Found this interesting got some Ulquihime deja vu from this scene from the manga with screenshot scenes from otome game Office Lover 2 with Ritsu Tachibana and the heroine another favorite pairing of mine.
Definite Deja Vu not to mention Tachibana asks the same thing Ulquiorra asks Orihime questioning her why she defended Ichigo against him when she didn’t defend him from his first attack. Tachibana questions the heroine too why she’s defending her coworker against him when she left with him in the first place, but now she’s trying to go back to where her coworker is, That doesn’t sit well with Tachibana, and Orihime doesn’t know how to respond to Ulquiorra’s questions like the heroine doesn’t know how to respond to Tachibana’s questioning.
I thought this particular scene though with Ulquihime reminded me of a common situation with couples where a partner takes the opposing side instead of their partner’s side and getting called out for it, by their partner. Almost like loyalty to the partner is being questioned, but it could be more like in Ulquihime situation they don’t want to choose sides because they either agree with both sides or want to protect both, so there at a standstill.
This logic perplexes both Ulquiorra and Tachibana because Ulquiorra would choose one side he choose Aizen’s side and Tachibana choose one side he would choose the CEO’s there would be no gray area or hesitation whose side to take, so both men are confused by this hesitation of Orihime and the Heroine because hesitation doesn’t exist for these men they see hesitation could get you killed, so both are frustrated by both women, but the hesitation of both the heroine and Orihime is shared their hearts are both shaken or torn because they want both sides to be safe and unharmed.
I noticed Tachibana has similar personality to Ulquiorra, both have sharp minds, confident, sensitive, strong, insightful, fearless, methodical, misunderstood and are private people who value their solitude, but viewed by others in their worlds as cold, heartless, cruel, expressionless, intimidating and follow orders from their superiors regardless of anything.
They also share the same view on the heart, but change because of the time they spend with Orihime for Ulquiorra and the Heroine for Tachibana, so both women bring out the feelings and humanity out of both men who have always repressed their emotions and been misunderstood.
I also felt that their value in solitude lessens when they start to be more open to having company of Orihime for Ulquiorra and The Heroine for Tachibana.
The Heroine like Orihime shares also the same view of the heart, so yeah I feel they’re very Ulquihime like for those similarities.
It’s unclear what Tachibana’s true feelings are toward the heroine, I believe he has feelings for her since he said he finds her interesting and she confuses him which perked his interest in her, but he’s very protective of her maybe even possessive to the point of being bodyguard like and her being hurt, sad or troubled greatly affect him. She seems to be always on his mind and it upsets him when she doesn’t listen to him, which he’s not used to people not following his orders. He though throws her off when he occasionally compliments her, so I believe he does have strong feelings for her, especially since he seems to ONLY like her company and not others,but she herself seems to be drawn to him like a moth to a flame, but again I find those two really remind me of Ulquihime in personality because of how they interact with each other.
Notice that reoccurring distance appeared again with Ulquiorra and Orihime that I brought up in previous posts. I found that interesting how much that shows up.
I really wanted to know what Ulquiorra was going to say to Orihime in that scene , why did he have to get interrupted :( Though I’ve read in Ulquihime fanfics of people writing what they think he might have said, still though I’m curious what he was actually going to say to her in that heat of the moment scene I’m sure it would have been interesting. Even if Ichigo didn’t care what he was going to say I sure did.
I will say it was Ichigo that made Ulquiorra realize he was changing and becoming more human causing Ulquiorra to acknowledge the cause for this change in him was Orihime which in that scene you see Ulquiorra biting his lip but his eyes are hidden while Orihime is looking at him, this scene gets brought up again when Ulquiorra asks if Orihime is afraid of him and she says she is not while he responds the same way to her biting his lip again while saying “I see.” Only this time in that scene we actually see his eyes and see the strong emotion reflected in them toward Orihime.
I think if Ulquihime were a married couple though and Orihime went over board on something because I think she would or maybe spent too much on something Ulquiorra would definitely give her a long lecture for it, since she tends to get scolded by him. I just got funny feeling he be the one managing their finances since he’s very methodical. I think that make for a funny fanfic/fanart piece though ^^

OUAT criticism: How the writers of OUAT mishandled Beauty and the Beast in Season Four
Well, now that it’s very clear that this story arc is redoing Beauty and the Beast, it has become clearer to me why they showed Rumple as such a disappointingly one-dimensional turd for so long. I still think they made a very crucial mistake in their strategy, but I do understand what they were going for.
Revisiting Beauty and the Beast with Rumplestiltskin as the Beast was one of the show’s most brilliant ideas from its onset back in season one. It gave an extra layer of human emotion to its most dangerous villain. It also allowed Bobby Carlyle, the show’s best actor, an amazing showcase to display every facet of his talent. He was already devious, violent, crafty, terrifying, devoted to his son, remorseful, and tragic; now, he was also permitted to be romantic, with unexpected effectiveness for a man so much older than the rest of the cast.
It probably also contributed to the slow progression of OUAT becoming, for a couple of seasons there, basically the Rumplestiltskin show featuring the Charmings, Mayor Mills, and a few other assorted leads that came and went.
There was an inevitable downside. With Belle at his side, Rumple’s behavior got better a whole lot faster than they probably originally intended. When he’s renouncing evil by the beginning of the third season and tromping off to sacrifice his life in atonement for his evil deeds, that’s pretty freaking fast for a guy who is supposed to be inflicted with the Dark One. He got better faster almost as fast as Regina did. They had to slow this down.
Also, Skin Deep told the story of Beauty and the Beast with a sad ending. Since she came back, the ending never really happened. Now, here’s the kicker. When they were in the Enchanted Forest together, it was easy to see the Beast, because Rumple was in his imp makeup. Even if he was chatting about Neal, setting her free to “get straw” and catching her when she fell off ladders, his beastliness was all over his face and hands.
In Storybrooke, Gold appears to be human. If he’s also behaving like everybody’s favorite magical grandpa, there just doesn’t appear to be any need for True Love’s Kiss. The Beast appears to be gone. The only way to bring the Beast back is by altering his behavior fairly radically. The trouble with that is that he’s always been a pretty violent and devious son-of-a-bitch. The reason why he’s still been beloved is that his motivations have always been very clearly shown, and we always understood where he was coming from. Even the Beast inside him had ceased to be repugnant.
Their solution, then was for them to have him commit repugnant acts with no explanation. They had gotten through the part of the story where Beauty and the Beast became close. Now, they could only move forward if they created a scenario that caused Beauty to leave her Beast behind to pine for her. Since they had done such a fine job of proving that these two loved each other like the moon and stars and they were going at it like rabbits behind every bush, something very radical had to happen. She had to leave him. And for that to be even remotely believable, he had to do something terrible that she did not understand.
Then they would finally be at the crucial point of that fairy tale - a Beast dying of a broken heart, who can only be saved through her love. That is where we are now, and what they are doing finally, FINALLY makes sense. The original fairy tale has now been picked up at a recognizable place.
The problem is, that with their hell-bent obsession with keeping their direction hidden, and with their apparent belief that the show can only be effective if they keep us wondering what the hell is happening, they have undercut the impact of what should have been one of their most beautiful arcs.
They have forgotten what made the show a hit in the first place. That first season was gloriously successful. It was touching and beautiful and it introduced us to a host of amazing characters we all loved. But you know what it wasn’t, really? It wasn’t all that suspenseful about the expected end result. Did anybody ever really doubt that Mary Margaret and David would find each other again? Of course now! We knew they were Snow White and Sleeping Beauty. We knew they belonged together. The only question was how that would be managed. Did we ever doubt, for one instant, that Emma would eventually accept that she was the Savior and end their curse? No. The journey, not the end result, was the reason for watching.
The mistake they made here was in assuming that we would not be interested in watching the journey of Beauty and the Beast by itself. They thought we would be more interested in the show if we doubted that was what we were actually seeing. They wanted us to doubt that the Beast could be saved - or worse yet, make us wonder if that was even an acceptable option. When you read the Fairy Tale of Beauty and the Beast, the point is not to make the reader wonder why the hell Beauty even bothered to try to get to know this guy. The point is to celebrate the fact that she did try, and she was rewarded for it. Then, when she attempted to go back to her normal life, she missed him and discovered that she loved him, despite his beastliness.
That’s what makes that fairy tale work. In this rewrite, the emphasis for very much too long is the beastliness of the Beast, and - this is really important - there has been almost no exploration of the Beauty’s journey at all. For us to buy into that Fairy Tale, we have to understand what she finds so compelling. When he’s dying, that event has to make us want to cry, and hope desperately that she can somehow fix it. We should have been seeing scenes of Belle in that shop, wandering through the relics of old adventures, looking at old photographs, picking up old keepsakes and love letters that belie her belief that he’s nothing but a Beast. We should have seen her wondering if she was really right at the town line after all. Then, Hook or the Charmings could bring up his crimes again and make her firmer in her resolve to move on… but something should be wrong. It should be like David attempting to be happy with Kathryn. He knew something was off. By now, she should be knowing it, too. This is her story, not just his. It should be about her love, not just his, and that love is something we should see in the present rather than just remember from the past - the past which has been betrayed by his evil actions.
I think the writers tried to rely too much on Rumbelle’s rich and beautiful history in order to propel the audience to keep hoping for their reconciliation. What they forgot was that 4A wasn’t just a fight, or an obstacle. It was a game-changer, a series of events that, for far too many people in the audience, destroyed the story that had gone before. She stopped believing that their love could work. But that’s the heartbreaking thing; Beauty’s love for the Beast is the most important element of that story, NOT the other way around. They’ve got him trying to find some way to prove his love for her, but that’s not the element that makes the original fairy tale successful.
Belle should be much more engaged in the story at this point than she is, and she should, at the very least, be very worried about HIM - because of his grief, his trauma, and the dark and painful events that caused him to regress so badly. She should be trying to figure out what is wrong with him, and the final realization of what it is should break her heart. Furthermore, the audience should be going through the same process. Instead of just hating what Rumple’s become and wishing he were dead, we should be very worried about him as well. We should be seeing the agony that’s driving him to this horrific frenzy, instead of just the nightmarish results.
That’s not a process that should happen in two episodes, when he’s been behaving like a violent and unprincipled monster for sixteen episodes with no sympathetic centrics of any kind whatsoever since the middle of the Neverland arc. Rumplestiltskin only worked, ever, because despite the evil, despite the violence, despite the tricks, his heart was always on display. It was raw, agonized, and above all, deeply and passionately loving, with a force that shook entire realms. Take away the heart of the Beast, and this is no fairy tale. Take away the heart of the Beast, and there’s no reason for Beauty to love him, to care that his life has been torn asunder and he’s dying.
Result: The show’s most beloved romance is coming to its most dramatic point, and the audience is tuning out. The ratings are down, the media thinks Rumplestiltskin is going to die, and far, far too many people are rooting for that result as the Happy Ending. In their desire to keep us in suspense, they have lost sight of the beauty of this show.
These are fairy tales. We already know how they turn out. The point is not to make us wonder if they will end happily, but make us marvel at the modern - world, American spin they place upon the stories told in a different place and age than our own.
We should not be wondering if Beauty should love her Beast, or make any attempt to help him. We should be wondering how she’s going to manage to do it, and hoping desperately that she succeeds. That’s what’s gone wrong with this arc.
