Just thinking out loud ??

I’m not saying any of this is fact.  Just putting together a scenario which seems to be taking shape.

First, Maria Butina is arrested and pleads guilty to acting as an agent for a foreign country (Russia).  In her pleading she agrees to help prosecutors with other investigations.

Prosecutors and Adam Schif (now CHAIR of the House Intelligence Committee) make it known they want to use her information to scrutinize two major threads regarding Trump and the NRA.  Mainly, were there any efforts to establish back channels to the Kremlin.  Second was the NRA being used by the Kremlin (or Alexander Torshin) to funnel money to the Trump election campaign.

And NOW, in the past week…we have the Russians arresting a seemingly innocent man (Paul Whelan) in Moscow, accusing him of spying.  By all accounts (even conversations with former CIA officers) Mr. Whelan is not a spy.

Would it surprise anyone if we find out Trump wants to get Mr. Whelan back as soon as possible ??  To make that happen Trump will send Maria Butina marching right back to mother Russia before she can give any further details of what she knows.  Especially since the Democrats now have control of the House Intelligence committee.  Good for Trump and good for his friends over at  the NRA.  Red Rover, Red Rover...send Maria back over!

On December 11th, regarding the 'Wall" and the government shutdown, Trump stated, "I will take the mantle.  I will be the one to shut it down.  I'm not going to blame you (democrats)".

A week later, a tweet (in addition to many others referencing the same subject) TRUMP: "It will be a Democrat shutdown", “The Democrats now own the shutdown!"

Let's not forget the premise of the "WALL'.  A major point in the Trump campaign which he stated at rallies, press conferences and speeches, "We will make Mexico pay for the wall!!'  His supporters chanted it in unison with Trump.  And now he shuts down the governemnt because he wants USA citizens to pay 7 billion dollars for the wall he PROMISED Mexico would pay for.

Say what you mean and mean what you say Mr. Trump.

Enough is Enough

This past week I was reading through my news feed when I came upon a Washington Post OpEd regarding the false statements (lies), false claims (more lies) and outright lies Trump has perpetrated on the America public in the past 24 months of his presidency. According to their fact checkers Trump has spewed forth over 7600 untruths since taking office.

Now I know we shouldn’t take some articles, especially OpEds as gospel since there may be some type of prejudice or disdain for the person they were writing about. But 7600 is a pretty big number so it got my attention. I think it is a widely known fact that Trump has a reputation of stretching the truth. But could it really be THAT much? I mean think about it. Even if only part of that list of lies holds true…..that is A LOT of lying.

I have pondered this number the last few days. What part of that number may not really be valid? I would like to think I could verify every one. But who has that sort of free time. But I then I thought, ‘well, a broken clock is right at least twice a day’. So to be fair to Trump, let’s apply that concept but in reverse. Two years in office, roughly 730 days. Everything he says is true EXCEPT for two lies each day, that gives us about 730 lies. Even that number is whopper!

So, as a result of this Washington Post article, I made a New Year’s resolution. While I didn’t have the time to look back on the prior two years of lies Trump has pushed on us. Maybe I could find the time to keep track of and verify the outright falsehoods (lies) he presents us with in the next two years. Of course if he keeps up the pace he has shown us in the first two years, there will be no way I can cover them all. But I will surely try my best to hit the real stinkers….the real ‘pants on fire’ lies he is so famous for. I am sure he will not let me down.

To help in this effort, I have christened the site Trump2020lies.com . I’ll give it my best to try and bring a little a little more multi sourced facts into this ‘if it’s on the internet it must be true’ world.
