I honestly don't know what to do. Mahmoud's grandmother is in the hospital and very sick. His fundraiser supports 17 people in Gaza including 3 infants, and it is seriously stagnating. He has only received 1 donation in 5 days. He has been fundraising since May and has only raised $5,643 CAD, which is only the equivalent of $3905 USD. This is not enough at all to support a family of 17 with the rising prices of necessities in Gaza.

He's worried, I'm worried, and we're both feeling pretty helpless. Please give his fundraiser more support.

Every day that passes is a struggle for survival.😢

I am a 33-year-old Moamen from Gaza. I stand before you as someone who is trying to support my family of 5: me, my wife and my three children, in the miserable conditions we live in after the occupation launched the war on Gaza. We were displaced from our home and it was completely destroyed. We now live in a tent. Due to the circumstances and the lack of income, we are unable to provide the necessary support such as food and drink due to the crazy rise in prices. Thus, my source of livelihood has been destroyed, in fact completely destroyed, as we are no longer allowed to work; and we expect to live in miserable conditions in tents. It is difficult for me to find the words to describe what we face every day on the street; without food, medicine or clean drinking water; with the oppression, helplessness, psychological pressures, doubts and daily trauma caused by everything around us and the inability to care for our loved ones. The fear of danger, illness and death never leaves us.

“Now I find myself in this difficult situation, and I humbly ask you to help me save the lives of my family, especially my infant, by getting us out of Gaza to Egypt and building a new life outside Gaza, or helping us get out of Gaza. We need money to buy the necessities that we may be able to afford. Asking for help is not easy, but we had no other choice because we want to survive and try to rebuild our shattered lives. We are very grateful for any help you can provide, no matter how small, because your help will go a long way in alleviating our suffering. i honestly don't know how to say this but the survival of an entire group of people who are going through a active genocide should not have to depend on how well they are able to articulate and present their condition to you in a post.

but it is. a person gets donations to buy necessities if their post ends up being eye catching or something that grabs the reader's attention. what happens to those who cannot make such posts? no one's survival should depend on something like this.

Little Majd needs your help

Majd Al-Habeel @youseffamily has known little of life without suffering. After losing his home to IOF bombardment, he and his parents were forced to live in a tent. This wreaked havoc on Majd’s health, as he is diagnosed with a serious respiratory illness that limits his ability to breathe. Living in a tent leaves one exposed to dust, dirt, debris, vermin, mold, fungus, and harsh weather—the worst possible environment for a child with his condition.

His family requires mutual aid to provide for Majd’s life-saving care, as well as to procure food, water, medications, other supplies, and clothing and gear for winter. They are a little over two-thirds of the way to their current listed goal, with still a long way to go. Please help this family out and give sweet Majd a better chance at life.

Hello everyone, hope you are all doing well. Today I write this post on behalf of @aburakhiaibrahim who has asked me to publish this in the hope of boosting his campaign.

Ibrahim lives in Gaza with a family of 28 including 15 children. They have lost everything in this catastrophic war and suffer from displacement, scarce food and water and most recently flooding due to inclement weather. His situation is incredibly dire, yet he still smiles despite the pain and loss.

Unfortunately Ibrahim's campaign is moving very slowly. Sometimes going 5 days without any donations. It currently sits at 8,673 CAD, 29% of the total goal. 🚨Urgent Appeal 🚨

My name is Jaber Al-Haj. I am from Gaza, married to my wife, Menna, and we have a little son named Hashim, who is less than two years old. Like any Palestinian family, we dreamed of a simple and stable life. But the recent war turned our lives upside down. The sounds of explosions never left us, and fear has become part of our daily existence. My son Hashim suffers from health problems that urgently require treatment, but the war has destroyed everything, including the healthcare system, making access to necessary medical care nearly impossible. With each passing day, our suffering deepens, and the fear for Hashim’s health and future consumes me.

Alongside my small family, I used to work with my brothers, Aboud and Bilal, on our joint project—a small lab for producing essential household cleaning products. We started this project with modest resources, dreaming that it would become a source of income to support us and provide job opportunities for our community. But the war left us with nothing. Our lab, which was once filled with life and hard work, was reduced to rubble under the bombardment. We lost our equipment, our livelihood, and with it, a part of our dreams for the future.

Even our home, our only refuge, did not escape the destruction. It was severely damaged and is now uninhabitable. We were forced to flee and live in a tent under harsh conditions unfit for human life. The cold, the heat, the lack of resources, and the absence of privacy have made life nearly unbearable. We try to cope, but every day brings new challenges and suffering.

Today, what worries me the most is my son Hashim's condition. His health is deteriorating, and he desperately needs treatment abroad. However, under the circumstances we’re living in, I lack the means to secure his travel and medical expenses. As a father, there is nothing more heartbreaking than watching my child suffer while being unable to help him.

This campaign is a lifeline for my family in our darkest hour. With your generosity, we can bring hope back into our lives and secure a better future for my son, Hashim. Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a world of difference.

I can't lie, I find it very odd that posts cautioning people against donating to individual* campaigns and promoting the idea of supporting mutual aid efforts and community kitchens in Gaza can rack up 10k+ notes--while a post promoting a community kitchen (that I can personally vouch for) struggles to get 1k notes, and has barely pulled in a couple hundred dollars over the past week.

I actively try to avoid using guilting tactics in fundraising, but this is weird to me. It's like people are using these posts as an excuse not to do things they already didn't want to do anyway, rather than actually taking their recommendations on board...
