Every other Sunday enjoying some of these:

What a lesson learned by any of us who are interested in using social media to promote an organization or a cause. Make sure you first have an actual fan base before promoting any events.

The top one is my favorite and my alma mater's library has a few copies of it. I've loved it for a long time now.

I'm confused. Why are we blown away by a junior high student, most likely eleven or twelve years old, writing in complete sentences? Why are we assigning such easy tasks to kids about to enter high school? Please tell me that this is a school for mentally challenged students. That would make this story exciting and heartwarming. Otherwise, I am even more worried about the future generation than I already was.
In one of the junior high classes this week the teacher asked the class to make a list of things they’re thankful for. She was only requiring them to write down words or single items, but one student chose to write his in complete sentences (Yes!). The teacher was blown away by the things the...

Great post and the reason why I wanted this job to begin with.
I just had a student approach me at the reference desk to personally thank me.
She’s one of our adult learners, in our nursing program, who I’ve worked with closely (I’m the nursing program liaison). We started here at the same time — I was a brand new librarian when she was…

If she finds out, would you let me know?
While teaching a smartphones class today, I mentioned that Pandora is a great app for listening to your own personal radio station. I used Maroon 5 as an example for getting a station of primarily their music. One of the elderly ladies declared that she already listens to it all the time on her iPhone. Another quickly downloaded the app and asked me, “How do I get Adam Levine on here?”
