9 Days Out

Hi guys,

Today is the 9th day since having my Gastric Sleeve. I'm on the 6th day of the liquid phase and I have zero pain. I’ve still got 8 more days left of the liquid phase then hopefully I can progress to the puree phase. I tell you what but, I haven’t missed eating one little bit! I’m physically craving things like eggs and a rare steak an even steamed fish (which I never crave). I’m getting all my protein in but I think it’s the iron I need. I haven’t had any discomfort drinking my liquids, I did have a drinkable yoghurt the other day which felt weird going down as it was a little thinker then I’m used to. I cannot wait for the puree’s, the first thing I’m going to have is a KFC mashed potato and gravy! Mmm J

The liquids I’m having is water, V8 juice (sugar free veggie and fruit juice), sustigen and up and go for protein, packet soups (drained so there’s no chunks), homemade beef and chicken broths, lactose free light milk (as I’m partially lactose intolerant), and I did have a small chocolate frappe from Macca’s the other day which I took 1 ½ hours to drink as I could only have 80mls every half hour but it was still delicious!

I lost 3kgs since having my operation and 8kgs since the pre-op shake diet. I know it’s not as much as I’d hoped but while I’m healing I’m not keeping an eye on the fat and sugar content of my liquids.

I'm not doing any physical activity yet as my belly wobbles when I walk and I'm still having some slight discomfort and a bit of a “pulling” sting around my surface wounds. I’m having my post-op appointment with my surgeon on the 28th of Feb so maybe he’ll clear my for some light exercise or something.
