Summer Year 1
[An excerpt from Dawn’s Journal - her first Dance of the Moonlight Jellies]
Day 28: Bread! Demetrius wrote to tell me about the jellies as well! Also, one last harvest of tomatoes. I spent the day planting trees along the east side of my property, they’ll help serve as a fence against the cliff, and maybe help prevent erosion? But regardless, I’ll be able to tap them for their wonderful syrups. It’s mostly oaks, with a couple maples and pines further south. Beyond that, I just spent the day tidying up the farm and making sure I’m as ready as can be for the new season. First day means lots of hoeing and watering and planting. But it’s worth it for the harvest! And I should be able to get all the plants on sprinklers so I won’t have that daily chore anymore!
As I was walking down to the beach, the fireflies were out glowing - this is probably the last time I’ll see them too. The air had a chill to it, but it was still pleasant to be outside. I ran into Abigail on my walk, so we walked down together. She couldn’t contain the excitement shining in her eyes, and I’m sure my face mirrored hers. The smell of the ocean and the sound of the waves felt palpable as we crossed the bridge onto the sand,  I took a deep breath and a huge grin split my face. Abigail and I shared a look, then she grabbed my hand and ran down to the dock with me. We joined Sebastian and Sam on the western pier, breathless and laughing as we let go of each others hand.
As the darkness fully took over from the light, you could occasionally see waves glowing off in the distance as the jellies rose and fell in the swell. Eventually, Mayor Lewis lit a lantern and pushed it out on a small raft and the jellies started to swim closer, drawn to the light. They were much rounder than I thought they’d be, once they came up close. The way they swayed with the movement of the water was such a beautiful dance. There were a few babies as well! They darted around the bigger ones, wiggling as much as they could. At first only a few came in, and I could feel my heart beating faster from the excitement of seeing them. By the time the entire herd floated in, I was in absolute awe. The water around each one was glowing, but once they were all together the entire ocean was just sparkling with light. We even saw a rare green jelly! It had fewer tentacles, and they were thicker and longer and glowed even brighter than the others.
Everyone in town showed up to watch them, and I really can’t blame them. It was the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen. I know I’ll be tired in the morning, but I could’ve stayed out watching the jellies dance all night. Unfortunately, all things have their time, and the jellies had to follow the tide and continue their journey south. It was a beautiful thing to see them while they were here though.

New To The Valley
Hello! I’m Natalie, and I’m starting this Stardew Valley themed blog! All of this can be found on each of their pages from my blog, but I’m not sure how mobile will handle it. Meet the farmers:
Ewokey: Ewokey’s always had a touch of magic about her, and while she loves the scientific process as much as the next girl (if the next girl is her wife, Maru), some things just can’t be explained through calculations. That’s why she’s taken up an apprenticeship with the Wizard and has befriended the mysterious creatures that surround Stardew Valley. She’s close with Krobus and the Junimos and has a wary, professional relationship with the Dwarf.
Lily:  Artist at heart, shy and lives a quiet life in the valley. She hasn’t gone out to socialize much within the Valley, but she did manage to fall for Leah.
Dawn:  A fighter at heart, she learned to use a sword when she was a little girl, tromping around on her grandpa’s farm. Now that she’s older, she’s back in Stardew Valley to try her hand at farming after getting burnt out on the city life.
Ophelia: Ophelia always enjoyed how slowly time flowed in Stardew Valley, so when she and her girlfriend Dizzy were tired of the city life, they decided to take a risk together and move to her grandfathers farm. Now they’ve got bustling fields and a small pasture of animals and their lives are underway. Ophelia recently found a prismatic shard and blueprints for a wedding ring… Perhaps with a little luck and iridium she’ll soon have a wife.
Each farmer’s sprite and living room is currently posted on their about page, and I’ll be starting tags for each with information about them. But in the meantime I’m looking forward to joining the Stardew community <3
