“Perverts” was written for the religious trauma girlies, the girls who were forced to put back together the pieces of a soul they didn’t break. While it is just an album of ambient music each song draws out such visceral feelings in a way that only Ethel Cain can. My first run through of the album left me with so many thoughts;

•”least” favorite: perverts - the song actually makes me so uncomfortably paranoid (I am slowly growing to love it)

•favorite: amber waves - it gives me the feeling of mourning the life I could’ve had - thatorchia and punisher are both close seconds

this album puts words and music to feelings of despair, of grief and mourning, and I’m so here for it.

The album feels like a hug from loneliness but in the sense that loneliness is such a normal part of your life that it is considered a friend.
