Y'all hear me out. I don't know if I might be the only one, but to me it seems that whenever Jay and Nya are reminded of anything regarding Skybound, their reactions are way too chill knowing all the shit they both went through. Among it including physical abuse, torture, kidnapping, and (most likely) underage marriage. I think it all revolves around a way of responding to their trauma. Subconsciously they do remember the entire events. However, the conscious part of their brain only has record of the good things, that being the time when they got back together. This would explain why, for instance, in season 8 they smile at each other after the commissioner mentions a pirate genie. For they consciously only remember the good, light hearted events, as their brain instantly blocks away the traumatic ones with the mere intention of protecting themselves from the pain. And this...this is so fucking sad HELP.
