kageyama can't drive and he should never be trusted behind the wheel. his super human spatial awareness is confined to the volleyball court alone. yams tried to teach him to drive in a parking lot one night in their twenties and neither of them will speak about the experience it was that traumatic

hinata has his license, but the list of people that will get in the car if he's driving dwindles by the day, despite his insistence that he's never actually gotten into an accident. he drives like saeko, lots of whipping around corners and abrupt stops, and he blasts music with the windows down. tobio is the only one that's never complained about his driving, oddly enough.

yachi tried to learn how to drive, and she aced the written exam, but she gets too anxious behind the wheel, and she decided it wasn't worth the stress the bus is just fine :))

yamaguchi was the first of the first years to get his licence. he dutifully went to drivers ed, and respects the rules of the road a bit too much maybe. he gets cut off a lot because he's not assertive enough and he always thinks the other driver must be in a hurry for something important.

tsukishima thinks he's an excellent driver, and all of his road rage is just because the other drivers are idiots it's their fault for trying to drive into him when he only ran the red light by like a couple seconds no yamaguchi he is very calm thank you very much. in all fairness he is the second best driver out of the bunch but that's just because the other three are so hopeless.

This is specifically how they see each other in first year and those impressions would ofc change over time (for example yamaguchi and kageyama definitely get to know each other better later on).

it was so fun to see the theories!! Another way of arranging them and a few more notes about clues I put in are under the cut!

Extra notes!!

- I’ve been working with a hc that Kageyama has some amount of face blindness - he knows what people look like but it’s moe like a list of traits rather than a picture in his head. I tried to show this by having the faces being slightly off and the colours correct but oversaturated. The ‘1’s on the jerseys that came from him are also not correct for the same reason.

- Yachi and Hinata both view each other as smiley and encouraging, while Yachi and Yamaguchi both view each other as anxious - they’ve. All fixed on the traits that they share and connect over! :,,)

- None of the boys have imagined Yachi’s neck bow exactly right

- I realise Yamaguchi’s braces have tripped some people up oops - the idea was just that Tsukki!Yamaguchi is the only one smiling big enough to show them

- Tsukki!Kageyama has extra pretty eyes because to his own annoyance Tsukishima is gay and aware that Kageyama is attractive.

- Like a lot of blond people, Tsukishima’s hair has gotten slightly darker since he was a little kid - Yamaguchi pictures it how it was when they met, and extra curly

- If the kids were in a guessing game like the dunmeshi episode, I think the Yachi’s would give them the most trouble, followed by the Kageyama’s and then the three most accurate Hinata’s. Tsukki they would find fairly easy since Kagehina’s Tsukki’s are mean enough but don’t look right, while Yachi’s is too quiet and Yamaguchi’s is too cute. Tsukki!Yamaguchi would be very confusing to them.

Dungeon Meshi’s shapeshifters are such a fun tool for character and relationship exploration, so I stole it :D here’s a guessing game between the Karasuno first years (with the added difficulty that I don’t ever draw them exactly like in canon lol). Would you be able to spot the fakes??
