At 25, Tsuna is extremely comfortable having physical relationships and intense friendships with people, but even with all that development (and a polycule that is intensely complicated) he's still avoidant of the concept of romance.

When the whumpee just won’t give in

I love that part in the whumpee’s captivity where they’re bloodied and bruised and everything hurts, but they’re still holding out.

Like, maybe they’ve stopped bothering to hold in their screams and they don’t throw insults at their captor anymore, but they still won’t tell them what they want.

And they don’t know how long they can keep this up for, but for now they remain quietly defiant, despite the pain.

His shirt was a wrinkled mess, his jeans were worse, and the only thing that could be said to be decent in the whole thing was the distinct and large pair of rings on his right hand- the hand holding Joshua’s arm.

“...Ah, crap, that’s right, I’m in Japan. Sorry. Can you tell me what you know about this guy, Neku Sakuraba?” Tsuna fished out a picture of the redhead in question, clearly taken from a distant stalker’s (or sniper’s) angle. “Mi famiglia- my family is looking for him.”

Tsuna did not release Joshua’s arm- for all that his voice was soft and words were apologetic, there was steel there.

Tsuna jumps at the sound of a voice near him, making a little ‘hiee!’ in the back of his throat, not expecting someone to sneak up on him like that. (He really hopes that this means this person is not a threat to him, and not that his oft-vaunted Vongola Intuition hasn’t crapped out on him.) He pauses to look at the ash blond, frowning slightly. How does he say this without it sounding cocky? How does he tell a complete stranger that short of a supernatural threat, he’s pretty sure nobody can do anything to him he couldn’t shrug off, if he couldn’t stop them?Large golden-brown eyes pass over Joshua for a minute before Tsuna smiles faintly. “Thank you for the warning, but uh... I think I should be fine.” He unconsciously crosses his thumb under his index finger to run over the surface of the obnoxiously large ring on his middle finger, the way an experienced knife fighter might unconsciously go for their blades at the first sign of danger.
