Brightest In The Forest by Steve Reekie Via Flickr: Forget Rata flowers, native Fuschia & Parakeets, even the famous Sky Blue Mushroom, Entoloma Hochstetteri cannot compete with the 3D flouro that jumps out at you from under a dark log in the forest when you encounter this incredibly bright slime mold, Hemitricha calyculata. To encounter it in this bright phase is very lucky, since it is only like this for a few hours. Within a day, it will have turned brown, then the top will burst into a fluffy brown wollen mass, which will eventually turn white, to resemble a stick of candy floss.
