"Of course," Alastor agreed, really not minding at all. He, too, liked his privacy and at the moment he had no need to enter the other demon's space.
"The TV downstairs is not really... new," Charlie reminded Lobo as he closed his door to his room and they started heading downstairs. "Do you think it will connect with the laptop?"
Alastor was unconcerned as it didn't really matter. If it wouldn't work, he could force it to work with magic. One way or another, they'd see what Lobo wanted to show them.
"Good morning," Charlie smiled brightly.
"We have the map," Alastor said, gesturing to a rolled up map he was holding on to.
"Do you mind if we come in to go over it together? Or we can go downstairs and use a table there if you'd prefer," Charlie offered, not wanting to impose if he didn't want them in his room.
Outside of the spot checks for contraband she really did her best to respect everyone's privacy and space.

Alastor was sitting in the lobby, going over some paperwork at Husk's bar, using the long table since it was a hour not many guests were likely to want to use it for drinking. It was unclear if he was working on hotel paperwork or paperwork for his radio show.
His ears perked up when he heard him and he swiveled around on the barstool he was sitting on to face him.
"Ah, Lobo. What can I do for you?" Alastor asked.
Alastor thought very little of the radio situation after he dropped it off with Lobo for repair. He left the other demon to his devices, giving him the time and space to do the work. It wasn't a rush job by any means and what Alastor really cared about was that the work was done properly.
Whenever he saw Lobo in the hotel thereafter, he did not mention the radio nor ask how the progress was going. The demon would approach him when he was ready.

There was a lot about this conversation that Alastor did not like. He didn't like the idea of having an angel hanging around the hotel, though he supposed there were already two, Vaggie and Lucifer. He didn't like not knowing what was going on in his hotel.
But mostly he did not like being told his opinion was moot. His opinion mattered and if he so deemed it, all of Hell would hear it, whether they wanted to or not.
"Ordered by Heaven were you? Funny, I thought you were actually in charge of something up there. Or was it God himself that ordered you?" Alastor poked in return.
"I wouldn't recommend walking around outside the hotel grounds," he added seriously. "As Charlie's guest, I'm certain she'd be concerned for your safety and we wouldn't want to trouble our dear princess."
@letsstaytuned: ref.
"Oh, I suppose no one updated you. Weird, being you're the Hotelier." Was he teasing him a bit? Maybe. But Michael was a bit amused by the dumbfounded expression on the Radio Demon's face. Let him stew that Michael was down here now. "I've been so ordered by Heaven to investigate the Hazbin Hotel after the results of the last extermination. Which you won, by the way. Congrats. I'm glad my hint was helpful to you." If one can call slicing his own hand open a hint that is.
He shrugged his shoulders a bit and stood from the couch, stretching his body a bit and trying to wake himself up. Something that really wasn't working given how tired he was. "Not that it matters, I have permission from the King of Hell himself to be here, and Charlie wants Heaven involved. So your opinion is rather moot. Why don't you go to bed? I'm going to go take a walk."

"It makes me happy, too," Charlie replied softly, smiling lovingly at Vaggie.
"Oh, masa! I know what that is," she beamed happily, glad to recognize the word.
She blinked, looking down at her black nose which was now dabbed white and then giggled. "Heeeey, no fair," she said, dipping a finger in and dabbing Vaggie's nose in return.
"There. Now we match!"
Charlie put on her own apron as Vaggie spoke.
"Me, too. As exciting as it was to get the hotel set up and, of course, the work that goes into with the guests, it's nice to have time just for us," Charlie agreed.
"Alright! What do we do first?" she asked looking over the ingredients once Vaggie had measured some of them out.

"That is correct. Husk was a previous overlord who found his way into my employ and Niffty, well, Niffty is a unique little ball of energy!" Alastor began, glossing over Husk and focusing on Niffty.
Lilith should be very aware of Husk so there was no need to get into it and he doubted Charlie would like the story of how Husk became attached to Alastor.
"She has a penchant for bad boys, you see, and, well, she caught me in one of my finer moments and has been by my side ever since! I have to admit I've grown quite fond of the little darling," he said, setting aside a paper in a stack near Lilith.
"Wait— what?? Husk was an overlord?!?" Charlie blinked, looking at him with wide eyes.
"Mmm, yes. And now he's a bartender," Alastor said quite simply as he looked over another piece of paper.
"Mom, have you met him before?" Charlie asked, wondering if her mother had met Husk before coming to the hotel.
Upon entering Charlie’s office, Lilith’s eyes widened in mild shock at the small mountain of paperwork that filled the room. Her gaze flickered briefly to Charlie before darting back to the chaotic mess, and she released a resigned yet amused sigh. It seemed Charlie had inherited Lucifer’s organizational skills—or lack thereof.
Once the six categories were established, the work could begin.
Lilith picked up a stack of papers and settled into a nearby seat. Her eyes swiftly skimmed through the passages, assessing the document before assigning it to its appropriate category. With a flick of her hand, the paper floated gracefully into the air, propelled by a dark mist that guided it to its designated pile.
“Hm…?” Though her gaze remained fixed on the paperwork before her, her eyes narrowed slightly at his ‘innocent’ question. She wasn’t quite prepared to respond, but there was no better time than the present, and she realized this could be practice round.
“The failure to uphold one’s end of the bargain,” she replied evenly, her words carrying an element of truth. “While we’re at the hotel, you may address me informally, Alastor. I am intrigued about what prompted you to join my daughter’s venture.”

Alastor bows to her in return. "It's a date," he confirmed, looking forward to it.
This whole dating thing had been surprisingly easy with her. Easier than it had ever been for him before. He never knew it could be so... enjoyable. But he really was having a grand time and any nerves he had had about things had slipped away early in the evening just as it had with their first date.
This seemed to be working.
He joined her back at their seats, sitting down and taking her offered hand in his. There were only a few more numbers left in the show but they sat together and listened to them happily. When the show ended and the cast came out to take a bow, Alastor stood up, as much of the audience did, and applauded.
With his hand extended toward her, how could she resist the invitation to dance? Her fingers slipped effortlessly into his, and with a graceful rise from her seat, she placed her other hand gently on his shoulder and stepped into rhythm with the music.
As she continued singing, a soft laugh slipped from her lips, though the lyrics grew increasingly muffled with each passing verse. In truth, she was becoming lost in the rhythm of their dance. Her body pressed against his as they swayed together around their private booth.
“We can’t get too rambunctious…” She murmurs close to his ear. “Though, I wish to see what your skillsets are on the dancefloor. How long have you been dancing?”

"Oh, yes, burgers are wonderful," Alastor agreed and they chatted away as they walked towards the carnival area.
It was amazing how nice everything looked in comparison to home. Alastor had grown accustomed to the corpses and litter and trash that was everywhere in Pride, he had forgotten that things could look... pleasant. Even in Hell.
As they approached the carnival area they could see the pier with all the rides and game and food booths. The ocean was in the distance and demons were walking around having a fun time partaking in all the area had to offer.
"How about there?" the deer demon suggested, pointing out a place that seemed to have super jumbo sized... everything. Burgers, shakes, fries, the works.
"Thank you," Alastor said as he took the flower crown carefully from him and placed it just as carefully on his own head, deciding to wear it for the rest of the night.
One might think it a strange choice for him to wear a flower crown about town but Alastor really did not care. He wore whatever was stylish to him. Even in Pride. And the crown, in the Radio Demon's opinion, was quite stylish.
"That sound swell!" he stated enthusiastically. "I'm famished. Could really go for something meaty. Something savory."
He was making himself more hungry just talking about it.

"I was not very suave at twenty," Alastor chuckled at the very thought. "I was... miserable. I lived my life for other people. It wasn't until I was nearly twenty-one that I finally started doing what I wanted rather than what everyone else wanted me to do."
"Though that does tie in to your next question. My longest relationship was my marriage. I was married at nineteen and ran away to New Orleans shortly before my twenty first birthday. I never heard anything about a divorce or her death so I presume I died first which means we would have been married for...," he did the math in his head quickly, "twenty years."
That was more than he had ever told anyone about his past life. Even Mimzy didn't know about his wife and she had known him the longest of anyone.
"A technicality I suppose given that we only saw each other for about two years during that time but it is till death do you part," he smiled at Lucifer across the table before taking another drink of wine.
"Forever is a long time to commit to someone. And people do not stay the same. I am certainly not the same man I was when I was twenty and that was only a little over a hundred years ago. You and Queen Lilith had thousands of years to change."
Alastor took a sip of his blood wine.
"Slow is good," he concurred. "There's no need to be in a rush, you have longer than all of us to figure it out."
He silently wondered if Lucifer was dating anyone at the moment. Okay, technically, they were out on a date right now but this was all part of the deal, wasn't it? It wasn't really real and Lucifer certainly wouldn't want to take it past the month they had agreed to.
.... would he?

"Awww, that's so sweet," Charlie smiled warmly at him. "I'll definitely do my best. We'll have big sister little brother sleepovers at the hotel when he's old enough."
She softly closed her eyes, the smile still on her face. She was glad they were such good friends and, as she said before, family.
"Hey, Al? Could you help me with something?" Charlie asked.
Alastor had looked really worn out lately but she was hoping he wouldn't mind helping her with something important.
How can he deny that adorable face? Yes he's tired, but not too tired to get whatever his step daughter needs. "Certainly my dear, how can I help you?"

"That's a great idea," Charlie said, climbing into bed on Vaggie's side of the bed. She thought Alastor might be more comfortable on her usual side.
"It'd be a really good bonding experience for everyone."
She pulled the covers up over her waist, laying on her side towards the center.
"Hey, Al? Could you help me with something?" Charlie asked.

Charlie gave him a reassuring smile. "It's fine, Alastor. We're family. I still sometimes on occassion sleep in the same bed with my dad or mom."
Which was true. It was rare now that she was an adult but it did still happen. She didn't see it as that big of a deal.

"No, no, nothing like that," Charlie assured him. She set her jacket down on the arm of another chair and then went over to her bed sitting on the edge.
"I have been working soooo hard lately. You know how I tend to run myself down," she explained. "I know I need to rest but it's difficult when I know everyone else is still working hard while I'm doing nothing."
"So I'd like you to take a nap with me so I don't feel guilty about taking one," Charlie explained with a smile.
Was this an elaborate ploy to get Alastor to get some rest? Yes.
