We all know comparison is the thief of joy, but this doesn’t stop us from getting caught in the comparison trap. Everybody else seems always ‘better’, ‘smarter’, ‘prettier’, 'more successfull’ …..etc than we are. While comparison can be a source of motivation and growth, it can also spin you into a tail-chasing frenzy of self-doubt. Worrying about how someone else is 'prettier’, has more Facebook friends, or is more succesful than you is actually killing your motivation to work towards your own goals. It isn’t about what other people look like, be, do or say. It’s about you, your values and your life purpose! Black Lives Matter “not a moment, but a movement”

The people who created this hashtag Opal Tometi, Alicia Garza, and Patrisse Cullors made sure that what started as a hashtag grew into a movement with a clear set of demands to make life more equal for black lives.

One of the clear steps that they made when creating this movement was to make sure that, unlike #YesAllWomen, #BlackLivesMatter was completely inclusive to ALL. In her speech Tometi mentioned how there was not as much attention to the black women who had also been killed my police officers, and how one of their ideas for the hashtag was to draw attention to this. On the Black Lives Matter website they have a About page in which they explain what and who the movement is for, and towards the bottom there is a section that looks like this:

The website also has a Demands page where they make clear what kinds of things they believe that need to be changed in law that would help black people live more equal lives with more equal opportunity. 

One other huge difference between the Black Lives Matter and #YesAllWomen is that there have been many street protests and other organized walks to get attention to the cause. The hashtag in a way transcended from internet activism to a much larger movement.
