they:

defend whitewashing and often retweet whitewashed art.

whitewashed mint choco cookie in the hello kitty collaboration event (edit: here’s a chart comparing the skin tone differences).

erase their nonbinary cookies (namely cinnamon cookie [its line desc is here] and dark choco cookie [dark choco’s bio is here and uses no pronouns]).

before someone says something dumb about cinnamon cookie, there are cookies who used she or he pronouns in line. also, using it/they/no pronouns is an intentional form of nonbinary coding.

devsisters have also said that cookies are just as diverse as people in the real world in terms of gender/pronouns (in regards to the previous point, this was on the official cookie run blog before it deactivated).

a hitler cookie is featured in the cookie run comics (volume 17). here’s another photo from that chapter.

EDIT: devsisters has apologized for the hitler cookie comic and their apology can be seen here (screenshot version here for if you don’t feel like scrolling).

they released two cookies side by side, one of which is black-coded and is extremely violent, whereas the other is white and a calm saviour-type. this is racist.

milk cookie’s design also features antisemetic imagery and very much resembles the crusaders. in case you forgot what the crusades were, here are some screenshots from some history pages. here are two posts talking about it.

cinnamon cookie’s fortuneteller apprentice costume is a huge romani stereotype (wikipedia page on anti-romani racism, a page on romani sterotypes [z slur tw for the first one, g slur tw for both]).

whitewashed mint choco during hello kitty event (the left is an edit by my friend), defended whitewashing of cookies in fans' art, and retweeted whitewashed art of cookies on multiple occasions (link is just one example)

How do we think we should hold Devsisters accountable for their bullshit?

let people know, keep making posts about it in the tag on twitter/tumblr (we know at least someone at devsis hq reads checks the tags), @ devsisters on twitter about it, talk on the forums about concerns, et cetera. we know from past experience devsisters probably won't change much if anything, but by holding them accountable and showing our concerns we can at least let them know we're upset and hopefully bring about some change.

Let’s erase the fact that dnd adapted the iconography of the crusaders which, isnt great btw! That’s not a good defense it’s still antisemitic and unfortunate how common this iconography is! And maybe that’s what milk cookie is supposed to be. Fine. I’ll bite. I mean you’re wrong but lets pretend you’re right for a second.

The design is still racist bc it’s designed as a counterpart to purple yam cookie. You know, the angry, agitated cookie with the dark color palette and dreads that’s the counterpart to the extremely light colored (literally the lightest cookie in the game) “protector” who’s soft and polite uwu. In what way is that not gross and racist?
