LOYL - life of a young librarian
2K posts
A post-grad, newbie librarian. Mish-mash of library lolz, fandoms, etc, but mostly the visible representation of the insides of my brain.

When a patron informs me the door alarms are going off. And I, having already been working four hours at the front desk, am fully and decisive aware of that fact, and if the maintenance man who’s supposed to be fixing it were in my position, he CERTAINLY would have had it fixed by now.

Staff meetings that are supposed to be 15 minutes tops, but there’s always gotta be that one librarian who is still asking questions and keeps us there for a full 83 minutes longer...

My bloody sword to swing
My empty halls to echo with grand self-mythology

Say it’s Friday...and your boss literally only showed up at work for one (1) meeting, your other 2 Fulltimers are on vacation, and you’re saddled with not only the newbie and a two-day temp, but also, the entirety of the public and their children on spring break with nowhere better to go. And just opened registration for your biggest event..

“May we raise children who love the unloved things”
by Nicolette Sowder
May we raise children who love the unloved things–the dandelion, the worms and spiderlings. Children who sense the rose needs the thorn
& run into rainswept days the same way they turn towards sun…
And when they’re grown & someone has to speak for those who have no voice
may they draw upon that wilder bond, those days of tending tender things
and be the ones.
