Kuch to mere pindaar-e-muhabbat ka bharam rakh Tu bhi kabhi mujh ko manane ke liye aa
-Respect, even if only a little, the depth of my love for you; Come, someday, to offer me consolation as well.
Ab tak dil-e-khush faham ko tujh se hain ummiiden, Ye aakhri shamme bhi bhujaane ke liye aa
-Till now, my heart still suffers some slight expectation; So come, snuff out even the last flickering torch of hope
Jaise tujhe aate hain na aane ke bahaane, Aise hi kisi roz na jaane ke liye aa
-The way you find excuses to not come, Some day, come with an excuse to stay forever.!

So I stumbled upon something of greatness. Tolstoy’s family recipes. I spent a good hour looking over kindle copy I bought. I have to admit even tho I know most flavors were simple and not very complex my mouth was watering as I turned each page. I decided to try the lemon cake and I will divulge that silly me didn’t realize that this recipe was closer to a scone for the cake part. It still tasted wonderful but not what I was looking for for dessert tonight. So I made my nana’s lemon cake and still used Tolstoy’s icing. I cut the cake in half and made homemade chantilly cream. I will freeze the “cake” or “scone” that I originally made because it would be lovely dipped in tea… Another cherished recipe book.

🌙 My Witchy Bedroom Cleaning Routine ⚡
Hey witches! This is what I personally do to clean my bedroom as a witch. I find incorporating witchcraft into housekeeping really changes it from a mundane task into a pleasant and grounding practise.
To begin, I open my window to allow fresh air to circulate and to let stagnant energy out.
My first task is stripping my bedcovers and putting them in a laundry, then making up my bed with fresh pillowcases and sheets. I personally spritz my bed linen with a homemade essential oil spray made from water, witch hazel and lavender essential oil. My predominant scent for the bedroom is lavender due to its relaxing and sleep aid properties, but you can use whatever you like.
I make lavender sachets out of dried lavender which I place under and in my pillowcases.
I then move onto clearing my floor of any clothing. I have a laundry basket in the corner where I place dirty clothing, and I fold everything clean up or hang it in my wardrobe. I love to use my essential oil diffuser with my favorite scents and place it in my wardrobe to make my clothing smell lovely and fresh, and I make herbal sachets for inside my drawers for the same purpose.
Any other miscalleneous items on my floor or chair get put away in their correct areas. I have a basket under my nightstand which I have gotten into the habit of placing random items in, so I sort through this and put everything away.
I then move into organising the tops of my dressers and tables. I usually move most items off surfaces and onto my bed while I spray and wipe all of my surfaces down. I make my own cleaning spray out of white vinegar, citrus peels and lemongrass essential oils for this purpose. I also empty all of my incense holders of ash and then rearrange everything back into its correct place.
The next step is my altar. After wiping down the surface of my altar, I rearrange it how I wish. If I’m performing a certain spell that day, I will also make sure my needed items are laid out and ready to go.
All items off my windowsill then get taken off while I wipe it down with my spray and wipe. Many of my crystals and plants are stored here, and I rearrange afterwards as I wish.
Now that my floor is cleared, I am able to vacuum.
I then cleanse my room either using a sage stick or sage incense.
Finally, I water all my plants, set out fresh flowers on my nightstand and either use my essential oil diffuser, light an incense or light a scented candle to make my room smell lovely. 💖

Hearth Witch Tips 🌌
Hey witches! As some of you may know, I am a hearth witch. Here is a small list of some witchy things I incorporate into my home. My home and my family is my pride and joy, and it brings me great joy to have little rituals in place for a comfortable, cozy and tranquil living space, and fulfills my nurturing spirit. Enjoy! 💖🌙
🔮 Hanging rosemary at your front door for protection.
🔮 Lavender sachets for under pillows to promote relaxation and calm.
🔮 Spraying bed linen with a blend of water, witch hazel and lavender essential oil.
🔮 Candles in the hearth area of the home can be a replacement for the traditional hearth fire. I have a fireplace, however often burn a candle instead in the warmer months where a fire would be too hot.
🔮 Growing herbs on windowsills is a beautiful touch, and especially useful for witches without access to a garden space. Grow herbs based on your desired intent for the home, and the bonus is they can also be used for cooking.
🔮 Opening windows can let in fresh air and drive out stagnant energy.
🔮 White vinegar infused citrus peels can make a great cleaning spray. Citrus is associated with sun energy, so it can help bring vitality and uplifting spirit to your home.
🔮 Spraying curtains with a blend of basil essential oil and water can bring peace, wealth and settle conflict in the home.
🔮 Enchanting blankets to provide comfort, reassurance and solace.
🔮 Sweeping and vacuuming can be looked upon as getting rid of unwanted energy.
🔮 Mirrors are thought to amplify the power of everything they reflect. Placing beautiful items such as flowers, crystals, shells and candles, along with keeping them out of sight of clutter can invite beautiful energy into the home.
🔮 Essential oil diffusers are an amazing tool. Use them to infuse whatever essential oils you want in your home, as different oils have different magickal correspondences. I also place my diffuser at the bottom of my wardrobe, to infuse my clothing with different scents and for magickal intent.
🔮Fresh flowers in the home are a great way to liven up a room and have magickal correspondences. Blue flowers are associated with drawing peace and tranquility into the home, so I often have blue hydrangeas in my flower vases.
🔮 To keep away unwanted guests, smear patchouli oil on door handles. Make sure all family members are in the home when doing this.
🔮 Place salt on the windowsills for protection. If a room in your home feels full of negative energy, placing salt in the four corners of the room and letting it sit there for 48 hours will absorb this energy.
🔮 When cooking for my family, I visualize it being infused with love. I imagine the love pouring from my heart into my meals - this simple practise is nurturing and calming.

22 Tips for a Witchy Home
1. Put a couple drops of essential oils on light bulbs to make a room smell fresh and add a magickal touch. Make sure you do this while the light is off otherwise the light bulb will explode. 2. Keeping an acorn at your window will keep lightning from striking. 3. Keep a Kitchen Witch (Cottage Witch) doll in your kitchen to bring good luck and to keep away any ill meaning spirits. 4. Spilling water on your tablecloth means a storm is coming. The same is true of a coffee pot that boils over. 5.Burn a candle on your stove to symbolize the hearth fire of the past. This honors your patron kitchen Goddess and fills your home with love. Candles have a longer burning life if you place them in the freezer for a few hours before lighting them. 6. To keep an unwanted visitor from returning sweep whatever room or rooms they were in as soon as they leave your home. 7. Never sweep your kitchen after the sun goes down. 8. Two yolks in an egg foretell a marriage. 9. Cakes should be baked while the sun is rising. 10. Never turn a loaf of bread upside down after it has been cut. 11. It’s good luck to receive a loaf of bread as a house-warming present. 12. To throw away bread is to throw away any potential luck and prosperity that would come to your home, instead make breadcrumbs or feed it to the birds. 13. If a ring of rice forms around the edge of a pot it means money is coming. 14. Wine leftover from ritual…freeze it in ice cube trays then add a cube or two to gravies, sauces, and casseroles as needed. 15. To make your food taste better keep a quartz crystal on or near your stove. 16. When given a plant as a gift you should not say thank you or the plant will die. 17. Those looking for love should place a pot of basil on their windowsill. 18. Rosemary can be placed under pillows to ward of evil spirits. 19. In ancient times it was believed that in gardens “where rosemary flourished, the woman ruled.” 20. Lavender can be placed under the mattress to bring passion to the marital bed or hung on a bedpost for protection. 21. Growing ivy in your home guards against disaster. 22. Grow a spider plant (chlorophytum comosum) in a space you want to purify.
