watched violent night (tis the season) which i wanted to mindlessly absorb in the midst of sleepiness and a headache, instead was unable to not think about how the cast consisted of a rich white family and the villains, a multicultural band of mercenaries after their money. also the household staff of the rich white family all get unceremoniously slaughtered to set the scene, so only the rich white family (and some diversity tokens) survive the movie (sad!)

my fault for expecting anything else from the premise, i haven't watched anything billed as action in awhile. should i add 'mercenaries' to my list of movie codewords meaning 'brown people'? anyways, ready or not is a much better gorefest taking place within the trappings of rich white demons, and i suddenly appreciate it in new and unanticipated ways after this specimen.
