Thanks @wolfeyedwitch, my current WIP is like, once sentence in as well, as I was just starting it.
“I promise I won’t.” Cassandra murmured, even though she knew he was already out cold.
Tagging @shydragonrider
Using the lovely @solipsism-lemonade’s last line tag, thank you!
The silence stretched too long. I shifted from foot to foot, unable to see the Great Abyss’s – or Abby’s, if that’s what it wants to call itself - expression. I mean, it probably didn’t matter what it thought of my silly excuse of a name, or of me. The best I could hope for is that it’d find the taste of my soul satisfying enough to not destroy my world for a few more decades.
Can you tell I have a thing for eldritch creatures being weird about gender?
Tagging, no pressure: @euphoniouspandemonium @pandawriterstuff @loopyhoopywrites @atlasllm-verse and anyone who wants to! Open tag!

Yooooo I was tagged by @whumpers-inc to spell out my URL using song titles! And I think that’s neat.
🎵🎵🎵
A - “All Star” by Smash Mouth
G - “Green Finch and Linnet Bird” from Sweeney Todd
E - “Emperor’s New Clothes” by Panic! At The Disco
N - “No Children” by The Mountain Goats
T - “Taunt” by Lovejoy
A - “Always Gold” by Radical Face

This was great! And also made me realise the alliteration of my chosen URL has lead to many repeating letters!

Just watched Red Eye with two friends. All I can think is that @a-dream-of-storms, would have 10 anxiety attacks at once, and @shydragonrider would just ask Jackson Rippner to fuck her. (And I don’t blame her.)

the demand for hypercompassion from female characters (ie. criticizing whenever a fictional woman doesn’t show an ‘appropriate’ level of care or compassion for those around her, even if she’s not being outwardly cruel or dismissive) while simultaneously tripping over ourselves to praise male characters for showing the barest hint of regard for anyone but themselves is this really weird dichotomy.
if a woman doesn’t comment in horror at a crime or swoop in to tend to a child immediately, she’s characterized as cold and selfish. if a man once in a blue moon spares a kind thought for someone or encourages a friend, he’s a saint and an angel.
we demand the most explicit and almost performative level of compassion from women in fiction but fictional men are pretty much praised just for not being total assholes.
