Strong words to use on a Resume
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you have ever had to write a resume for work or for an application, then you know the hardest part is figuring out what type of words to use that sound professional and and intelligent.
Example: If an application asks you if you have any relevant experience for a job at a day care center and you have experience, like you have babysat children. You would look at the words in the columns to see what words you should use that will help your resume stand out. You might put down “Have supervised and attended to children on a regular basis.”
I hope this is helpful to you.

Bacon Bread
It’s been a week or two since I updated, since classes started up again. But I have gotten so many requests for this one that I have to get this one out there. It’s time for bakin’ bread. Or should I say, it’s time for BACON BREAD!
Tumblr media
Embarrassing fact about me: despite being a young woman with rather long hair, I have never learned how to braid. Trying to watch Youtube tutorials about how to braid with your hands covered in dough is… an experience. I think I finally got it down, though. It almost looks like challah!
Tumblr media
This bread is not the healthiest thing. But it’s worth the calories (and the Poetics) for good bacon. I really like the smoky saltiness of the bacon against the soft, fluffy bread and the savory thyme, and this is going to make some amazing sandwiches. I’m thinking a Gruyere and avocado grilled cheese….

Bacon Bread!
¾ cup milk
1 tbsp sugar (I used maple for authenticity, but table sugar is fine)
1 packet active dry yeast
pinch of salt
2 eggs
6 tbsp butter
About 3 ½ cups of flour, might be a little more or less depending on many factors (humidity, altitude, temperature, etc)
5 or 6 slices of thick-sliced bacon
pinch of dried thyme
Heat your milk (microwave is fine) until it’s warm, about 110 degrees Fahrenheit. Pour the milk into a large mixing bowl and add 1 tbsp maple sugar (or table sugar) and 1 packet of active dry yeast. Let the yeast have some time to wake up (I let mine proof for ten minutes or so.) It should look kind of lumpy and bubbly and smell distinctly bready. Once the yeast is done proofing, add a pinch of salt and 2 eggs (beaten), then begin adding the flour 1 cup or so at a time and incorporating it into the dough. When the dough is beginning to look less like a pile of flour and more like, well, bread dough, add 6 tbsp of melted butter and begin kneading. Knead it until you can form an elastic ball of dough that stays together. It should look shiny and smooth.
Put the dough in a greased or nonstick bowl and lightly cover, either with loose foil or a damp kitchen towel. Let it hang out at room temperature until it’s doubled in volume (took about 45 minutes for me.) While you’re waiting for your dough to rise, go ahead and cook your bacon. You want to render out most of the fatty parts so there’s not too many chewy fat bites in the bread. Cook the bacon to your liking and then blot, crumble into small pieces, and set aside. When the dough has doubled in size, punch it down to get the air bubbles out. Add in your cooked bacon pieces and a big healthy pinch of dried thyme and knead them into the dough.
Separate your dough into 3 parts and roll each part out long, then braid the pieces together. If you would rather just bake it as a round loaf, that’s fine too - just shape it with your hands and place it on a lightly greased baking sheet. Let the dough rest for a few minutes on the baking sheet after you’ve shaped it - it’ll yield a fluffier and moister loaf. Bake your loaf at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for about 35 minutes or until the center reaches about 190 degrees Fahrenheit. Wait to let it cool - if you can - and enjoy a slice of Bacon Bread!!
