If anyone were to ask Dani over a month ago that she would be asked to do a Halloween inspired suit commission by Glade, or that she would actually accept in doing that commission for him, she’ll call that person delusional. In no way would the redhead ever do such a thing for him, not voluntarily, definitely not knowingly. Heck, the thought of seeing his face alone brought so much rage and conflict within her, only for those feelings to then turn into shame and guilt, and then back to rage and conflict yet again. Obviously she would never accept a commission from the likes of him! At least, that is what she would have believed if she had stayed as the version of herself who hadn’t seen or spoken to Glade in months. She never would have guessed that as soon as he decided to waltz inside her place of work with just a half hour shy before she had to close up, that her resolve to keep hating him would crack, or that they’ll fall back into old habits of hooking up again. What’s worst is that the redhead couldn’t blame him for that either. It had been all her.
Them hooking up was one thing. That was just sex. But being commissioned by him? That was entirely something different. Making outfits was something Dani liked to do on her personal time, a way for her to let out her creativity. and especially a way for her to show off her love of Halloween. It was all just for fun at first, but eventually she decided that she could make a small living out of making outfits for others. Maybe even turn it into a full-blown career if she’s lucky enough, but she knew that would probably take her a while. Still, creating a forum and opening up commissions to people became a thing, and the redhead did ended up with a couple of orders here and there. But never—and she seriously means never—would have thought that from one look at her sketchbook and designs, the same guy who only came for her for sex would seriously want to commission her. And for a Halloween outfit at that! And not going to lie, even after finally accepting, Dani didn’t expect much to come from doing this commission. If anything, she expected for Glade to not take it seriously. For him to once again flirt with her, make sexual comments over their last hook up, or even him taking the chance when she needed to take his measurements of how 'he knew she couldn’t stay away from him for too long.’ But he didn’t do any of that. Shockingly, every single one of their interactions has been pretty tame. That’s right, Glade’s has been nothing more than professional with Dani whenever they met up to work on his outfit. Friendly even. Granted, he still likes to tease her from time to time and he’s been showing up at her work a lot more lately, but the redhead has noticed how toned down he’s been.
It’s weird. It’s as if outside of wanting her to make this outfit for him, the brunette’s also been trying to get to know her better. With every visit to the shop, there was a new question for her to answer if they weren’t talking about the progress of the commission, and surprisingly, the girl found herself responding with ease. And it wasn’t as if Glade was only learning new things about her, Dani’s been learning a few things about him in return, and crazy enough, they shared a lot of things in common. They could become really good friends with how much in common the both of them had. But despite knowing that, the redhead reminded herself that this was a professional relationship first and foremost between them while she was still working on his commission. Even when he bought random and unnecessary stuff at the shop whenever he visited, she had to stay professional with him. And after texting him to meet up with her once again at the shop so they could do a final try-on and see if any finishing touches are needed to be made before he could pick up his suit, this time was not going to be any different. Not even as she lead him into the backroom, Dani focused on the main task at hand and hearing him claim the suit was perfect, she swelled with pride. “It’s one of my best works.” She admitted with a faint laugh at his excitement as he went to try the suit jacket on. But as soon as her smile appeared, it fell at his words. “Oh no? Oh no what?” The girl asked, making her way towards him to see what the issue was. “There’s not a sudden rip on it, is there? I made sure all the seams were in place before I brought the suit over here….”
@liildenniison
After making it clear that she thought his dick game wasn’t “that good” and that she thought he was no more than a pervert, Glade’s reasons for keeping his contact with Dani completely non-sexual were threefold. For one thing, he had already decided their working relationship while she designed and created a custom Halloween suit for him should be entirely professional—fewer distractions meant better attention to detail after all. But the note they ended on when they had last hooked up inspired another two motivations for keeping things PG between them. The first was admittedly petty: she had insulted his pride and implied that he couldn’t get some whenever he wanted, so he wasn’t planning on making himself available to her even if she wanted some. (Glade was pretty sure she was more pent-up than he was if she was so ready to jump on him before, when she clearly couldn’t stand him. On the other hand, he had no issue finding others to get off with in the meantime.)
His last reason was less about punishment and more about reframing…If Dani knew nothing about him but that he was a horny motherfucker, of course she would dismiss him as a perv and mark down everything he did to some deviant whim. For the first time since they’d met, Glade had seen a glimpse of a future in which the two of them could actually become friends—their shared interest in a particular holiday being a good jumping off point for bonding—and it would never happen if she kept seeing him as a sex-driven degenerate. That was only part of his personality: he had a lot more to offer! Since the first text messages establishing the commission process and their first meeting for measurements, he had refrained from saying all of the sexual innuendos that came to mind (which was a hard ask, honestly) and only teased Dani in the same light-hearted way he would treat his friends. It was quite a change, considering they had never had such innocent interactions before, but after the first few conversations Glade thought she had finally stopped expecting him to try anything more.
He’d come into her workplace to bother her more than once since the first time—to check on the progress of the commission or offer more ideas he’d come up with, to attempt to get to know her by asking about her favorite horror movies, and mostly to entertain her with his charming presence while business in the shop was slow. Notably, he had taken the opportunity on one occasion to take advantage of her promise to provide excellent customer service if he was an actual customer by continually bringing things up to check out and prolonging the process. She definitely hated that one. By the time she informed him that his suit was ready for pick-up, he was pretty comfortable in the shop. The only corner of the building he hadn’t seen more than once was the back room Dani had pulled him into on his first visit here, which she was now directing him to for the final try-on. Glade thought he had gotten pretty used to suppressing the urges to make inappropriate comments, but this was a true struggle. Best behavior. The only way he could manage not to say the wrong thing was by not saying anything at all, biting his tongue as he followed her to the room and found the garment bag containing his new most prized possession. “It’s perfect,” he whispered reverently, running his fingers along the detail work. He took off his racing jacket, tossing it haphazardly onto the table, and tried on the suit jacket. “Oh, no…”

For a hot second her cheeks had flared, only for the redhead to glare up at him in response. The urge to make a snappy comment about what happened in here was a one-time thing, and how if he was expecting for her to hook up with him again anytime soon, than he’ll have to go looking elsewhere for that. Just because Dani had shown a moment of weakness this time around doesn’t mean she was planning on doing so again. “Anytime you want? Your dick game is good, but it’s not that good.” Is what she ended up saying instead, choosing not to involve herself anymore within all this. For all she knew, Glade could have been referring to the fact that he could get anyone else to have sex with him if he wanted to get off, not that he could have sex with Dani whenever he wanted—which was in fact never gonna be a thing. “Oh please, just say you wanted to be a perv and wanted to take my panties back home with you. You didn’t even think about giving them back to me until I asked.” she remarked.
She needed him to leave. The realization that she still had the rest of her closing duties to get to before she could head back home herself, which meant that Glade needed to exit the shop soon. Like yesterday kind of soon. But figures that he couldn’t just leave when she told him to, the brunette making it pass the doorway before turning back at her and bringing up the commission once again. “I’ll text you, but don’t think I won’t charge you the cancellation fee if you don’t respond back because I will.” And it’ll be double to charge for you, the redhead almost said, but bit her tongue from doing so. Then she heard the rest of his words, Dani gasping in disbelief at his audacity. “Wha? I— Would you just go!” Stuttering and finding no excuse, the redhead nudged him forward with her leg as she closed the door from the storage room behind her. “I need to finish up with my closing duties, and I can’t have you here any longer before I can do them. Leave!”
“Sorry. Be more specific next time,” Glade advised, finding the trash can she pointed out to throw the condom away in. It was actually a pretty hilarious little misunderstanding…if only she had a sense of humor. But then, maybe she did. He found himself laughing aloud at her speculation that he was trying to steal her underwear to jerk off with like some kind of hard up teenage virgin after a panty raid. Was her evaluation of him really so low that she thought it was more likely he was some kind of sexual deviant than that he simply had enough consideration to not throw her panties on the dirty ground? He might be a gamer loser, but he wasn’t a pervert. And he didn’t need to swipe anyone’s panties to get off with either—as was evident by the fact that he literally just had sex. With her. Which was why he couldn’t even take her insults seriously; she was really reaching just to find reasons to dislike him after all this time. “Why would I do that when I could get the real thing anytime I want?” he countered, raising his eyebrows. “But if you really wanna imagine me jerking off to the thought of you, go ahead. Maybe you’ll be able to get yourself off next time if you do.” He winked.
It was actually a good thing she was ushering him out the door without further ado, because he was kind of getting horny again now thinking about the scene Dani had made earlier while touching herself, and picturing her doing it again later, thinking about him. Maybe he would do the same…Except he reminded himself once again that he couldn’t fuck her until after the Halloween suit was done. It would probably be easier to resist if he put all thoughts of Dani naked aside until then. He could get it from anyone else for the time being. As he crossed the threshold of the door, he turned back to offer a cheeky salute, answering her with, “You got it, boss,” before making sure to let her know to stop tempting him with her feminine wiles. “By the way, I’m serious about the commission, so you better text me. And no more jumping my bones now that this is a professional working relationship.”

She rolled her eyes at his complaining. Pushing him off of her the second he pulled out may not have been the warmest of reactions one can make post-sex, but what did he expect? Dani wasn’t about to stay lying against the hard table with Glade still pressed on top of her like she was some soft surface with yabos just so he can take an extra breather. Not only was her former position starting to sting on her back now that she didn’t have the focus and stimulation of him literally fucking her to distract the redhead from where she was being fucked on, but pushing him away the first chance she got was meant to be a reminder. Glade was a strict no-strings-attached kind of guy— he made that clear from the get-go when they first met and so Dani was only trying to honor that. No, she wasn’t the kind of girl who fell for every single person she sleeps with, but she was the type who did enjoy post-sex kissing or cuddling as she didn’t believe that one needed to be romantically attracted to someone in order to do that. It was comforting, and having some kind of aftercare in general was nice, but Glade didn’t like doing any of that— it was too intimate for a hook-up. So he can whine all he wants over her hasty reaction—or impatience as he put it—but this is more on him than her. Besides, he’s lucky she waited until he came before shoving him off, it would’ve been way crueler of her if she had done so once he gave her the climax she wanted.
Nose scrunching, she looked at him with disgust when he raised the used condom. “Not that!” She claimed, in disbelief that he would actually think it had been that she was referring to. Dani nearly let out that it was her panties she was asking for, just about ready to call Glade a pervert if he didn’t hand them back to her— why would he want to keep it anyways? Something to hold against her as a reminder of how she allowed herself to hook up with him again, maybe? That almost had her blood boiling, but luckily, he caught on in what she was referring to and pulled out her panties from his pocket before giving them back to her. “Yeah right, you just wanted to jerk off with it back home, didn’t you?” Dani commented, slipping them on but not without muttering “Pervert” in a hushed tone. The panties felt a little uncomfortable and her thighs were a bit sticky, but that was some cleanup she’ll have to deal with once she got back home. “There’s a bin over that corner by the way.” The redhead then said pointing at the trashcan that was on the right corner from the door, now referring to the condom since Glade hadn’t disposed of it yet. She made a note to come back in here first thing in the morning and discard the trash completely so none of her co-workers would know what did in here. Without even looking back at him, she unlocked and re-opened the door. “It’s late— you gotta go for real now.”
“So impatient,” he commented as she shoved him off, calling back to his earlier tease about how eager she had been to be fucked. Now she was just eager to get him away from her. It seemed Dani’s impatience remained no matter how quickly her mind changed. Glade was a little miffed at still being on the receiving end of her attitude after he’d just given her a mind-numbing orgasm…It wasn’t as if he was clingy and desperate to cuddle afterwards; he just needed a second to catch his breath. And he wasn’t expecting to hear any sweet nothings either, but immediately being snapped at was a cold follow-up to sex. Then again, would it really be Dani if she wasn’t snapping at him? Maybe he could unlock a side of her that wasn’t so petulant while they went through the commission process. The idea that they actually had something in common to talk about and could potentially even become friends had escaped him almost the moment they entered this back room, but post-nut clarity reminded him.
He wanted a kick-ass costume for the Halloween masquerade, and he needed to stay on Dani’s good side to ensure that. Although he enjoyed hooking up with her, and she obviously enjoyed it physically, it never seemed to warm her up to him on a human level, so sex was going to have to be off the table for as long as this commission took. Speaking of ‘off the table,’ Dani complained about not sticking with the wall as she got up, wincing in pain, and Glade made a mental note for…well, the next time might not be for a while now. Even if Dani couldn’t keep her hands off him, he would have to be strong enough to resist for the both of them. When Halloween was over, maybe they could go again, only: “No more table sex, got it,” he muttered. Starting to redress, Glade was now faced with the dilemma of cleaning himself up. He had the condom off and tied by the time Dani spoke again; he glanced up from where he’d been looking around for a trashcan, confused for a moment at her demand. Give what back? He raised the condom questioningly, but that couldn’t be it, so—“Oh! Hah.” He dug into his pocket and produced her panties, handing them over. “Sorry, I was keeping them safe for you.”

If she wasn’t so desperate in wanting him to fuck her, she would’ve bit back another remark of her own. Instead, she whined against his lips, feeling the tip of his cock pressing against her entrance before he completely slid inside her. After fingering herself, the redhead didn’t need anymore prepping, yet at the stretch and burn of finally being filled, Dani broke the kiss with a loud gasp— this was exactly what she needed. Now all she wanted was for Glade to start moving, and luckily, before she could even make out a demand for him to do so, he started to thrust into her. She moaned out loud— rocking her hips back in return in order to speed up the pace. “Faster,” She made out, fingers gripping tightly onto the edge of the table as the brunette threw her leg over his shoulder. Like this, she could feel him reach even deeper inside of her, and with the now faster and harder pace, the redhead began to lose any ounce of sense she had left. She then completely lost it when Glade rubbed on her clit, the combination of his thrusting while doing so putting Dani over the edge as she gasped and moaned more and more. Feeling herself tighten around him, she climaxed soon after and with a couple of extra thrusts, so did he.
“Geez, can you be anymore slower?” The redhead complained, groaning in sensitivity as he pulled out of her. With that, she put her hands against Glade’s chest, pushing him off of her. Now that they’ve fucked and had their fun, there was no need for him to be so close to her anymore. Even though every fiber of Dani’s being would’ve liked to have laid there for a little while longer, maybe even be cuddled up within his arms as they cool down after the intensity of the pace of sex they just had— they weren’t together. This was just sex for the both of them, nothing more, and so once she finally got him off of her, the redhead sat up. “Shit. Should’ve stuck with the wall.” She commented, wincing while feeling a slight pain in her back after laying down against a hard surface the whole time. That didn’t deter from Dani in standing up and getting herself re-dressed, however, slipping her shirt and skirt back on before looking around for her panties. Recalling how she never saw him throw it on the floor when he took it off of her, the redhead turned her gaze back at Glade. That pervert! “Give it back.” She demanded, holding her hand out.
As difficult as it was to pull himself away from Dani and act like he didn’t want to fuck her just as bad as she wanted to be fucked, it was so worth it just to see her like this. Glade was curious to watch how she pleasured herself, taking mental notes of what she liked so he could use the same techniques to get her off. After a while, however, it seemed like she wasn’t even getting herself there. Just as he predicted, it didn’t take too long for her to give in and finally beg for him. He was so beyond horny that there was no way he could hold out on her any longer, as priceless as her desperation was. He was back at the table in an instant, pulling his underwear and pants back down to end his own torment as well as hers. The condom from his wallet was out and wrapped around his cock in record time. He leaned down and knocked Dani’s fingers away from her mouth to kiss the taste of her juices off her lips before muttering, “Was that so hard?” Lining his hips up with hers again, he slid into her so easily with how wet and well-prepared she was after fingering herself. The relief of her pussy sucking him in was so great he had to pause for a moment after burying himself to the hilt. If she was still impatient—too damn bad, because he needed to make sure this lasted more than two seconds.
Eventually, finally, he began rocking his hips into her, rapidly working up to a fast pace as he pulled her leg over his shoulder and gripped her thigh for leverage as he drove in hard and deep. “Fuck,” he groaned. He wasn’t sure how much more dirty talk his brain could formulate from this point on, too lost in the pleasure. He had just enough sense left to know what to do with his hand that wasn’t wrapped around her upper leg, bringing it down to rub her clit at the same pace she was working herself with earlier. It didn’t take long for her to finish at that rate; he could tell from the sounds she made and the way he felt inner walls spasm around him that she had finally reached her peak. With a few more thrusts, he let go and followed her over the edge. He stayed inside her for a moment while he let his heart rate return to normal, before pulling out. Glade didn’t kiss her again; making out was always fine for foreplay, a good lead-up to sex, but kissing during or after just felt weirdly intimate to him. It wasn’t like they were in love or anything.

“That would be horrific!” The redhead claimed, eyes comically wide as she tried to imagine being both cursed while dealing with your time of the month. Having a period was bad enough— with all the blood, the cramps, and the bloating? It could really suck being a woman, but to add being cursed alongside of that? Yeah, it was a good thing that Binx didn’t need to deal with both. Even though what he has to deal with was way worst than having a period alone, because at least not every time was so bad and it’s only for a couple of days, but for Binx? Sure, he wasn’t eternally stuck as a cat now, but Dani knew how bad his memory can be whenever he was in his cat state, and she can only imagine how difficult it must be needing to adjust in knowing that he wasn’t entirely human anymore either— even if it has been centuries since he last was considered a regular human. She would take having a period any day over being cursed. But that’s also why she was trying to make light of this situation, feeling triumph as he laughed at her comment. “My offer to stay with me still stands!” Dani stated, with a half smile. “I’ll gladly watch over you whenever it’s a full moon. You know? I can get you a special bowl with your name custom made on it, feed you all your favorite foods, and of course play with you all day!” She beamed. “Or better yet because I know you don’t actually want me treating you like a house cat— and you are more than that to me, I could just follow you around wherever you go as a cat if it helps make you feel any better.”
Binx’s eyebrows narrowed in confusion momentarily, assuming that the way he tracked the full moon was common knowledge to those familiar with his curse. He initially didn’t understand why Dani seemed entertained at the idea until she compared it to a period cycle. He rolled his eyes playfully, a smile forming as he connected the dots. “I guess my curse is the closest thing I’d have to one,” he chuckled, having never thought of it that way until now. Sometimes it was nice to laugh about his curse rather than always being troubled by it. Dani's words had him think of an even worse scenario, shuttering at the thought. "Imagine dealing with both." He was glad he wasn't a woman, and Dani was likely glad she wasn't cursed. "Anyway, yes I have to track and plan things around the full moon. I'm pretty useless when I'm a cat, so I stay on top of it."

Finally…..she thought as he started to touch her. Believing he was complying to her demands, the redhead bit her bottom lip and arched upwards into Glade’s touch as he exposed her breasts and began thumbing at her nipples. He stimulated them until the buds were hard and pointed, Dani letting out a moan hoping that he would touch her more— it should be a matter of seconds until his lips were on them…..is what she expected for that to be his next step. Only for her to gasp again when instead, the brunette grabbed her by her hips and slid her until she laid by the edge of the table. It didn’t even cross the redhead's mind that he had taken off her panties, not until she felt the tip of his cock press against her exposed wet entrance. So they were getting straight to it…..she inhaled sharply. The turn of events was a little surprising—there use to be a bit more foreplay than that—yet feeling his cock sink into her just a tad, the redhead’s eyes rolled back. Fine by her if they went straight to the fucking. This was just a hookup so for as much as she had been expecting for a little more foreplay, Dani wasn’t about to complain if he wanted to fuck her right now. After all, she had demanded her to fuck her.
Only, Glade didn’t fuck her. He barely got his cock inside of her, instead, she felt his cock brush against her clit before he mentioned for her to suit herself…..and just like that, he pulled completely away from her. “W-What?! You’re not serious!” Dani claimed, pushing herself up against the table using her elbows just in time to see him tucking himself back into his underwear. He nodded his head at her in response before telling her to go ahead then. He was serious! With her mouth open in shock, the redhead hadn’t expected for him to take her seriously when she said she could give herself a release. She could— but usually with the aid of a toy, and she didn’t have any with her inside this shop. Staring back at him once more with a mixed of frustration and disbelief, Glade just stared at her expectedly. At that, Dani groaned before laying back down, breaking eye contact with him and now staring up at the ceiling. Even if she tried to get herself off on her own…..she’s never masterbated in front of anyone before. And now she had to do so in front of Glade! Ugh! Fine! He wanted her to give him a show, she’ll give him a show!
Slipping two of her fingers inside of her mouth, she coated them with salvia and pulled her leg up, exposing her clit even more. With her other hand, she pulled back one of her folds, and after deeming her fingers were wet enough, Dani moved them down to her clit and rubbed. At first, she slipped in one finger, moving it in and out of herself a few times before slipping in another…..damn, she was even more wet than she thought she was,.....the redhead realized— scissoring herself. Thinking of how she could even add a third if she wanted too, she let out a moan, locking eyes with Glade again. She slipped in a third finger, rocking her hips and fucking herself as deep and hard as she can, determined to show him that she could get herself to come on her own. But as Dani kept fingering herself, she kept reaching her peak,…. only to feel not satisfied enough to actually come. Fuck…..her fingers couldn’t reach any deeper, she thought, breaking eye contact with him and biting her lip once again— she needed something more. If only she had a dildo but she didn't. But what she did have was him. “F-Fine!” the redhead eventually broke out in a whine, defeated. All she wanted at this point was an actual release, and if it meant getting it she needed to beg him for it then….. “I want you to fuck me.” Dani begged, pulling her fingers out of her clit only to put them back against her mouth, tasting herself while hoping it would tempt Glade enough into finally fucking her. “Please."
So, she still didn’t want to play nice…That was okay. He only had to get her a little more desperate and she would. Glade finally acquiesced to Dani’s demands to touch her, but not because he actually intended on letting her win; he just wanted her to have a good taste of what she’d be missing before he ripped it away. That was the way to tease: make her want it so bad there’d be no way she wouldn’t cave and ask for it. First, he pushed her shirt up to roll her nipples under his thumbs, wanting terribly to bend down and start sucking, but holding himself back and only delivering enough stimulation to get her excited before moving his focus down. He slid her panties off, slipping them into his pocket for safe-keeping, and yanked her to the edge of the table by her hips so she was in a position where he could easily ram into her…only he didn’t. He teased her wet entrance with his tip, but avoided sinking too far inside, instead moving higher to brush against her clit and then laying his cock out top of her as if seeing how far it would reach from the outside, pausing to appreciate the sight for a moment. “Well, I don’t think your fingers will fill you the way I could…but suit yourself.”
He stepped back then, tucking himself back into his underwear and leaving her half-undressed on the table. It took all his fucking willpower to make that move when she was literally laying there ready and willing to be taken, but he was so sure that this would work, it was worth the agony of delaying his own gratification. It would be so much better once Dani admitted that she wanted him to get her off, even if she didn’t need him. Sure, she could use a toy, but it wasn’t the same and they both knew it—and besides, she definitely didn’t have one here, so at best she’d have to collect herself and finish closing the shop before going home and finishing herself off, after all the momentum had died. And could she really fuck herself as hard or fast or deep as he could? All it took was her saying one simple word—please—and she could get it as good as she liked. He tilted his chin up, nodding at her to do as she’d claimed and please herself. “Go ahead then, don’t mind me.”

Dani thought for sure she was the one in control here. In their game of push and pull to see who would come out as the dominate one in the end, the redhead believed she had won. She had him in her mercy, thinking how there was no way he would deny her after she demanded for the brunette to fuck her— not when she was pumping his cock, making him harder than he was before. Then the next thing she knew, Glade whirled them around, and the redhead was now pinned against the table instead of the wall. Dani gasped at the change of position, eyes blown wide as she found it attractive by what he just did—this was way more comfortable and accessible to her compared to how he had her before— but as soon as he opened his mouth yet again…..he called her impatient…..she fell back into reality and glared. It would have been one thing if he left it at that, but then he went farther to say she was begging for him. The redhead scoffed and blatantly rolled her eyes. She wasn’t begging for him. She wanted a good fuck, exactly like what he had been looking for,….hypocrite much.
Could he be anymore slower? she thought, once Glade started undressing her. With her bra already unhooked, that was the first to go, yet he hadn’t bothered pulling her shirt off in return. Instead, her skirt was unzipped, but besides hiking it up and exposing her panties, he didn’t do anything else. He didn’t even touch her. The redhead buckled her legs, her patience wearing thin as she wanted him to either undress her fully or fuck her with her clothes still on— Dani didn’t care which! “Just fuck me already!” She repeated. The redhead didn’t want to give in, deciding to be stubborn on why she had to ask nicely when she already told him what she wanted. Why couldn’t he comply to her demands? He wanted this too! “Or touch me! Do something!” She claimed right after, this time her voice coming out as an unintentional whine. Maybe she wasn’t as in control as she thought. But Dani didn’t want to give up just yet, and so, she said the most brattiest thing she could think of. “—If you don't, I don’t need you, I can get myself off instead.”
For the first time, Glade actually found himself annoyed by Dani’s attitude. Usually he took it in stride, even her fuck offs rolling right off his shoulders without affecting his ego, but something about her saying that’s a dumb question got under his skin. (Which was exactly how she always felt in his presence, if he was to do any self-reflection.) It was the fact that she didn’t want him to get big-headed about how easily she’d give it up to him, so he was already holding back from the dirty things he really wanted to say to her—but she also didn’t want him to be nice enough to ask how she liked it? What was left, total silence? Even if they liked things rough and anti-romantic, Glade didn’t just want to shut up and be a sex toy for her to get off with. She also seemed to think she was the only one capable of leaving him high and dry—like he didn’t have the equal ability to walk away right now and leave her with nothing to desperately grind and moan against. Well…she knew he wouldn’t do that, but just because he wouldn’t didn’t mean he couldn’t.
He was so ready to teach her a lesson, fire back about how he had been ready to leave without so much as a kiss before she pulled him back here, so sure, he knew what she wanted. But Dani wasted no time in undressing him and taking his cock in her hand, pumping the length of it as her other hand grabbed his hair and she demanded that he fuck her. All of that simultaneous stimulation distracted him from the game of who’s in control here temporarily, as it suddenly seemed there was a clear winner. He was only weakened for a moment though, before his pride kicked back in and he scooped her up again, whirling around so he could lay her on the table. “You’re impatient, aren’t you?” he teased, now more sure than ever that he was the one with the power in this interaction. “Haven’t even gotten your clothes off yet and you’re begging for me.” He knew that was sure to piss her off, but he was no longer concerned about her throwing him out because of it. He knew what she wanted after all. Glade started sliding Dani’s clothing off, agonizingly slow on purpose. She wasn’t going to get what she wanted until she earned it. “You wanted me fuck you, right? Maybe I will when you ask me nicely.”

She wanted to smack that grin right off his face, the sight of it pissing the redhead off, even as she continued to grind herself against him. Glade always infuriated her, all he had to do was speak one word and that was enough to make Dani want to shut him right up. Even now, as he claim to being a ‘good boy’ for her, the response he got in return from her was a snort before he pulled her back in for a deeper kiss. Oh yeah, he’s going to be a good boy for her right now, playing it smart to hold back his words despite the redhead remembering how into dirty talk the brunette was from their past endeavors. Aww, is he too afraid to say what’s on his mind? She moaned through his lips as he felt her up. Real afraid of me leaving you hard and desperate? Fingers gripping onto the base of Glade’s shirt, Dani began tugging it up. Pulling back, she removed his shirt completely, throwing it somewhere behind him before pulling him back as he kissed down her neck.
The whole time her hips never stopped moving, feeling him get even harder as he pressed even deeper against her. Fuck, if she didn’t get him inside of her soon, Dani thought, only for the redhead to roll her eyes at the question he fired right back at her. “That’s a dumb question.” She voiced, hands already working on unbuttoning Glade's jeans. Once she popped it open, the redhead slide the zipper down before palming his cock through the fabric of his boxers. “You know what I want.” Dani said right after, not bothering to elaborate for they both knew that soft and slow was out of the question. Making her point even clearer, she pulled his cock out it's confinements, pumping him with one hand as she uses the other to rank her fingers through Glade’s hair before gripping onto it. “You wanted to fuck me, right? So fuck me.”
“Sure, I’ll be a good boy for you,” he replied, still grinning. He didn’t think he needed the warning, having already predicted that she would be ready to send him to the curb if he acted too cocky about this. Of course she couldn’t read his mind and know that he was already holding back. But maybe he did need the reminder to do so, because there was so much more dirty talk he wanted to be giving her as Dani rolled her hips against him…You really want me to fuck you at your workplace? He kissed her again, and deeper. Couldn’t even wait to get back to my place, that’s how bad you want it? His hands brazenly roamed her body, squeezing her ass, her hips, her waist, her breasts. Are you gonna remember doing this every time you come into this room? He slipped under her shirt, hurrying to unclasp her bra so he could really touch her. I hope you don’t get too horny thinking about it while you’re on the clock. His kisses trailed down her neck to the top of her chest. If you have to rub one out on break to get through your next shift, just call me; I’ll talk you through it.
“You’re so hot,” was his only vocalized answer to her question about how he was so hard, whether she’d asked it in seriousness or not. A better question was, How could he not be? She had just pulled him into a back room to jump on him like she couldn’t even keep herself in check around him, and she thought he wouldn’t be ready to go immediately. Glade drove himself even harder against her in retaliation. “You want it rough?” That question was definitely rhetorical. They’d never done it gentle. It would have been weird if she asked for soft and slow—not at all fitting with the absolute frenzy of sexual desire they worked up around each other. They had a need it now and need it hard and don’t get romantic on me dynamic which suited them perfectly fine.

It was because it’s been a while since she last hooked up with anyone. That’s the excuse she was mentally going with as the redhead wrapped her legs around his waist after Glade picked her up. If it hadn’t been so long then she for sure would have kicked him out of the shop after he filled out her webform. Would've told him to go and find someone else if he was that desperate for sex because she wasn’t interested. She shouldn’t still be interested. Yet— here she was, pressed against the door to this backroom as the two of them made out, Dani voluntarily putting herself within this position with Glade. And with the way she could feel him grin against her lips, the redhead nearly groaned as she could already tell how annoying he was going to be throughout this now that he had the satisfaction of still being able to get what he came to here for.
“Well, now you know.” She sarcastically replied back after they pulled away for some air. Due to her choice to wearing a skirt today, she could feel him against her in this position. “Try not to get too big headed about that though. Don’t want me leaving you all high and dry now do you?” For as relentless as Glade can be, if there was one thing Dani can vouch for him was how he wouldn’t force her to do anything she didn't want to do. The only reason he was comfortable in even pinning her like this was because she had been the one to make the first move, but he would let her go if she told him to. And he would let her go even if she decided to leave him with blue balls. With that said, the redhead rolled her hips using their closeness to her advantage as she grind herself against him. Dani moaned when she felt how hard he already was. “A-Ah, how is it that you're so hard already?”
The smirk on Dani’s face only went to show that she had made up her mind about him and was feeling vindicated in her assumptions, just because Glade had admitted that he’d come here wanting to hook up. He relished in seeing the smug smile wiped off her face after he pulled away from whispering his new goal. She appeared totally stunned as if no part of her, however small, expected him to be serious about the commission; he was all too satisfied to prove her wrong. Even more so, because that finally convinced her that he really meant it, and she soon handed her phone to him, open to a webform where he could fill in all the pertinent information so they could start the process. She was actually going to design him something—score. Glade immediately began filling in his name and contact details first, almost afraid she would take it back if he was too slow (though luckily he was the fastest typist among anyone he knew, so that shouldn’t be a problem.)
He only paused to glance up at her as she flipped the sign in the window over, seeing her hand move down to the lock as if on autopilot for her typical closing duties—like she’d almost forgotten there was still a customer in here. His eyes quickly returned to the form as she turned around, not wanting to be caught watching her, but what he didn’t expect after that was to hear the lock clicking into place after all. Didn’t she just look back at him? Maybe she liked to lock the door to prevent any customers from trying to get in after official closing while she was still in there with the lights on, cleaning up. The sign probably wasn’t enough to keep out the general public who paid no attention to their surroundings…Then maybe she was going to let him stay while she finished closing so they could keep talking about the commission. Glade smiled as he finished typing and Dani returned to reclaim her phone, about to open his mouth again and speak before she grabbed his arm and started dragging him away from the counter. Before he knew it, she was pulling him into a back room, locking another door, and yanking him down into a kiss. Oh. He got it now. Hell, yes. It wasn’t what he was expecting, but even better.
Reciprocating the kiss without a second of hesitation, he grabbed Dani’s hips and picked her up so he didn’t have to bend down, her legs automatically wrapping around his waist as he did so. Glade continuing to push forward, Dani quickly ended up pressed between his body and the door behind her. The little devil in him wanted to open its stupid mouth and say something cocky about how he knew she couldn’t resist him, but that was exactly the kind of thing that would give her the fire to do just that—shut the whole party down and kick him out to save her pride. Glade was a smug little shit by nature, but his one saving grace was knowing when he really needed to hold it in. The only sign he gave that he knew he was winning was his grin against Dani’s lips when he paused for a breath. “If I’d known Halloween gets you so hot and bothered, I would’ve mentioned it sooner,” he joked, moving his hands down to squeeze her ass and pull her even closer against him.

By redirecting the conversation back to why Glade had came here in the first place, Dani was challenging him. Either he would finally confirm what the both of them knew, and admit that he was only here looking for a hook up with her or he would have to lie and pretend as if he had came in to shop despite how late in the day it already was and how the only thing he had purchased was an item that he barely glanced at when buying it. And seeing how he hasn’t bothered to try and leave since making his purchase, that once again leaned more towards the proof that he was only here looking for sex from her and sex alone. Which is why it didn’t matter which choice he ends up making— she already made up her mind. With a tilt of her head, strands of her red hair brushing against the side of her cheek as she stared at him, waiting for what he’ll say next now that she had informed him the shop was officially closed. Would he finally try and leave now? The redhead had every right to kick him out if he didn’t now that opening hours were over. And yet, she stayed leaning against the counter, very aware of their closeness she had put them in.
As she watched while his gaze fell onto her lips, Dani nearly smirked at him. He was so predictable, she thought, expecting any second now for him to try and close out the space between them with the attempt on kissing her. They were in perfect range for doing so, Dani intentionally leaning in very close as if she was purposely trying to tempt Glade into doing exactly that. And she was. She was trying to tempt him, not only because she wanted to be proven right with her blunt assessment on him but also because that way they can finally drop the topic on him wanting to commission her. She still didn’t think he was being serious— all of this had to be some long winded ploy in getting her to agree to sleep with him once he had realized she wasn’t responding well to his flirting attempts. Instead, he was going to complimentary route, gassing her up to thinking she’ll be making a commission, only to tear her down once he got what he wanted from her. It was kind of sick if that was what he was actually doing, but it wasn’t as if the two of them were friends, so, he didn’t owe her his genuine interest or kindness if he didn’t want to. Besides, it wasn’t as if she didn’t know he was used to getting what he wanted.
He confirmed what the both of them were thinking, this resulting in her smirking for real. Knew it. But then as Glade leaned in closer, their lips just a hair away from pressing against one another, he did something that ended up surprising her. Instead of kissing her like Dani expected, she felt his lips brush against her cheek before mentioning the commission again in a whisper. He then pulled back, their gaze locking once more— she was dumbfounded. So he was being serious? A part of her still wanted to believe that he was playing with her, acknowledging the bait she left him but twisting it so he’ll be the one stringing her along instead of the other way around. But as she stared back at him in what now felt like them being on a standstill, the redhead also couldn’t think of why he would keep insisting on the commission if he had confessed that he wanted to sleep with her— he could’ve easily kissed her when he had the chance to. Basically, what was happening right now was that Glade had left the ball on Dani’s court, leaving her to decide on where they go from here. Lips pressing against each other, she leaned back and created more distance between them. She then took out her phone, messing around with it for a few seconds before holding it out towards him. “Fill out this forum and then press submit— this way it’s binding that you’re commissioning me and then we can work on creative process afterwards.”
After handing him her phone, the redhead moved away from the counter, and made her way towards the entrance of the thrift shop. There, she flipped the ‘OPEN’ sign over to ‘CLOSED’. Her hand then landed on the lock, but just as she was about to turn it over so that the shop would be officially closed, Dani paused for a second to look back at Glade. She should wait until he filled out the forum and tell him to leave so she could finish out her closing duties. He might actually listen to her this time and do it too. But somehow, she still felt frustrated with that thought, almost as if her dealing with him this entire time had been for nothing if all she had to do was show him her designs. With a huff, she turned the lock, effectively closing the two of them in before making her way back to him. Dani waited until she saw him press the ‘submit’ button before grabbing his arm, taking her phone back. “Done? Great— come with me.” As if she bothered to wait for his response, the redhead began pulling Glade along with her towards the back of the store, and into the break room where she knew there weren't any cameras. She locked the door from behind her too, and without as much of saying anything else, she gripped onto his shirt and pulled him down. Her lips crashing into with his.
Glade pouted as Dani laughed; he took pride in his family name, despite how goofy he knew it objectively sounded. “You think that’s funny, you should meet my friend—Randy Fluggerbutter.” Actually, if she knew much of anything about the gaming industry, she’d probably already heard that surname thanks to the Fluggerbutter family’s popular game development company, but it was still the kind of name that didn’t sound any less silly with more exposure. And it gave him someone to throw under the bus to take heat off his own unique surname. (Sorry Randy. But not really.) When Dani challenged him to find out her last name for himself, he wondered if hers was just as ridiculous, or if she just wanted to play mysterious. Even by denying that she was going to tell him herself, she was basically inviting him to involve himself more with her by telling him to find it out. He was down to play that game—pretty sure he’d learn her full name whenever he paid her for her commission anyway…if she ever actually confirmed that she would design something for him. She just liked to keep him on the hook, didn’t she?
He had honestly gotten so distracted by the thought of having some one-of-a-kind Halloween couture made for him that the mention of what he’d initially come here for surprised him. He’d already mentally written off the possibility of hooking up with Dani tonight, shifting his focus to discussing her designs, so her being the one to bring it up really threw him for a loop. Glade would have thought she’d be glad he had changed what he was looking for here. She wanted him to leave from the moment he walked through the door, obviously knowing that he was only after a hook-up, but after having a real conversation with each other for probably the first time ever—wouldn’t she hope he was forgetting and forgoing his desire for sex tonight? Instead, she was calling him out on it, leaning over the counter to eliminate almost all the space between them and proving Glade right in his belief that she was still attracted to him despite how actively she tried to resist the feeling. Fucking called it. But was she seriously inviting him to take advantage right now? He wished he knew what was going on inside her head.
It was hard to concentrate when Dani’s face was so close to his, his gaze automatically dropping to her lips. He had to assume she knew the risks of placing herself a mere breath away—she had to know he could take it as a sign that she was receptive and kiss her. If she didn’t want that, there was no way she’d breach the personal space bubble first…Unless it was a test. If he broke the boundary, would it prove to her that he was only after one thing? Would she then refuse to work with him for the Halloween outfit? Glade didn’t have much time to analyze all his options and their potential outcomes, acting on instinct. “That is what I wanted,” he answered honestly, because it would have been idiotic to lie when they both obviously knew why he’d come into this store with no intentions of shopping. “But now I have an ulterior motive.” He closed the gap between them, moving in like he was going to kiss her, but slipping to the side so his lips only brushed her cheek as he whispered, “I really want to order a custom suit from you.” He pulled back then, looking Dani in the eyes again. Two could play at the teasing game. Whatever her deal was…If she still didn’t believe that he was serious about commissioning her, he was standing firm. And if she wanted to fuck, she could say it with her words instead of provoking him to ask her for it, like he was the only one who wanted to.

For free, huh? Dani thought, raising her brow at him with sarcastic snort. Yeah right, maybe if she slept with him again he would happily let her check out his families farm for free. There was no way he was promising her that without there being some kind of strings attached. After all, hadn’t he came here looking for a hook up with her? Glade has yet to be transparent over his reason for stopping by the thrift shop, but she sure as hell knew it wasn’t to actually be a customer despite him making a purchase. She bets that if she took him on his offer, he’ll then spin it in a way to bring it right back to why he was here in the first place, all while smirking at her in the same way he had been when he first came in. That thought alone annoyed her and reminded the redhead that she was supposed to be chasing him away from her— not they were mingling around, talking about Halloween, a pumpkin farm that throws an apparently awesome Fall Festival, and now a potential future commission???
“Sorry! I take my commissions seriously and I needed to be sure you aren’t trying to pull my leg!” She retorted right back, now with a frustrated huff. Excuse her for not wanting to believe that he seriously wanted to commission her for an outfit when he could go to literally any other designer! Especially if she actually accepts and starts working on it, just for him to then say he was messing with her all along? But if he kept insisting that he was then fine— maybe she will accept. “Orangeboar?” Dani repeated, this time letting out a louder laugh. Well that certainly was a unique last name if she’s ever heard one! And just like him, she didn’t think she could call him by Mr. Orangeboar without losing a straight face. Guess she’ll be sticking with Glade for him instead, which then when he asked for her last name, the redhead merely smirked. “That’s for you to find out for yourself.” She claimed mysteriously. Once again, she was losing herself within their conversation, Dani going as far as to ask Glade what design he had in mind like she was seriously considering in accepting his commission. He got all excited in return, immediately letting her know that he wanted a king of the jack-o-lanterns kind of vibe.
It’s kind of funny how weirdly into all this Glade became the second he saw her designs. Most people who ever got a peak would just compliment her before moving on to the next topic, and besides her family, the last person who got this excited over her work had been her ex-boy— Oh. Mind traveling back to that summer day where she and Slightly first met, the redhead sitting on a bench sketching an outfit idea that had came to mind at the time until she heard music being played not too far from where she sat. She had looked up to see who was playing, liking the song she was hearing yet not recognizing the tune to pinpoint it. That was when her eyes connected with that of a blonde musician, lost in his own world as he played. Dani had listened through the entire song before she had came up to him and told him how cool his song was and that she liked it. He told her it was his latest EP and after introducing themselves to one another, the two of them had began chatting until Slightly questioned her about her sketchbook. The redhead had shown him designs, and it was the first time since anyone outside of her family who seemed so interested in her work. He hadn’t even seen her designs made into life outside of a cardigan she had been wearing that day but Slightly had been impressed— insisting that she was super talented. His words had sparked something in her that day, and after that, they started to hang out even more, eventually began dating, and the rest should’ve been history between them— Until Glade came into the picture.
Looking back at him, her grip tightened against her sketchbook. “…..You came in here looking for a hookup, didn’t you?” She suddenly asked, forgoing answering his question about masks. She hadn’t outright agreed to the commission, and with there only being less than five minutes until closing, she figured she’ll finally get straight to the point with him. “So you came in at this time.” Without even waiting for his answer, the redhead placed her sketchbook against the counter before she leaned over against it like she had done so earlier, her face only centimeters away from Glade's. “That’s what you really wanted from me—” Because you know I’ll give in, she thought in shame and frustrated with herself. No, he was the main one at fault. He was the one who kept on flirting with her despite knowing she was taken. But he didn’t care. From the back of his head, she peaked up at the clock hanging against the wall of the store. Dani sardonically smiled. “The shop’s officially closed.”
“Yeah, you should! Tickets are ten to twenty-five depending on the day, but I’ll get you in for free,” Glade promised with a grin, hoping she actually would take him up on the offer. It wasn’t often that he had anyone actually be interested in coming to the family farm, despite how awesome their Fall Festival was. Though he shared some common interests with his main friend group—namely the gaming that formed their careers as streamers—they weren’t really into Halloween to the extent he was. Besides some fun group costumes and parties over the years, most of them didn’t have interest in going out of their way to spend time on a farm just because of the spooky season. Not their scene. Dani didn’t seem like she’d have as lofty tastes as the crew he spent most of his time with, so he didn’t hesitate to invite her over. She seemed to keep hesitating to believe that he really wanted to commission something from her, though. Damn, was she ever suspicious.
“Yes—how many times do you want me to say it?” he asked. While he worried that annoying her might make her reject the commission from him, it was impossible to keep from sassing her entirely; at this point it was just how they interacted with each other, and Dani seemed to be taking it in stride right now rather than still trying to chase him out of the store…Maybe the promise of a new client for her private design business was too enticing to deny. He didn’t like the idea of switching to a last name basis with her, however, scrunching his nose at the suggestion. “I don’t want you to call me Mr. Orangeboar,” he replied. It wasn’t that he didn’t have pride in his family name, but it was one of those ‘Please, Mr. Orangeboar is my father’ situations. Glade tilted his head as he realized Dani now knew his surname, but he still didn’t know hers. “What’s your last name?”
When she asked what he would want her to make for him, he thought they were finally getting somewhere. If he’d led with the fact that money was no object and she could name any price she wanted, he wondered if she’d have bitten faster—was the money worth putting up with him? But he got the vibe that throwing around his wealth would sway her even more in the direction of finding him unbearable to be around and make it less likely for her to accept, regardless of the price she could charge, so he elected not to bring up the money matter until she did. He addressed her question by spitballing his immediate idea for the design he’d like. “Something pumpkiny, obviously.” Looking up into space like he could see the vision now, he spread his hands as if revealing a title card on an invisible screen. “King of the jack-o-lanterns.” The masquerade theme would be perfect for something like that. He looked back at Dani. “Do you do masks, too?”

Witch. He called her a witch and for the first time since she was eight years old, Dani hated it. Because he wasn’t referring to her as one of the good witches they had around Destiny Isle like Binx’s girlfriend, no— Slightly was regarding her as the kind of witch that went out and purposely hunted children for their souls like the Sanderson’s. She was a real villain within his eyes, and now she knew that no matter what she says, he didn’t care. He didn’t care to know if she had been hurt during their relationship because to him, if she couldn’t handle his trust issues than she should’ve broken up with him. And he was right. Dani should’ve broken up with him instead of going behind his back and cheating on him. Her eyes began to sting, yet she tried to fight back the tears that wanted to come out. But that was the thing, she didn’t want to be that person who left their partners because of a reason like them having trust issues. She had known that Slightly had been hurt multiple times in the past. That his trust issues hadn’t just came out of nowhere, but rather it was because he feared of being hurt yet again. And for that, Dani wanted to try. She stayed with him because she wanted to show him that she was willing to deal with his trust issues, that she was understanding of them, and how he could trust her— but she was also human.
He would never understand that with every accusation he made, it broke her heart little by little. How small he made her feel whenever he spoke badly of her character when before she ever met Glade, not once has she given Slightly a reason to distrust her or what she truly wanted from their relationship. God, he had been her first serious boyfriend for crying out loud! If there was anyone she had been the most open and honest with, it had been him! Even from the first moment they met last summer, Dani’s been honest. From the genuine compliment she gave to his song, to showing him her personal designs, and even when she blurted out that she liked him after they got lost speaking to one another and wanted to see him more. She had been her most authentic self with him, she thought that had been what he liked so much about her in return. That’s why they got together not long after that and why they continued dating even after the summer ended. Her eyes stung even more, and at this point she couldn’t even fight it. There relationship had been so great back then too— so great, Dani even thought she could fall in love with Slightly. Scratch that, she had been falling for him, so hearing him say he had been in love with her? The redhead wanted to believe that was true, and yet she couldn’t because how can he say he loved her when clearly he never trusted her?
Lifting a hand to her cheeks, Dani whipped away some of her tears. “…..You made your point.” the redhead replied, finally realizing that there was no point in her staying here. Slightly wasn’t ever going to want to be her friend again, and there was no use in her arguing to try and make him see her point of view. He’ll never see how hurt she had actually been back then before she ever did anything because he’ll only ever view her as the cheater who broke his heart. The cheating witch who broke his heart. “Believe me or not, I am sorry I cheated on you. I truly never wanted to become another addition to those who had hurt you but— it doesn’t matter now because I still did it.” She made one last apology, turning around so she could go and leave him be. At this point, Dani can only hope that the next girl he falls for can truly prevail and not hurt him like she did. And from what she’s seen whenever she spotted him with that other redhead and how happy he seemed to be with her around, maybe there was a chance. “Make sure to trust and believe in her. You’ll be way happier if you do.” And loved too, she thought, walking away.
Dani would have had a good point that Slightly serenading her at that party wasn’t her fault—if she wasn’t missing his point entirely. While he certainly never would have gotten up there and embarrassed himself that way if she had told him sooner that she had cheated on him, he still wasn’t trying to place the blame on her for what he did that night. He was calling attention to the fact that she never would have told him what happened back when they were dating if he hadn’t tried to get back together with her. Sly was absolutely sure she would have just kept up the lie as long as they remained “friends,” and his speculation was only further proven by her refusal to answer his direct question about it. Instead of reflecting on why he was finding it impossible to forgive her or want to be friends again, Dani was getting defensive about her side in their breakup, showing to Slightly that her appeal for forgiveness was selfish after all. Maybe he cared more about his own pain than about hers, too, but he wasn’t the one out here trying to talk to her and reforge a relationship. She had come out of her way to ask something of him; he had no desire to rebuild this burnt bridge. If she had wanted to be friends, she should have thought of that a long time ago and done things a lot differently.
“Am I a villain for being jealous then?” he shot back as she cited an unfairness in how she was being treated like one, like he should be considered as equally in the wrong for what went down between them. Maybe he had been overbearing in his fear that Dani would cheat on him or leave him, but he had eventually taken the hint that it was an untenable situation and broken it off, like a decent human would when a relationship completely stopped working. It had only been later that he learned he’d done that too late, and she had already gone behind his back by that point. “So I had trust issues—then you should have broken up with me!” He raised his voice for the first time, frustration with this conversation evident in every facet of his body language and expression. He reigned his temper back in enough to lower his volume, but maintained the heat in his tone as he continued, “If it was such a struggle to be with me, then you should have broken up with me instead of cheating. Do you get it? Fucking another guy as some kind of payback for me not believing you, doing the exact thing I was worried about?” That was more than petty; it was spiteful. “I was—I was in love with you, Dani! I might have had my own issues, but you decided to rub them in instead of walking away. You are a villain to me—you’re a fucking witch.”

Mentally mourning a little at the loss of a bracelet that wasn’t even her’s in the first place, the redhead watched as he pocked the bracelet after she finished with his transaction. The only thing she hoped he would do is that he’ll give it to someone who would actually wear it, as it would both be a shame and infuriating if the only thing he did with the jewelry piece was throw it away once he finally left the place. But even if that exactly is what Glade ends up doing, it’s not like Dani would be none-the-wiser about it. She was really betting that tonight was a one off thing between them, not expecting to see or run into him anytime soon after her shift ends for the night, and yet, she had a sense that this wouldn’t actually be the last time. Something told her that Glade was planning on stopping by more often now— but if he did, hopefully it wouldn’t be when it was only her at the store.
Her eyes grew in astonishment as he eagerly explained to her what his family did at their pumpkin farm throughout the autumn season. Hearing as he went on about the Fall Festival they hold and all of the fun attractions and events that occurs both before and even after Halloween passes. Dani hated to admit to it, but everything sure did sound really fun, and she was actually shocked that this was the first time she was hearing about any of this. In all the years she’s been living at Destiny Isle since her and her family first moved here, how have she never heard about this Fall Festival Glade’s family hosts? Maybe because he came from a rich and well-off family, so maybe his family’s farm was only open to those of his similar status? At that thought, the redhead frowned. That did sound like a very likely thought, especially considering the type of people he hung out with— all who came from wealthy families. Not like Dani. She was the total opposite of that. “All that does sound like fun. Maybe if I’m allowed in I might check the farm out.” She replied, as despite Glade saying she should check it out, it didn’t exactly mean that he was personally inviting her to go. Although everything did sound so cool and she was curious on how this farm looked like, so maybe sometime soon she would actually stop by. She could even go with Max, Alli and Poppy. Poppy would love the corn maze and petting zoo. Katie too, so maybe Dani could also convince Jay to check the place out as well.
As Glade confirmed that he wanted to commission an outfit from her, Dani nearly snorted as he said he’ll be the best dressed if she made him an outfit to the Halloween ball. Obviously she knew about it. She was planning on going to the ball herself and dragging a friend along as her date, but figures that he was planning on going himself. Especially with this newfound realization that he liked Halloween the same way she did. But to claim that he’ll be the best dressed thanks to her? When he could easily commission an outfit from a well-known and established designer instead? “You seriously want to commission me?” The redhead repeated, this time letting herself to snort as he winked at her. He really couldn’t help himself, could he? Yet, rather than being annoyed, there was actually a bit of humor within Dani’s eyes. “The “sir” treatment is only for customers at this shop— normally for those who commission me, I go by last names unless stated otherwise to keep the professionalism, so even if I do agree to commission you, at best that’s what I’ll refer to you as.” Speaking of which, she didn’t think she even knew what Glade’s last name was. Maybe he mentioned it back when they first met, but that felt like so long ago. Examining him, the redhead tried to guess if he was being serious about all of this or if this was some kind of ploy. She can accept that they both had a mutual interest in Halloween, but who is to say that this isn’t his way to try and get into her pants again? “If I agree to commission you— what kind of design you want me to make you?”
If it wasn’t clear enough from her expression when Dani looked down at the bracelet (Glade was still observing her rather than the jewelry) it would have become obvious with what she said as she rang him up: she wanted the bracelet for herself. She didn’t say so explicitly, of course, because she was delivering excellent customer service, but he could read between the lines of what it meant that someone else would have bought it if not for him. Dani was too easy to read despite her best attempt to stay polite and pleasant. It seemed Glade’s ability to annoy her without even trying persisted. He almost wanted to give the bracelet right back to her and see if he could earn a more genuine smile, but decided to hold onto it for now, taking and rolling it up to stuff in his pocket. He’d find another time to give it to Dani, because that meant they’d have to meet again. Holding your bracelet hostage until you warm up to me, he thought, still smirking.
His smugness didn’t last once he and Dani got to talking about Halloween, melting away for genuine excitement about the topic. He nodded eagerly in agreement to her interest in his family’s farm, saying, “Definitely! We host a Fall Festival from mid-September all the way to the beginning of November. I mean, there’s a hayride, a corn maze, a petting zoo and more during the day. Fright nights on the weekends! Pumpkin smash after Halloween—that’s really fun if you’ve never been there. You should come by this season and see it!” It was only after extending the personal invitation that Dani seemed to remember she hated him, the captivated spark in her eye disappearing as her expression shuttered closed again. So, it was going to take more than one mutual interest to get her to really want to hold a conversation. He was just unsure why she really thought he was going to tease her or think her weird for her hobby. Her designs were objectively fucking awesome, and he wanted ten. She couldn’t be surprised that he wanted to commission her after he showed her just how in love with the holiday he was, could she?
“Hell yeah, I do! There’s this Halloween masquerade ball at that one hotel coming up, you know? I’d be the best dressed if you made me something like those sketches.” He itched to get another look inside her notebook and peruse through her designs, but didn’t go as far as swiping it from her again—if only because she might actually swing on him next time he did something like that. “Plus, I might be treated to some more of your excellent service if I’m your patron. I liked it when you called me sir,” he added with a rakish wink, unable to stop from slipping back into flirting despite the knowledge that she’d keep rebuffing him. It was just too fun to resist. But he was serious about paying her to design and create a Halloween-inspired outfit for him. He hoped her distaste for his general personality wasn’t going to be a hindrance to that end. Maybe he should cool it so she wouldn’t decline his commission. “Just kidding! You don’t have to call me that. And I won’t call you by your full name again,” he promised, backtracking a little so he could ensure she knew he wasn’t going to make the whole thing difficult on her if she decided to accept his offer; he really did want to come out of this with one of her hand-designed pieces. Although he had come here tonight looking for a hook-up, he wouldn't mind turning his libido off around Dani for as long as it took them to work out this deal.

Dani knew that saying sorry wasn’t going to cut it. Yet, she felt like she still had to give it a shot— wanting her ex to know that despite what it may seem, she really was apologetic for cheating on him. Maybe at the time she hadn’t been, so caught up with the anger and hurt she felt whenever Slightly would suddenly assume that she was cheating when at first she never was. It wasn’t until the accusations got even worst and when he wouldn’t believe her was when Dani snapped.
“You can’t blame me for what you did at the party! It’s not like I asked for you to go up there and sing me a song!” She defended. How was she to blame for someone else messing with him at the party that he decided to get drunk enough to decide that he wanted to serenade her! If anything, Dani not accepting his drunken confession was a good thing for Slightly. Not only because she knew she couldn’t without him knowing the truth, but what if she said yes and then with a clear head, he realized he didn’t want to get back together with her? She would’ve deserved it if that had been the case, but it would have been such as mean on her exes part messing with her in return since he didn’t know then. “Yes, I lied— but at first I wasn’t! I was being honest when I said I never cheated, and yet you kept on insisting that I did or you would roll her eyes at me, looking like you didn’t believe me! How else was I supposed to take it when my very own boyfriend didn’t trust me enough to believe it when I say that just because some guy was hitting on me that I was interested in him back!” It wasn’t fair. She messed up— Dani knows that, but it wasn’t like Slightly had been a saint within their relationship either! He had been the reason she was pushed to the edge! To why she decided to give in and sleep with Glade. For why it happened over and over again— Dani froze at his next question.
Would she have told ever told him? She wanted to say that she would have, that she wouldn’t have kept her cheating a complete secret forever. But then she realized that before the party happened, things were going great between her and Slightly. Once her ex had decided to let go of his anger towards her, Dani had every chance to tell him the truth before he invited her to the party. Heck, she could’ve mentioned it before when he was still angry, because at least then he would’ve had a more justified reason to hate her. But then they wouldn’t have became friends again, and though the chances of that happening again was nonexistent now, the redhead wanted nothing more than to go back to when things were going good between them. Because despite their issues back when they were dating, Dani missed him. Instead of answering his question, there was hurt on her face. “…..It’s not fair that I’m the only one treated like a villain here. I’ll tell you everything if that’s what you want, but you weren’t the only one who got burned in our relationship.”
“Because you—” Slightly was astounded by how far from the point Dani was as she cut him off to guess at why there was no chance he could go back to being friends with her. “You think it’s because you cheated?” Let alone that she thought being sorry was enough to make up for her betrayal—even if Slightly was able to forgive her for the original offense, what cut deeper was the total lack of accountability for it until it was far too late. “It’s because you cheated and lied. You swore until we broke up that you never cheated on me. And then you didn’t tell me the truth until after I made a fool of myself at that stupid party in front of all my friends.”
He paused to let it sink in, still staring at Dani with incredulity. “Would you have ever told me if I hadn’t tried to get back together?” At this point any possible shred of trust left between them had been destroyed, so he couldn’t put it past her to have been planning to stay friends with him and just never let him know what she had done behind his back when they’d been dating. Obviously there was nothing to gain from the confession besides taking the weight of the secret off Dani’s chest—it would have been easy enough to act like it never happened. Until he got wasted over another failed romance and made the drunken decision to ask his ex to try again with him, deluded into thinking his jealousy that had originally torn them apart had been unfounded. The whole time, he’d had good reason to be suspicious, had been right to trust his instincts and break up with her even if he hadn’t had proof back then. “If that’s the kind of friend you are, I don’t want it,” he finished, point made.

“sorry, i gotta go check the moon cycle.” -Binx ( @nctahousecat )
“What?” With a laugh, the redhead looked at Binx with mixed confusion and amusement at his words. “Checking the moon cycle? As in, you track whenever a full moon is getting closer or not?” Dani asked. How this was the first time she was hearing about this in all the years she’s known Binx, it was hard to say. But it made sense now that she thought about it. Ever since the Sanderson Sister’s were bested, Binx now had the ability to go back and forth from being a human to being a cat. Granted, it wasn’t exactly by choice as he was still very much cursed (hence why he also is able to live for this long), but it was now only whenever a full moon was out is whenever he would transform back into a cat. But the way he had worded it had the girl chuckling a little. “Sounds like you’re going to check when your next period will be.” The redhead commented, having no shame in what she said. Periods were a natural part of a woman’s body, and it’s not like she hasn’t ever brought up the topic before. “Which, also thinking about it, after a full moon— periods are the worst!”

Dani should’ve realized that by saying she would provide him excellent customer service if he had been a paying customer, that Glade would take her words as a challenge because before she knew it, he had reached over for the nearest item they had for sale at the checkout counter and placed it down in front of her. All while never breaking eye contact with her. Brows raising high at his sudden actions, she cut their gazing short as she looked down to see exactly what he had placed before her. It was a bracelet, simple and cute, yet at the sight of it, the redhead’s eyes had slightly widened with recognition before she frowned a bit. Figures he took the one piece of jewelry she planned on buying for herself once her shift ended. Even without realizing it, he still found a way to spite her even more.
Not one to go back from her word, Dani mastered up the best ‘customer service’ smile she could make as she pretended to look happy that he was purchasing from the thrift shop today. “Good afternoon, sir. How are you this magnificent late afternoon?” She asked, acting as if their entire previous interaction hadn’t occurred. With the kind of face she had been making, it didn’t even look as if she had been annoyed at his presence just a minute ago. Reaching a hand over, she took the bracelet in one hand and held out her scanner within the other. “Just this one bracelet? Prefect choice! It’s a very pretty bracelet and if you hadn’t taken it now, someone else would’ve.” Putting emphasis on the word ‘someone’, trying to hold off on the upset frustration she now felt in not being able to get this bracelet anymore. Dani should’ve bought it back during her lunch break, but guess it just wasn’t meant to be. As she scanned the tag, the redhead then placed the bracelet within a bag and held it out towards him, forcing her smile a little more but still looking as cheery as ever. “Here you go, sir! Hope you enjoy your purchase and have a nice rest of you night!” Now leave!
It was too good to be true to think that once he made his purchase, Glade would actually finally leave her alone. But no, he had to annoy her further by trying to snatch her sketchbook away. And though it was on Dani for putting her guard down in trying to continue with her drawing, she didn’t think he would want to go that far. But now she stared at him warily, bracing herself for whatever condescending comments he had ready to fire now that he knew she liked to draw Halloween inspired outfits. So imagine her surprise when he did the exact opposite of that and claimed how cool her designs were instead. “Your family owns a pumpkin farm! Now that’s so cool! I bet it’s a highlight during Halloween!” She claimed, momentarily forgetting to hide her own excitement when he mentioned that. The redhead had leaned against the counter once again, eyes shining with interest, only for her to remember who she was talking to. And just like that, as soon as that excitement came, it was gone. “So, you don’t think I’m a weirdo then?” Dani repeated, unsure of how she should go about this now. She felt like it would’ve been easier to dealt with if Glade had in fact decided to be a jerk about this but instead, he showed her his lock screen that had a Halloween themed college, reinforcing how serious he really was about this. “Wow.”
It never once occurred to her that he may love Halloween the same way she did. Then again, besides Alli, most people Dani knew weren’t into Halloween like she was. Max and Binx sure wasn’t, but she got why they didn’t. But Glade? From what she knew about him, he never struck her as a Halloween fan like she was. Then again, it’s not like all their pervious interactions had much talking and getting to know each other but more sudden making out and becoming undressed to do more explicit acts instead. “Okay, I believe you! Just don’t say my full name again, please. Only my parents and Max are allowed to call me that!” Dani rolled her eyes, trying to hide the shock she felt over this turn of events. And Glade only continued to shock her even more, as his next question put her at a pause. “Why? You want to commission an outfit from me?”
Glade’s conviction not to buy anything he didn’t actually want dissolved as soon as Dani promised excellent service if he was an actual paying customer. She shouldn’t have done that, because he was going to hold her to her words, wanting to see what her response would be now. He didn’t break eye contact as he reached for the nearest item for sale on the checkout counter, a little bracelet from a costume jewelry rack, and placed it down in front of her. His smirk was challenging: go ahead, check me out. Give me your best. It wasn’t until she finished ringing him up and returned to her drawing that he realized her “excellent customer service” only extended to the conclusion of their exchange of goods and payment at the register and then she went right back to attempting to ignore him and waiting for him to leave now that his shopping was done and he had no further reason to hang around.
Snatching her notebook was at first another way to pester her, but once he actually saw the sketches inside, he couldn’t help complimenting them. Dani didn’t seem to believe that he meant it when he said they were cool, instead guessing that he was gearing up to make fun of her for them. He probably bothered her too much for her to ever assume he was being genuine, but it honestly hadn’t crossed his mind to tease her in any way about the designs he’d seen. “No?” He responded to her assumption with an Are you kidding? expression. “It’s even cooler that you make them for real! I love Halloween. My family owns a pumpkin farm. Candy corn is my favorite vegetable.” He pulled out his phone to show her that the lock-screen image was a Halloween-themed collage. “This is serious, Danielle.”
Was that her real name? Glade didn’t know what else Dani could be short for off the top of his head, or even if it was a nickname and not just her full first name, but that didn’t matter right now as much as convincing her that he would be the last person to make fun of her for designing outfits based on the best holiday of the year. Even his ulterior motives were for now forgotten; though he definitely didn’t believe her that that was the last time he’d feel her body so close to his, he was no longer concerned with trying to get her to hook up tonight. They actually had something real to talk about for once, and his interest was piqued. “Do you take commissions?”
