Xaden Riorson’s actions in Fourth Wing and Iron Flame both make more sense and become infinitely funnier when you remember that the man is 22-23 years old.

This man is AT BEST a first year grad student trying to finish compulsory military service in an active war zone while running the family business (ruling a legit kingdom) and taking on extracurriculars (leading a rebellion) as side hustles. On top of that there’s a literal plague of evil descending, institutional racism is against him, and his Situationship (calling Violet that cuz a lot happens there over two books and I’m trying to cover all the relationship levels) never seems to settle out for more than a month at a time.

Like, of course the decision making is not always on point. The man doesn’t even have a fully developed pre-frontal cortex yet and he hasn’t slept the recommended amount in 6 years.

I think we all forget that Violet has a lot of trauma.

I feel like because Xaden's trauma gets talked about so often we forget about Violet and all that she has been through. We all forget about Violets mental health. Xaden may be visibly sad and broken but Violet really hides all of her mental health issues. She has all these insecurities and anxieties and she has no idea who to talk about them with. She tried talking to Xaden but he just told her that "he thinks she's perfect so Violet should too" but that's not how it works. And obviously this is because Xaden also doesn't know how to process his emotions but the problem is that when he opens up Violet is always ready to listen and help. Xaden as much as he tries doesn't know how to help Violet so she is forced to carry everything alone. By saying this I am not in anyway trying to invalidate Xaden's trauma I just think that Violet deserves a little more grace from the fandom and a little more support from Xaden.

She got betrayed by the man she loved, had her entire world turned upside down, almost died, almost died again, was pushed to burnout, drugged and tortured, manipulated and belittled by her boyfriend’s ex, had her heart broken at the discovery he still didn’t trust her after everything they went through together, watched her mother die and one of her closest friends literally lose his leg, and you’re whining because “oh, she should be able to trust Xaden without knowing everything.” Shut the fuck up. Violet Sorrengail would eat you for breakfast. Grow up and develop some critical thinking skills.

i’m in need to reread the blood and ash series now that the last book of sera and nyktos was released because there’s so much information now that we know what happened in the past that everything would be so much clear in poppy’s book

i started rereading war of two queens and the first three chapter i was already having a bunch of question and understanding dawned on me at the same time

can’t wait for the last book and at the same time can’t believe it will end

I know some people have valid reasons for hating on The Blood and Ash series, but i loooove that series. Sure it has some unnecessary things or confusing world building, but it's really one of the best series I've read in 2022 .

I thought Casteel was gonna be my number 1 fictional bf ,that is until i met NYKTOS.

But still Poppy and Cass are HILARIOUS. everyone in that series is hilarious actually .

Their magic, worlds, war, characters was sooo good. I can’t believe people hate this series 😭

My High Lady

@freyjas-musings and I wanted to bring to life the iconic scene where Rhys takes Feyre to select a crown for her first official meeting as High Lady. The scene depicts Feyre coming into her own and truly embracing the title and we love it!

Does anyone else think it’s genuinely adorable how Tairn & Sgaeyl both seem to have bonded riders that remind them of each other?

Tairn & Xaden are both ruthless, snarky, and dramatic.

Sgaeyl & Violet are both intelligent, quick-witted, and sharp-tongued.

It's like they both went "Ah yes, that's familiar, I love it"
