I've made a zine for my short story, Lepidopterophobia! In a few days, it will be available for free in limited quantities at a number of small bookstores, cafes, shops, and libraries in Tucson, Arizona. If you're online, I'll be posting it on my website in the coming week. Lepidopterophobia a western-inspired post-apocalyptic story about a shapeshifter and a human survivalist that become trapped together during aa dangerous storm. They must learn to trust each other through personal and cultural barriers, and in doing so, discover much about themselves. I wrote it as a reflection on the feeling of being a stranger in your own body--such as dysphoria, dysmorphia, and frustrations of disability that I've experienced, but not limited to those experiences--and how those feelings sometimes manifest in communicating with others.

This is my first zine and the first short story I'm publishing myself. The zine is entirely comprised of my own work, illustrations included.

so my sister's dog is named communist gun, but we call him red. right? and every once in a while when she wants him to jump on someone she goes "red scare!" and recently ive been trying to get him to jump on people when i go "mccarthyism!" but it's not working yet
