Yuzu crossed her arms, giving a small wrinkle of her nose. Why would a Sheikah need to talk to Master Kohga? She knew there were rumors of some kind of reunion, though it made her uneasy - as it did with others who whispered of the rumors.

"He is not," she told the woman, as matter-of-factly as she could. "Master Kohga is already very busy with business right now." She wasn't about to say that the business was Kohga's usual afternoon nap. "No one's s'posed to disturb him. I can take a message to him."

“Huh?” Impa had a feeling that perhaps she was being watched, maybe even followed. But she brushed it off as paranoia due to the recent attacks of monsters that were reported around Kakariko Village.

But she had to find the leader of the Yiga, Kohga and talk to him about an urgent matter. Impa traversed through the hot weather of the Gerudo dessert and made her way to Karusa Valley when she noticed a young girl outside and acknowledged her inquiry.

“I know I’m not allowed around here, but is your master available? I have to talk to him.”

ooc ; when I was first playing around with Yuzu and her relationships with the Yiga, originally, she was going to be Sooga's granddaughter since her main timeline is during ToTK, but you know what? She's Sooga's adoptive sister now. Because I run both her and a Sooga blog and they're my canon, my rules. Sibling vibes. Protective baby sister Yuzu and her massive Big Brother, Sooga.

She'd seen the woman around a couple of times, though she'd kept her distance - the split between the Yiga and the Sheikah was a big deal, after all. But the Master seemed to tolerate the woman's presence, so it made sense that, maybe, she was an exception to the rule.

Yuzu flipped down from the overhang along the desert canyon as the Sheikah woman approached. Her legs looped over and she hung upside down, her white hair hanging loose. "Whatcha doing around here, Miss Sheikah? Master Kohga always said you guys weren't allowed here."

There was a groaned 'too late' from Link and more excited - but quieter - chatter from Yuzu for a moment before she was leading Link down the stair, bouncing on her toes while Link rubbed his eyes with a yawn.

"I'll make breakfast!" Yuzu let go of Link's arm and started towards the kitchen before she was easily picked up by Link. "Hey!"

Link carried her over to the table and set her down in her chair. He muttered something about handling breakfast before picking up his tea and heading to start making breakfast. "Arall, give her a present to open so she doesn't explode from excitement."

Yuzu ran over to her dad and gave him a hug as he got down to the bottom of the stairs before bounding up the way he'd come. "I'll go wake him!!"

The next thing Arall would hear would be the sound of Yuzu leaping on the bed and a startled noise from Link. "LINK!! There are PRESENTS!!"

headcanon ;

The Yiga are not wealthy by any means, barely scrapping together much in the way of Rupees, presents for them tend to be the handmade kind. Gifts of carved toys, handsewn clothing, blankets made of re-purposed materials, and baked goods tend to be the type of presents young Yigas receive and give for holidays.

Yuzu continues this, even though she now lives outside of the clan. What rupees she earns with chores and odd jobs around Hateno aren't used for frivolous things. She may pay Sayge to re-dye old fabrics or buy ingredients from the general store, but she hand-makes all her gifts.

And she'll send gifts out to the Yiga Hideout for those she left behind, whether they'll be accepted or not.

The next thing Arall would hear would be the sound of Yuzu leaping on the bed and a startled noise from Link. "LINK!! There are PRESENTS!!"

"PRESENTS!!!"

@puxrlunae asked: "I got you something very special. A couple things actually." He held out a box to her with a smile. It was a stuffed horse that looked like Epona as well as his old ocarina. "I can teach you a few songs on that ocarina if you would like." Even if it would hurt him, he would teach his granddaughter anything she wished to learn.

She opened the box with excitement - presents among her clan had always been a treat, but now that she lived outside of the clan, she felt almost spoiled with gifts. A wide smile crossed her face at the sight of a plush and she immediately clung to it, holding it tight in the crook of her arm as she reached into the box for the ocarina. She cradled it gently in her hands.

"Are you sure I can have this?" Yuzu knew from the last time they'd talked about it that the ocarina was important. She looked up at her grandfather with hesitancy before holding it out to him. "The song your friend taught you - that's the first one I want to learn."

She gives a beaming smile. "Still won't ride one, but I'm getting better!"

"Our secret!" She beamed happily. She loved her new family, Amaron included. Even Epona was growing on her, thanks to him.

She's going hug him. "Even more than Link, right?"
