending to think about it for a minute. “I mean, you’re definitely one of like, the top 10 hottest guys in New Orleans…” The smile on her face gave her away, but she didn’t care. It was nice that they could be like this and still feel like themselves together, almost as though nothing had changed even though everything had. “Alright, well… What other illogical thoughts and worries are you having that I can help dispel, hmm?” She wasn’t sure if he would want to share any of them just yet, but if she had the chance to soothe any of his other worries, she would. “Horses like sugar, right? And carrots?” Her brain was already running through the possibilities of horse friendly cupcakes, wondering what they could and couldn’t digest. “Maybe I could do horse cakes? Cookies? Homemade treats? There’s gotta be something like that on the internet…”
