04.05.21 / happy tuesday! what are you up to today? i’ve been slowly going through my german flashcards lately and my cats have been patiently acting as my language partners lol. i find that allowing myself to enjoy something, rather than fixating on all the boxes i need to tick is a kindness. i don’t have to worry about much else so long as i know i’m treating myself right. remember to take care of yourself today ♡

9th January 2021: Do you have a reading goal this year? How many books do you plan to read?

I’ve set a reading goal of twelve books because I want to read twelve classics - including the four pictured above - and, while twelve doesn’t seem like a lot, I know that 2021 is going to be a busy year for me (because I should be finishing my PhD) so I didn’t want to pressure myself by setting a high target.

I also have a few ‘reading intentions’ for 2021 - aka things I want to do that don’t revolve around a particular number or whatever. For example, I want to read more literature in translation and I want to read more contemporary novels.
