Old. Shit tons of school. Strong interest in issues of social justice and decolonizing education. This blog will likely be a collection of social justice posts and medical articles.
Josh Orton: “I’ll never forget how @BernieSanders answered when people said the Green New Deal was too expensive. “Expensive as opposed to what?”
Responding to story: “The Bidwell Bar Bridge is surrounded by fire in Lake Oroville during the Bear fire in Oroville, California, as dangerous wildfires rage across the state. https://abcn.ws/3bFsIka”
Georgia@nationalparke: “the sky is literally the wrong color and they’re still asking how we can afford a green new deal”
Maximillian Alvarez: “the Green Dream or whatever they call it” - @SpeakerPelosi”
Jacob Blake’s sister: ‘I’m not sad. I’m not sorry. I’m angry. And I’m tired. I haven’t cried one time. I stopped crying years ago. I am numb. I have been watching police murder people that look like me for years.’
If you can, consider donating to his family to pay for legal bills, medical bills, and therapy for the whole family who were traumatized by what has happened.
His name is Jacob Blake. He was unarmed, trying to break up a fight. He was tasered and shot 7 times while trying to get into a car. His kids were watching.
This happened on 8/23. Havent found too many posts on tumblr about it yet. Police tear gassed protestors who gathered outside the police station. I'll keep an eye out for a gofundme/petition.
Patty Stonefish, of Arming Sisters, asked me to create flyers for the #WeWontForgetMMIW*, a campaign that brings a timeless ritualized gesture into today’s social media. I have had the privilege of working with her for almost two years now and her commitment to the rights of indigenous North American women is a permanent source of inspiration.
i’m sorry for the trouble but basically, me and my mom are currently homeless and both of us are disabled and immunocompromised. we desperately need help keeping a place to stay. especially for my mom as she’s reaching 60 and her health has been declining more and more recently. with the skyrocketing rates of covid19 where we are and the heat (it’s been at least 100 degrees for weeks and has even reached over 110) saying i’m terrified of us being stuck outside is an understatement. we have a deal with a local motel owner so it’s $35 a night, or $30 a night if we pay by the week. this is the cheapest place we can go anywhere around. any amount at all would help, even a dollar. and if you can’t donate, reblogging this is extremely appreciated.
