anyways meet mice twins Meringue (the younger one) and Hazelnut (the older one). together they run a small combination bakery and coffee shop in Dream Land.

the shop is called Baked Beans. get it? cuz like. bakery. coffee beans. why aren’t you laughing.

here’s references of their full designs and what I picture Baked Beans to look like.

it’s the same building, but two separate sides with completely different vibes. you can literally step onto either side to grab dessert and a drink to go with it.

Fun facts about the twins and the shop under the cut:

Before the girls got their own business, they started out by making a promotional deal with Chef Kawasaki. Each meal sold at his restaurant would come with a small free sample of pastry and coffee. Once Dream Landers expressed their interest in their food, that’s when they started planning to open up their own place.

Meringue’s most popular desserts are her strawberry cream filled croissants. They’re a huge hit and are usually the first items to be sold out. Gotta get there pretty early in the morning before Baked Beans opens to grab one, but there will always be some each day.

Hazelnut has a top-secret hot cocoa recipe that is especially popular during the winter. The only other person who knows the recipe is Meringue, and they each vowed to never share it with anyone else. None of the customers know how Hazelnut makes her hot cocoa so delicious. Some say it’s magic.

Kirby occasionally helps out Meringue with baking her daily pastry selection in the mornings. Elfilin tags along too. He claims that he’s also willing to help, but Kirby knows he just wants to be there because he has a little crush on Meringue.

Daroach has been secretly nabbing pastries behind Meringue’s back since Baked Beans first opened. Hazelnut, however, has been fully aware, and has been finding subtle ways to punish him for it, such as slipping hot sauce into his drinks.

One of Meringue’s most stressful orders is Meladee’s birthday cake. Her cakes get taller with each year she gets older, since it’s a birthday tradition. Not only making the cake, but packaging and delivering it all the way to the castle is a very tedious process.
