A few things I've learned/realized today:
You can't please everyone with your writing, so you might as well please yourself.
Don't worry about what you think everyone wants you to do. That way lies writer's block and procrastination.
Let what your story be what it wants to be. Get out of your own way and don't worry about anyone else.
If you think negatively about your writing, you will feel bad about your writing, and won't want to do it. Compliment your own writing and acts of creation every change you get. Pride in moderation is a good thing. Self-esteem is a good thing.
If you want to publish a book, then every time you see one promoted on social media, including this site, remember that you don't have to be envious. You can do it too.
I believe in you. I believe in us.

why write a story if no one's going to read it?
Sometimes you don't want to share a story with others. Sometimes you do want to share it, but no one clicks on the title. So why bother writing it down if the only person you can guarantee will read it is you?
You need to get it out of your head. It just keeps replaying in your imagination on a loop and the only way to get it unstuck is to pin it down on paper.
You need to figure out what the story is. You have a lot of disjointed scenes or lines that you know are connected but you can't quite figure out how.
There's something in the story that's important to you, and you don't want to lose that thing by forgetting it. Future you might find that thing important too.
You want to be able to go back to the story again and again. Maybe to make adjustments over time. Maybe just to revisit a story that gives you the emotional release you need in that moment.
You want to be able to use text-to-speech to read the story aloud to you. Maybe it's a bedtime story. Maybe it's keeping you company while you do errands and chores.
You want to find out whether you can write a story (because not everyone can).
You want to be able to have almost the same story, but a little bit different, and you want to have it 15 times with slight variations. Then you can go through your own personal menu picking exactly the combination of beats that will satisfy you most on this reading.
You enjoy the process of finding just the right words or phrases or scenes to paint the pictures you want to shape the scene.
You want to find the exact rhythm and syllables and structure to make a sentence really sing.
You don't really have any particular reason, but you know you want to write that story down.

Literally cannot emphasize enough that my #1 writing advice is to stop being afraid. Stop being afraid of sounding too cringe, or too stupid, or too horrifying, or too horny, or too weird, or too much, or too little, or too you. You need to put your entire pussy into your art. Sure, it won't be to everyone's tastes, but if you keep yourself to the blandest tamest safest roads possible you will be of no one's tastes, not even yours.

Kept you waiting huh? After having a 3 years worth of artblock, I managed to create something! Still having issues with body portions and everything but I also know that I'm really strict to my art.
This is also my first partake in FordNanami fandom, althought I have been a huge fan of Trio of Towns since the game was published.
This is based on a headcanon, where Nanami (or Holly, if you prefer) eats Carrie's homemade mushroom pie. And yes, the mushrooms have a hallucinogenic effect or something. And of course poor dr. Ford will have to protect his virginity with all of his might. Oh, how dirty mind I have. Feel free to write a fic if you feel inspired. I love all fics this fandom has to offer (and trust me, I have read each and every way too many times <3)
Wip, will continue this and hopefully won't ruin it in the progress.

The phrase “dont objectify women” literally uses “women” as the object of the sentence.
