oh i never know how to explain this properly but i looooooooooooooooove when a story just absolutely TELLS you something and it’s so obvious it goes right by you. like the equivalent of hiding in plain sight. i’m thinking in the original cut(?) of alien where they showed the full xenomorph, crouched and ready to pounce, but because we’ve never seen it before, we can’t tell what it is and interpret it as part of the spaceship. or it’s a detail that seems so out of place or wildly insane that you automatically ignore it and assume you misinterpreted until that exact detail comes back in a big way? (like when noah the raven boy flat out tells everyone he’s a ghost and they take it as a joke, so the reader does too) is there a tvtropes name for this i’m obsessed with it

I've been thinking about the opening scene of season two and more specifically angel Crowley who couldn't have cared less for whoever the random angel he called to his side to help with booting up the universe, only half-responding to whatever Aziraphale was saying because he was focused on his own task. I've also been thinking about how quickly in the final fifteen that Crowley shot back at Aziraphale's offer with "that angel is not me."
While it's not fully literal, what if the thought of deeming anything more important than Aziraphale is so unthinkable that he doesn't consider his angel-self, enamored with his stars and plants, the same person? That even just making the offer he takes as a jab to his very being- do you really think that I do not, that I cannot love you enough like this? When I am solely made from my love for you?
Aziraphale just wants to protect him, but Crowley would never even consider the option if it meant changing any part of him to defer from his love for the angel. He would give up the stars and fall a million times over again as long as it means that he could continue to love Aziraphale as much as he does.

This woman was arrested for WORDS.
We should rally for her as much as the guy who actually shot someone. Push back.

Also, I am just going to say it:
If your CEO is so inconsequential to the success of your company that he can be gunned down in the street like a dog and it has absolutely no impact on your company whatsoever, maybe he doesn't actually need to be paid several hundred times as much as your median employee.
Maybe you could get away with, like, ten to fifteen times and spend the extra tens of millions of dollars you save on something else.
Just thinking out loud.

okay so i work in the deli of a grocery store, yeah? and today i got this guy who came up with his two twin children, around five years old. he walks up to the counter, carrying one kid in each arm, and loudly goes "oh, no, i forgot what i wanted!" and turns to the boy in his left arm and, in a perfect blues clues style voice, goes "caleb, do you remember what i wanted?" and the boy goes "half pound of yellow cheese!"
i, obviously, say "you've got it little sir!" and slice up half a pound of yellow american cheese, handing it to the little boy, who looks it over, nods, and tucks it in his lap.
then the man goes "well, we can't just have cheese on our sandwiches. but what else can we put on there?" and the little gurl in his other arm goes "half pound of ham!" so i nod and say "yes ma'am! what kind?" and she points at a random cut of turkey, so her father nods and says "like she said, honey ham!" i cut half a pound of honey ham, hand it to the little lady, she looks it over, nods and puts it in her lap.
then the man goes "now, what should we have for the side?" and the kids both simultaneously start cheering "macking cheese!!!" and the man spins on his heel and marches off, presumably to find the macking cheese.
later, the little boy comes wandering back to the counter while his father looks on and loudly and proudly proclaims that he wants to know where the mustard is. i point him to the correct aisle, he nods, says "thank you mister deli woman" and walks away.

This is a result of the inhumane decisions that members of this administration want you to be silent about in public for fear of a loss of “civility”.

Ok, I've seen this sentiment before, but the amount of Kindle Unlimited ads I've been seeing is forcing me to repeat it-
Kindle Unlimited is offering two free months of unlimited ebooks. As a trial. Which will then become a paid subscription.
Your local library is offering unlimited ebooks all the time. Forever. No contracts, no predatory practices, no tracking of how long you spend on each particular page in the hopes that information about your habits can be sold for a profit.
Use your library. They want so badly to give you all of the things for free.
