Do you know what happened to Lionsgate in relation to H&H? I'm confused about whether they were the international distributor, US distributor, or one of those and then dropped out.
I think they were international distributors as it was only ever offered for international sales as far as I'm aware?

All those Twitter ‘fans’ would be back claiming Lili if it sold to A24
Of course they would, they are the most fake fans ever.

Neon are moving into bigger phases financially and are primed to get creative (A24 has several movies it’s already debuting, but that hasn’t stopped it from picking up at least one more in the past). At least one buyer speculated an A24 or Neon, each of which has their own burgeoning TV divisions, could get real creative and look at Cooper Raiff’s “Hal & Harper,” a rare buzzy title on the Episodic slate.

FandomWire is delighted to again be covering the Sundance Film Festival, but this year, for the first time in person in Park City, Utah! We will be reviewing many of the films we see on the ground, but for now, we wanted to let you know about some of the films we have gotten the opportunity to see early and you won’t want to miss.
Hal & Harper
One of the most hotly anticipated episodic projects at the festival is Cooper Raiff’s (Cha Cha Real Smooth) indie series Hal & Harper, which stars Raiff alongside Lili Reinhart (Riverdale), Betty Gilpin (GLOW), and Mark Ruffalo (The Avengers). The show follows a brother and sister through the years as they grow up with their single father. To make things more interesting, Raiff and Reinhart also play the younger versions of their characters in flashbacks. Offering the same style of indie dramedy that Raiff has come to be loved for with a quirky twist, Hal & Harper is sure to be a hit with audiences. [While only the first four episodes are playing in-person, all eight are available online.]

While Hal & Harper is not technically a film, we also like to check out episodics that premiere at Sundance. You never know what will pop off and become the next big series to hit streaming. Cooper Raiff has returned to Sundance from his Audience Award-winning film Cha Cha Real Smooth to bring his latest project Hal & Harper. In Hal & Harper, Raiff delivers yet another poignant, intimate narrative, this time exploring the delicate complexities of family ties. Centered on two siblings who view their codependence as a vital part of their relationship, Raiff crafts a deeply personal story that’s equal parts raw, relatable, and quietly revolutionary.
Raiff stars as Hal, alongside Lili Reinhart as Harper, in a tale that charts the evolution of their familial bond. Their father, Mark Ruffalo adds another layer to the story’s emotional core. Ruffalo’s performance is understated yet powerful, embodying a man whose guilt casts a long shadow over his children’s lives. His wry charm masks a deep well of remorse, grounding the film in a profound exploration of generational trauma and parental fallibility. If stories around family and the ties that bind them attract you, make sure you get into a screening for Hal & Harper
