Eliza Dushku Vs. Lisa Bonet / Lilakoi Moon
Propaganda
Eliza Dushku - (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Tru Calling) - Eliza Dushku as Faith in Buffy the vampire slayer was one of my biggest crushes as a kid! And buffy/faith was my first ever ship! She just had this magnetism to her - i couldn't take my eyes off of her. Such a beautiful woman.
Lisa Bonet / Lilakoi Moon - (A Different World) - She's always had a very cool and mellow vibe about her, especially in the present day. Formerly married to rockstar Lenny Kravitz, with whom she had Zoe Kravitz! After that she was also in a longtime relationship with Jason Momoa!

I saw this question posed on tiktok, but I think Tumblr would really enjoy it too.
If a fae creature offered to give one million dollars for a bone chosen at random, how many bones would you allow them to take?
Light clarifications; The fae is not the one choosing the bones. The bone is taken at random. Each bone, no matter the size or importance, is worth a full million dollars. You must also declare the exact number first, you can't go bone-by-bone. You either say 2 or you say 10, you can't work your way up to a higher number. The bones are removed instantaneously, and the money is given immediately as well. You will not get in government trouble for acquiring the money.
Tell me in the tags/replies how many bones you'd let the fae take. And as always, reblog for bigger sample size.

One of the funniest things about the saw (2004) directors commentary is that I'm almost 100% sure that they MENTION the booty shorts crop top boom mic guy because they talk about how they accidentally caught a shot of a guy on the film crew in the mirror that they had to edit out (which is the only time they use computer sfx in the movie) and when they mention the guys name they start giggling like six year olds and go "yeah.. he would have been VERY noticeable in there with them..." and I think cary elwes very diplomatically says something about his very unique and standout look

Gloria Holden (Dracula’s Daughter, The Life of Emile Zola)— She deserves to be alongside Bela Lugosi and Christopher Lee as the hottest classic movie vampires. She was the first major examples of the reluctant vampire and the lesbian vampire and should have gone on to become an iconic scream queen. Her voice, her amazing gowns, and her EYES! I would let her eat me any day
Alma Rosa Aguirre (Nosotras las Taquigrafas)—no propaganda submitted
This is round 1 of the tournament. All other polls in this bracket can be found here. Please reblog with further support of your beloved hot sexy vintage woman.

Gloria Holden:
She made an indelible impression on me in the title role in "Dracula's Daughter" as an elegantly tormented sapphic vampire failing to repress her urges to feed on women. What can I say, I'm gay.
ooooh my god. oooooh my god. She's got the cold high society woman with secret anguish thing nailed down. Also her role as Dracula's Daughter actually inspired Anne Rice. ok.
We owe Gloria Holden for the Interview With the Vampire book and the gay awakenings of baby goths everywhere.
Her performance in Dracula's Daughter inspired Anne Rice and she's name dropped in Queen of the Damned. A queer icon, for sure. And surely this poll needs some horror movie queens?
i'm nominating her particularly for her work as a lesbian vampire in dracula's daughter (1936), which was about as overt about the concept that she was trying to suck this unsuspecting lady's blood in a gay way as it possibly could be under the hayes code

Kathryn Grayson (Anchors Aweigh, Kiss Me Kate)— Gorgeous brunette whose singing voice was one of the best. Could've been an opera star.
Setsuko Hara (Tokyo Story, Late Spring, The Idiot)— "'The only time I saw Susan Sontag cry,' a writer once told me, his voice hushed, 'was at a screening of a Setsuko film.' What Setsuko had wasn’t glamour—she was just too sensible for that—it was glow, one that ebbed away and left you concerned, involved. You got the sense that this glow, like that of dawn, couldn’t be bought. But her smiles were human and held minute-long acts, ones with important intermissions. When she looked away, she absented herself; you felt that she’d dimmed a fire and clapped a lid on something about to spill. Over the last decade, whenever anyone brought up her lips—'Setsuko’s eternal smile,' critics said, that day we learned that she’d diedI thought instead of the thing she made us feel when she let it fall." - Moeko Fujii

Setsuko Hara:
One of the best Japanese actresses of all time; a symbol of the golden era of Japanese cinema of the 1950s After seeing a Setsuko Hara film, the novelist Shūsaku Endō wrote: "We would sigh or let out a great breath from the depths of our hearts, for what we felt was precisely this: Can it be possible that there is such a woman in this world?"
One of the greatest Japanese actresses of all time!! Best known for acting in many of Yasujiro Ozu's films of the 40s and 50s. Also she has a stunning smile and beautiful charm!

Linked gifset 2
She's considered by some to be the greatest Japanese actress of all time! In Kurosawa's The Idiot she haunts the screen, and TOTALLY steals the show from Mifune every time she appears.
"No other actor has ever mastered the art of the smile to the same extent as Setsuko Hara (1920–2015), a celebrated star and highly regarded idol who was one of the outstanding actors of 40s and 50s Japanese cinema. Her radiant smile floods whole scenes and at times cautiously undermines the expectations made of her in coy, ironic fashion. Yet her smile's impressive range also encompasses its darker shades: Hara's delicate, dignified, melancholy smile with which she responds to disappointments, papers over the emotions churning under the surface, and flanks life's sobering realizations. Her smiles don't just function as a condensed version of her ever-precise, expressive, yet understated acting ability, they also allow the very essence of the films they appear in to shine through for a brief moment, often studies of the everyday, post-war dramas which revolve around the break-up of family structures or the failure of marriages. Her performances tread a fine line between social expectation and personal desire in post-war Japan, as Hara attempts to lay claim to the autonomy of the female characters she plays – frequently with a smile." [link]
Leading lady of classic Japanese cinema with a million dollar smile
Maybe the most iconic Japanese actress ever? She rose to fame making films with Yasujiro Ozu, becoming one of the most well-known and beloved actresses in Japan, working from the 30s through the 60s in over 100 hundred. She is still considered one of the greatest Japanese actresses ever, and in my opinion, just one of the greatest actresses of all time. And she was HOT! Satoshi Kon's film Millennium Actress was largely based on her life and her career.

Fredi Washington (Imitation of Life, The Emperor Jones)—She was a beautiful woman whose movie career was struck short because she refused to pass as white, but she did get to star with the greats like Cab Calloway, Hattie McDaniel, Paul Robeson, Duke Ellington, Louise Beavers, etc. Being a person of moral and conviction is hot. Also, she knew ballet and was a beautiful dancer in general.
Anne Shirley (Murder, My Sweet)— She just had such a surprising intensity and vivid presence to her! I wish she'd made more films, but she's darling in whatever I've seen her in. Also yes, she is in fact named after Anne Shirley from Anne of Green Gables
This is round 1 of the tournament. All other polls in this bracket can be found here. Please reblog with further support of your beloved hot sexy vintage woman.

Fredi Washington propaganda:
Short Hollywood career for being too light-skinned to play maid roles, but too brown to be cast opposite a white man in the time. Civil Rights activist. Worked with Paul Robeson to create the Negro Actors Guild. Heavy work in theatre and the NAACP.
