Care to walk with me?

Well hello, neighbors. I won't take too much of your time. Instead of dumping it all at once—why don't we take it one walk at a time? You'll get to know and hear about me more each time we pass by the hallway.

Easy start, the name is Vivianne Kim; but you can call me Viv. As you probably guessed, I love taking a walk! Oh, don't mistaken the Kim in my family name for my Korean proficiency: I know the basic stuff, but I'll butcher the pronunciation mostly, and please forgive me in advance for my lack of understanding.

Kim is just.. a name from my dad. He's Korean (hi dad!) but we've all been living in America before I was even born, so. He moved away & cut all contact from his family when his mother, in her momentarily anger, shooed him out of the family & cursed at him for marrying my mother—a Chinese-American woman, a foreigner but NOT white—instead of taking on a Korean wife as they expected from their first-born son? I don't get the big deal as I don't grew up there (and you know America's education system at world history isn't the best), but I get the gist of the tension. Well either way, dad said they hate each other. I personally don't know? I mean, more than 25 years have passed...

But worry not! He makes an amazing father & husband for me & mom. I'm an only child btw! Problem is, with every present & functioning parents.... comes a tinyyyy bit of a spoiled child streak in me. So here I am, impulsively applying for an exchange program to Seoul on my parents' pocket money & my own savings that I gather from a few years of work.

I graduated with Bachelor in Journalism, tried working but found it dull, but I'm also not so much of a risk taker to try doing my own business... idk. You see? I have problems. I kinda like running away from adult responsibility, aha. In my defence it keeps you young & childlike.

What will I be doing in Seoul? Hm, probably try to get a taste of life from my dad's side. Isn't Korea basically a hometown I never call my own nor visited home? And I see people make a good living, doing & studying about art & cultures here, so there's.. should be a starting point somewhere.

Anyway neighbors: I love watching movies, trying out food, thrifting, reading books, basically consuming & breathing media! So don't be shy to knock on my door if you're into these & wanting a buddy to go with you. I'm just a few doors (or floors...?) away, you know!

i have so many hobbies and interests but each day the four horsemen (instant gratification, shortened attention span, procrastination, exhaustion) grab me by the throat and shake me until i collapse in my comfy bed
