Know this: you are loved for exactly who, what and where you are. 💯 - There have been times I'd put just $5 worth of gas in my tank, while other times $60. 🚙 - I've had $5 to feed myself and I've also had $200 to cover the bill for me and the homies. I’ve had a house full of food and I’ve had nothing but oodles of noodles and hotdogs. 🍝 - I’ve lived out of a storage unit and slept in my car and I’ve owned property and timeshares. I’ve been evicted and I’ve broken leases paying the early termination fees like whatevs take that take that. 🤣 - I’ve been in stores cashing out with no worries and I’ve also had to add it up and put things back on the shelf. I’ve paid my bills in full and I’ve had to pay them months late, too. I’ve given money and I too have had to ask for it. - I’ve been beaten down and bitter about my experiences and I’ve also rejoiced in my lessons. I’ve been traumatized and abused and used. Now I’m loved and experience a joy and trust that makes me smile 😊 - We all have highs and lows in life, some have more of one than the other. Battle tested I like to think. Still we’re all just trying to survive AND THRIVE. Coming into the first Monday in June feeling....fresh and focused. 💯 - This past week was the week of reconnecting with people who I allowed to roam and who allowed me to roam. 🚶🏾‍♀️For some it was a couple years. Others a few months. Some other others it was 20 years! 😱 Thanks to me getting up the courage to go to my 20 year HS reunion. All you have to do is keep at it. Really. 💯 - I know sometimes it seems like that goal, that breakthrough, that light at the end of the tunnel is so far away. You are doing a spectacular job! 💯 - It’s easy to get lost in where you “should be”. As someone who is always looking forward I kno. I can start to best myself up for where I’m not and where I “think” I “should be”. Especially with social media. - I have a lot of inspiration on IG. Some of the women and men I follow have the body of a comic book superhero drawn by Stan Lee himself! No lie that’s how I see them. I look at them and I say “dayum” or sometimes even “yaaaaaasssss”. Side note I use “yaaaaaasssss” so much that Siri knows to suggest it when I type “y” 🤣 - I know comparisons breed contempt and yet I get lost in the rabbit hole of where I’m not and where they are. How I climb out? - I would love to say I have the strength every time to remind myself that I’m not even on level 1 yet. Sometimes, I do. I can say to myself “Self, you aren’t even on level 1 yet. These women are on level 4444. One does not fly into flying.” Other times, I need my friends, family and the people really in my corner to remind me. - Just like they are there for me. Happy Monday y’all! 😆 Let’s slay this week and achieve all our goals! 💯 - How many of y’all are like me and set weekly goals? Long term goals are great. I always look at the big picture. But I have to constantly remind myself to see the forest for the trees or the trees for the forest 🤔 one of those. 😝 - Anywho - I set weekly and even daily goals for myself. Before I kno it the day is done and I feel accomplished or like a complete failure. 🤣 Nah - for real it’s okay not to accomplish everything on your TODO List. Really it’s okay to not accomplish anything on your list. - Well why write a list Lia if I ain’t gonna stick to it?! I hear you asking. Well, my dear Watson....💩 happens. Ever heard of Tuckman’s stages of development? It’s a philosophy on group performance and effectiveness. With 4 basic stages: forming, storming, norming and performing. - Remember Real Word from @mtv ? Everyone comes to the house, they party, have fun. Everyone “likes” everyone 👫👭👬 then 💩 gets real and people crash into one another like satellites 📡 #beyonce reference intended and the fights start 💥🥊 - Now good groups normalize and start to work together and be a little more flexible. They rock out at their house job and still have their fun times. They graduate to a higher level of effectiveness and performance. Bad groups....well they fall apart. - Why this little lesson you ask? Well I like to think of these muscles as my real real world, my group, and we are JUST now getting to a normalization 🤣 We ain’t performing at the higher level yet but let’s just say yo girl is moving from level 0 to level 0.8. 🤣 - I’m just staying the course. Look 💩 pops up. Conflicts arise. Things don’t go the way EYE planned. Emphasis intentional. THAT IS OKAY. 👌🏾 - Trust if you stay the course that group, that task, that partnership, that path, that project will start to 🎶 move on up to the Eastside 🎶 - Seriously look at the graph swipe ⬅️ and see the upward swing is on the eastside. 🤣 - I say ALL this to say consistency is key. I’ve been working my ass on for almost sheesh 4 years and I just started fo real. Like in bodybuilding years I ain’t even been born yet! 😂 But I’m keeping on. - Ain’t nothing in life a sprint. I would say it’s been a long time BUT I been dropping little gems 💎 in my story for the past week. 😉 - On this #motivationmonday and #earthday and if you didn’t do it on #resurrectionsunday make sure you take some time to reflect on where you are. 🤔 I dunno how to explain this other than to tell you my thoughts 💡 by now you should be used to it. But 🎶 if you don’t kno me by now, you will never never kno me oooooh ooooh 🎵 🤣 - I feel like I leveled up in the sense that I registered my company and am officially an #entrepreneur. 😁 On the other hand I feel like I stepped up to the bottom....like I kno just enough to get me in trouble 😈 and I got so much to learn before I get to the next level/phase/stage and make this ish a success. - I climbed to the top of the financial ladder dependent on someone else aka “tha man”. Now I’m at the bottom of the entrepreneurial ladder. There’s no place to go but ⬆️ - It’s the same way with bodybuilding. My Coach @k_thefitbarbie talked about understanding what level you’re at and you think you may be at level 15 but you’re really at level 1. I did well at the regional level but my whole presentation and package was fugazee for the national level. So although I was a high level at regionals, I’m like a 0 at Nationals. There’s no place to go but ⬆️. - I kno y’all heard the saying “if you’re the smartest person in the room, you’re in the wrong room”. Where are you? #psoriasis came into my life in 2015 this pic is not even the worst of it. My feet did this for MONTHS. Months of being unable to walk. My hands did the same. I dunno how long I locked myself away and laid in bed before @aesfitbeast came to the rescue, made me eat and opened the dayum curtains. 🤦🏽‍♀️ - I don’t know if any of you suffer from an autoimmune disease, anxiety, depression, all of the above or anything that knocks you down every time you get up. If you don’t I hope you never know the despair. 💯 - If you do I pray you keep holding on and getting up every day in spite of it. 💪🏾 KEEP GETTING UP!! Fight it. Face it and stand in front of it. Rise one more time, take one more step, step out there again, lift one more rep, one more everything.....just give it one more each and every time. - I do. I did. I will. I know what it is to be knocked down so far you don’t think there will ever be light. I don’t talk about it very much. But I should. Because I know there are some just starting their battles and all this is new and overwhelming and seems indestructible. I’m here to tell you, it’s not! Keep going! - I did something that I was sure was a forgone conclusion when I started my battle with psoriasis. I GOT A PEDICURE! Y’all kno I’m sappy and I almost teared up. FOUR (4) years after my diagnosis, after having my nails just pop off because of blisters, after having my feet wrapped in seran wrap and Vaseline just to leave the house, after not even being able to get my feet done the day of my first NPC show (shout out to my MaMa @nitam51 and my BFFAE @tpringw for handling that 😘) I got a pedicure and I have 82 pictures to prove it! I just shared a couple cuz well....I didn’t think y’all wanted to look at that many pictures of my feet in all their crusty glory 🦶🏽 but if you do DM me. R.A.K. Random Acts of Kindness 💕 - Shopping for groceries this weekend and I had a cart full 🛒 - meal prep be like that! 😋 A gentleman came up behind me with TWO things in his cart. I was like ell nah, you can go in front of me. - He was shocked! Like, you sure? Dude, you only have two things. Go ahead. It just made sense to me. - This guy, without any provocation then started helping me unload my cart into the conveyor. I mean, I’m passing him stuff and he is stacking it up. Tag team! 🤜🏻🤛🏾 - That exchange just brightened the rest of my day. 😁 So if you kno me, you kno I feel like the universe is telling me something. Especially now with so much death, hate and judgment swirling around. I feel like random acts of kindness can make a difference.
