Good Entrepreneurs Don’t Set Out to Disrupt Copying is perhaps the strongest force in the world. We are so predisposed to copy that it infiltrates our most innovative institutions, even the self-proclaimed hub of innovative thinking, Silicon Valley. Of course, those of us in Silicon Valley don’t call ourselves copycats, we call ourselves disrupters.

What can we ‘entrepreneur’ today? When the COVID-19 pandemic led to the shutdown of businesses in the Gunnison Valley, local contractor Matthew Kuehlhorn knew he was going to have to be creative. As an entrepreneur he has built his business, Kooler Homes, from the ground up over the last several years. Why entrepreneurs need annoying sideline critics It must be wonderful to be a sideline critic. You can easily find the defects in other people’s work or products, point them out in an annoying way, and instantly feel unique and smart. As long as you don’t have to go through the messy process of delivering on your feedback and actually fixing things, you can freely enjoy the moment and bask in your smugness.

3 Steps for Taking Personal Development to the Next Level Open your mind to change your perspective Long before creating Monetize Your Mind, Hughes was going through an emotional rollercoaster. Many of his peers told him to look into personal development, and after hitting a series of lows, he opened his mind and gave into it. Seek a mentor you can count on When you start on the path to personal development, see if you can get yourself a mentor who is close to having achieved what it is that you want. They would not only be able to guide you on the ins and outs of reaching those goals, but they may also expose you to other brilliant minds that could collectively inspire you to be that much better. Educate yourself on what keeps you up at night What is it that keeps you up at night? Maybe it's how to win over investors. Maybe it's how to get more leads. Maybe it's how to establish thought leadership or how to loosen up in business settings. Regardless of the subject, become a master on it so you can get greater clarity.

Struggling oil companies are taking advantage of US coronavirus aid American oil and gas companies were often in financial trouble well before the coronavirus economic crisis, and now many are asking for taxpayer assistance to cushion their fall. The Greatest Opportunity For Entrepreneurs Is Now First came the global pandemic, confining us all to our homes in panic. Then came the economic slowdown, as entire industries found themselves wiped out overnight. Next comes the restart, where well-prepared business leaders, owners and entrepreneurs will leap ahead and take advantage of the buyer's market. But not all have the right mindset to take advantage of this once-in-a-century chance and recognize that the most significant opportunity for an entrepreneur is right now.

If You're an Entrepreneur, It's Time to Learn Another Language Business today is a global affair. It's easier than ever for companies to do business internationally, which means knowing more than one language is more important than ever. In 2015, Bill Gates said his biggest regret in life is that he speaks only English. He's doing just fine regardless, but as an entrepreneur, that should tell you that a second language can help you go far in business.

Entrepreneurs Are Prepared for Crisis, Whether They Know It or Not I talk to entrepreneurs every day, and I keep hearing the same things. They're making plans. They’re revising, adjusting and striving. It isn’t easy; it can feel impossible. Many are making emotionally wrenching decisions, and struggling financially. But they are refusing to give up.

How to disaster-proof your business and your life For most of us, the coronavirus pandemic has been the single greatest disruption we have experienced. As traumatic and unsettling as Sept. 11 and the Great Recession were, they were limited in their scope and direct impact. By contrast, this pandemic has affected the globe on many levels and remains a scourge that we are ill-prepared to contend with.
